The Germans were predominantly Christian.
Many german christians were imprisoned or put to death, for helping the Jewish people, or speaking against hitleras well.
It was a horrific time , that one prays will not happen again.

Why not? If someone was trying to kill me, I'd certainly like to have a gun.

what if the person "trying to kill you" was just trying to get your attention and you misunderstood him
uuuups! you killed him!

trying to get your attention in a way that could be described as life threatening is definitely grounds for shooting them in the face. Also there are quite a few things that can affect the ruling besides what the defendant says.

That would indeed be a cause for concern, except for the fact that I do have at least as much common sense as the average water buffalo.

I would rather be killed than having to explain to God why I killed someone else, but I guess you'll disagree with me there
