Yes

Jesus said..
Mat 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Well, I suppose one could say that your heart is your mind, but I tend to think of those sins which are lusts as either coming out of the flesh, or out of our hearts. Sins of the thoughts which are in our minds tend to be of a different sort. One is intellectual superiority, and another is leaning towards your own understanding. But the real test of whether our thoughts are sinful is whether or not they, our thoughts, have been taken captive to Jesus Christ. Many suppose that this means that all of our thoughts are about Jesus, but I understand this to be that all of our thoughts are from Jesus. In any case, any thoughts which originate any where other than Jesus would be extremely suspect to my way of thinking.

If you seek and do such things with your mind wanting to, then yes one can sin in mind.
If thoughts simply try to bring sin, then this is temptation, in Jesus, you refuse and praise Jesus!
Some thoughts simply are spoken to your mind, praying and refusing in Jesus brings victory!

God bless.

it stats in the mind, and if you allow it to linger long enough it can come to action; then sin is born. what was in the mind has manifested.

seriously though if it causes you to sin Jesus tells us to cut it off.

now I know some lustful people who might have a problem with taking that literally.....hmmm, isn't marriage wonderful?

We use the concept of the heart as being the centerplace of our emotions thus the statement "committed adultery in his HEART". His heart really had nothing to do with it. Our hearts don't actually control or produce lust, it is the mind, our brain that does that :p

The heart is deceitful above all things; who can know it?
