1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

These are the scriptures that they use to say that the children of the light will be ready and the day of the Lord will not overtake them as a thief in the night,but we have to see what this really means,and to rightly divide the word of truth.

These 2 scriptures prove that the saints do not know the day of the Lord,for Paul said that he did not need to write unto the saints concerning the times and the seasons concerning Jesus' return,because that day comes as a thief in the night,and Paul does not know himself.Paul said there is no need for us to know the times and seasons concerning Jesus' return,for Jesus said that no man can know,and that He will come as a thief in the night,so there is no need for Paul to write concerning that.

They believe that since it says that the saints are not in darkness,that that day should overtake them like a thief,that it is talking about the day of the Lord,but this is not talking of the day of the Lord,but of the time when they say peace and safety,that will fool the world into believing that the world coming together is the solution to solve the world's problems,but the saints will not be fooled by it,and know that only by Jesus can man prosper.
10Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown(Revelation 3:10-11).
I believe that the letters to the 7 Churches is symbolic of how the Church age will go up until Jesus returns,for there is only one temptation that can tempt all the people of the world,and that is when they say peace and safety,for it is follow the one world government and religious system,which the beast system has power over all the world,and Jesus said He will not even allow the saints to be tempted with the idea that the one world government and religious system is of God.
Paul is saying that the saints will not be caught as a thief when they shall say peace and safety to think that it is the best for the world and of God,and Jesus will not even let them be tempted to believe it is of God,for it will lead to the beast system,which the saints know is not of God,where the world will think it is of God.
Like the false prophet will do lying wonders that will appear to be so real,that it would deceive the very elect,if it were possible,but it is not possible to deceive the elect for they are the elect.
Since Paul said that he has no need to write unto us about the time of Jesus' return,for we cannot know for it comes as a thief in the night,then Paul would not write that when they say peace and safety that that day shall not overcome them like a thief,as having any reference to the day of the Lord,but meaning they will not fall victim to the beginning of the one world government and religious system that will lead to the beast system.
Paul is giving us a little hint to let us know that the day of the Lord is near,when they say peace and safety for the world,but has no need to tell of the times and seasons of Jesus' return,which means the plan of God concerning that day,for it comes as a thief in the night,which Paul does not know,the angels do not know,and Jesus said no man knows,and only the Father knows.
When Paul says that he has no need to write to us about the times and seasons concerning Jesus' return,it means the plan of God concerning a certain time frame,but the events happen on one day,like when the Jews asked Jesus if He was going to restore the kingdom on earth back to the Jews at that time,and He said it is not for them to know the times and seasons,but only the Father,and God will restore the kingdom to them on one certain day,in the millennial reign of Christ,and it is the day of the Lord,not the days of the Lord.
That is gutsy,but of course not spiritual,to actually say you know the day of the Lord and know the day that the world is going to end,and that God is going to destroy the earth,for they do not believe in the millennial reign of Christ.
TIMING OF IMPORTANT EVENTS IN HISTORY
11,013 BC—Creation. God created the world and man (Adam and Eve).
4990 BC—The flood of Noah’s day. All perished in a worldwide flood. Only Noah, his wife, and his 3 sons and their wives survived in the ark (6023 years from creation).
7 BC—The year Jesus Christ was born (11,006 years from creation).
33 AD—The year Jesus Christ was crucified and the church age began (11,045 years from creation; 5023 calendar years from the flood).
1988 AD—This year ended the church age and began the great tribulation period of 23 years (13,000 years from creation).
1994 AD—On September 7th, the first 2300-day period of the great tribulation came to an end and the latter rain began, commencing God’s plan to save a great multitude of people outside of the churches (13,006 years from creation).
2011 AD—On May 21st, Judgment Day will begin and the rapture (the taking up into heaven of God’s elect people) will occur at the end of the 23-year great tribulation. On October 21st, the world will be destroyed by fire (7000 years from the flood; 13,023 years from creation).

Harold Camping arrived at 2011 year,for he believes that a day is as a thousand years to the Lord,which God told Noah yet seven days until the flood of waters is on the earth,7000 years,which started with the flood 4990 B.C.
4990 + 2011 = 7001,minus 1 year for there is no year 0,7000 years.
He calculated the month and day by saying that the 2nd month and the17th day when God shut the door of the ark and the flood came upon the earth,that in the Hebrew calendar is May 21,and starting May 21,1988,the Church age ended,and God finished using Churches and congregations of the world,and the Spirit of God left all Churches and Satan,the man of sin,entered the Churches to rule at that point in time,and judgment would be upon the Churches for 23 years,known as the tribulation period,and the resurrection of the saints would be after that tribulation period,May 21,2011,and is when God shuts the door to salvation to the world,7000 years after He shut the door to the Ark,and the flood came upon the earth.
May 21,2011,will be the day all the dead and alive that are right with God will be resurrected to heaven.
May 21,2011,will be the day that all the dead and alive that are not right with God will be on earth,and will all be tormented for 5 months,and then God will destroy the earth October 21,2011.
He arrived at this 5 month period,because the waters were upon the earth for 150 days,so he is comparing the whole end time resurrection of the saints,and punishment upon the earth to the ones not right with God,comparable with the flood,that took out the world,only 7000 years later,but his years of how long ago the flood was is inaccurate,but of course he could not predict anything no matter his time table of events.
He says that the last day of the feast of tabernacles is October 21,2011,and the last day of earth's existence,and God will destroy this creation and all the people who never experienced salvation in Jesus Christ along with it.
It sounds like Harold Camping is using Gematria,which endeavors to find hidden truths locked in literal terminology through numbers,which you can see all through his book,Time has an end,of his other dated predictions.
