Ok well we've got one for Islam that never seems to go away, so I figured in the interests of fairness we should have one for the Catholics too. :D

I used to think it was the mother of harlots. but then I learned more about Catholicism, studied what it really taught, compared it to Scripture.... and I realized I was wrong. The Catholic Church is the most Biblically sound Church I've ever had the privilege to attend. Now I am Catholic myself and feel ever closer to my Lord God and Saviour Jesus Christ.

I think the Pope is his cover. He's actually a Sith Lord by the name of Darth Sinaiticus.

Christians, beware the Dark Side!

What is evil among the churches of Christendom is the disunity, caused by misunderstanding Scripture. In every human person, there is some evil. That evil needs to be cleansed and removed from a human person who is a Christian, by the blood of Jesus Christ. Why didn't the person who wrote this say, "Is Protestantism evil?" or "Is Lutheranism evil?" or "Is Augustinianism evil"? "Is Calvinism evil?" Is "the Presbyterian church", the "Baptist church", etc. evil? Why not ask these questions, too? Robert A. Morey thinks Eastern Orthodoxy is evil. He wrote a terrible book, "Is Eastern Orthodoxy Christian", or some such nonsense. I would say all Christians are Christian, and can be delivered from the evil one by Jesus Christ, whether they are Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Anglican (Episcopal), Methodist, Pentecostal, Old Catholic, Roman Catholic, Oriental Orthodox, Eastern Orthodox, etc.
God save us all. I would ask the basic question, "Is Anti-Trinitarianism evil?"
The answer is: Yes.
Take care. In Erie PA USA Scott R. Harrington

I'm actually pleasantly surprised by this poll. I was expecting a lot more votes for yes than no

I was actually going to make an Are Penguins Evil? thread. Maybe it just seemed too obvious.

No, I don’t think the Catholic Church is evil. There are no perfect churches, I don’t believe.

We cannot judge them Inwardly but my grandmother is cathlioc

now not condemning but, they pray to crosses and statues and pray to Saints.....and follow one man and what ever he says it is suppose to happen......(pope)

Not sure about them being evil, maybe you are hearing the negetive side of this religion and not the positive and right side

They are Christians still, right? I believe so

there was also a thread questioning if Canada is evil.... *shakes head*

first of all you have to ask yourself what is "evil"

the bible says 'the love of money is the root of ALL evil'.. so...can you call a denomination 'evil'... is it linked to 'the love of money'? who sits on top of all denominations?

hmmm

Catholicism existed many centuries on corruption. They sold indulgences, and the many was spent on leaded light and big cathedrals instead of helping the poor like Jesus us to do in the bible.

Besides these things, I have feel strong rancour to catholicism due to family reasons. My grandfather's family was literally starving from hunger during the second world war. Luckily he could get communion wafer in the church. But his 2-years old little sister hadn't done the communion yet. So while everyone was eating his belly full with communion wafer and wine, his sister died because of the hunger. The church killed her with unexplicable rules, traditions and rituals which aren't even spoken about in the bible.

This is the same thing as the Mormonism thread: A false gospel is a false gospel and a misled individual is a misled individual. Anything not of God is, quite simply, evil because it is not of Him. If a Catholic truly believes that he or she is saved through Christ and heeds the Word of God, then they are a Follower of Christ. I personally find Catholicism to be quite worldly and I'd argue that some of their rituals are borderline idolatry (Note: It's my view of the Catholic Church as an entity, I am not trying to infuriate anybody. I dislike the concept of denominations to begin with.), but I've no doubt that there are Christians within the ranks simply because they do utilize God's Word and they do portray Jesus as Lord and Savior, as He truly is.

It doesn't matter what organization or religion: If they do not teach God's Word and Salvation through Christ, they are misleading their followers. Catholicism, Mormonism, Islam, Ice-Creamism, whatever.

I have met very few Catholics that have actually read the Bible. I'm not being dramatic or anything, that's just absolutely been my experience and half of my family is born and raised Catholic. They all pray constantly, they all take the Lord's name in vain and they all get immediately defensive if someone says something bad about the Church or God. It's just strange, in my opinion. How can you feel like your religion is your lifestyle but never read the Bible? I mean be TOTALLY CLUELESS about what it says in there unless it's part of a prayer they had to memorize.

My 2 little nephews currently attend a Catholic school. They're like 5 and 6. Anyway, one of them said to me 'I believe in God the Father and Jesus is his son and the Mother Mary.'

I don't think Catholicism is evil but it is certainly quite different from Protestantism. I would say most people learn the big 3 as the trinity- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. So far these kids have learned about 3 separate people- God, Jesus and Mary.

So strange. Growing up, I remember the Catholic half of my family teasing the Protestant half of my family about 'worshiping Jesus.' Like to them it was the funniest thing in the world, but if you ask them if they are saved in Christ they say 'yes.'

Not evil, but misguided perhaps. Regardless of the many quirks in their dogma, their faith is founded on Christ and his sacrifice for mankind.

Let's look at how many Biblical principals catholicism violates.. 1 They call a preist father, and the book of Matheew says that no ,man is to called father, 2 They pray to saints,, which is idol worship. 3 they go to a preist to intercede to God for them when Christ is our priest to intercede for us. 4. The preist tells you to say a few vain repetaive prayers that mean nothing and all is forgiven. 5 , They have graven images in the church.. threr may be more.. but these are the ones i can think of af hand
