Luke 17:34-37; "I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, the other shall be left. (35) Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. (36) Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. (37) And they answered and said unto him, Where Lord? And he said unto them Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together."

Matthew 24:28; "For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together."

The deciples ask where the one was taken...........and he answered and said.......to be eaten by the eagles...eagles are meat eaters. This is talking about death to one of the two.

Habakkuk 1:8; "Their horses also are swifter then the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves; and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat."

This is more accurately translated "Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.

Vultures typically do gather together when there is meat to eat. Eagles, on the other hand are typically loners.

Any physical gathering of eagles is a prophetic alert from God because eagles do not, naturally, gather to gether on there own.
He makes a physical declaration of the prophetic...eagles represent the prophetic; eyes to see; seers anointing; access; revealtory gifts.

While the eagle is considered an unclean animal, in the OT, and was not to be eaten by the chilrend of Israel, most Biblical references to eagles are in a postive form..Consider Ps 91

Lk 17:37And answering they said to Him, "Where, Lord?" And He said to them, "Where the body is, there also the vultures will be gathered."
This verse is saying that whereever the BODY OF CHRIST is, there will be the enemy hovering, waiting to kill steal and destroy. This is not a literal verse, but a metaporical, spiritual verse. The spiritual enemy of the children of God will be awaiting the coming of Christ so as to kill them before they have a chance to repent and be saved before it's all over. The enemy will seek to steal, kill and destroy those that waver...the 'vultures'/devil is hungrily awaiting the 'leftovers'...those that did not believe, those that did not obey...those that will get left behind because they did not truly KNOW the Lord.

hi vrj, that scripture in verse 28. means that the wicked will be together after the same thing, like the eagles after a dead body(birds of a feather will flock together.).

Thank-you both Maggie and Wake-up.

I believe eagles is translated vultures in James Strong Concordence. Will look it up soon. Still, why would he mention two people divided like he did and why just come out with saying it was him(Jesus)? Why would Jesus divide himself?

Why the division? Why two? Why not three or four?

I believe there are still deeper meanings to be learned here.
