Hypothetically speaking telling the difference between mental health problems and demonic possession can be difficult unless there is some sort of physical indicator, change of eye colour, jumpy awkward and uncordinated movements for example can be a sign that someone is being possessed and also controlled and that the entity possessing them may be having some difficult adjusting to its "fleshy" host, rapid change in personality speech patterns and behaviour can also be an indicator of possession but it could easily be some other entirely normal mental health problem. Those demonically posessed can show an aversion to holy things, crosses chruches etc... wont enter hallowed ground and can often be extremely hostile to those of a religous nature.

signs of possession is where they Scream and do Satanic stuff. They act totally different. They also speak very loud at times in a foreign tongue (not speaking in tongue by God).

One thing we have to have discerning is of spirits. That's a gift from God. If one is reading there bible all the time and trying to seek God they can ask for this. Some people God just gives it to them.
Like you can walk up to a person and the Lord tells you the person has bitterness. You know a demon is latched onto them and you can pray for them to get over what ever hurt and anger it is they have.
A person can have all kinds of demons in them being affected by it all but they still haven't totally turned all of their will over to it.
