I've come to a conclusion about this.
I think it all comes down to talking too much.
Everyone seems to have different views on the Bible. Each person is fairly confident that his interpretation is correct. And to tell you the truth, most of the time, both sides of the argument are equally convincing. Arguments are not good because they tend to lead to degrading comments and personal attacks. Talking too often usually leads to arguments. Giving opinions also leads to arguments.
I've spent my entire life talking too much and have made myself into an idiot because of that. Even humor tends to get out of hand. I don't know how many people I've seen hurt "harmless jokes." I think the best thing to do is to be silent, be serious, be caring, and keep my opinions to myself.

In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
1 Peter 3:10
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
