hmm well if they're Christians they wouldn't make up dates because they are not God and God hasn't given a date, in fact Jesus Himself said only the Father knew.

The MOON MAN here.. tried to say when we get another big quake here.. and it didn't happen. Everyone got really on edge and worried about gettin hit again in Christchurch city.

the thing didn't happen and the moon man really looked like he had been thinkin moon ish :)

You know what they use to do in the OT to people who got their prophecy/prediction wrong?

Stoned em to death!

God doesn't seem to be going that way now.. but the principle remains in that people who claim ot be modern prophets and get one prediction wrong... are not prophets at all.

Whether it happens Saturday or tomorrow or a century from now, it doesn't really matter. The question is always day by day. . .Am I ready? All this speculating is a waste of time. Here is a man who says he has spent so much time on this that he has neglected and alienated his own family, that is wrong. Just a side note, this is the same guy who predicted the end of the world in 2004 as well, so I wouldn't put too much stock in his ideas.

Not everyone who calls themselves Christian are really Christian.

The earth will net end for at least 1007 years. We have that much prophesy to go through yet. once the covenant is confirmed. and that has not happened yet. So if anyone says the world is going to end. They must not trust. or know God very well.

I will be short. It's all a lie. The Holy Scripture says:
No one knows about that day or hour,
not even the angels in heaven, nor the
Son, but only the Father(Mark 13:32)
How may know man? May God bless you, PRAIASEmyGOD. :)

PRAIASEmyGOD, Error is error, heresy is heresy, and sin is sin, no matter who it occurs among; and these followers of Harold Camping coming "in the name of Christ" should know better. Since no one can know, it is wrong to even try to know the day or the hour. No matter how much a person makes for himself on radio, tv, books, ministries, denominations. This folly should not occur and shall not occur among true Christians. End times is better left to the judgment and the mercy of God, of God the Father, Who alone knows. In Erie PA Scott R. I see this same verse interpreted incorrectly and thrown out again and again, and quite frankly it makes me angry.

Mark 13:

31Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

32But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

When do the heavens and the earth pass away? After the 1000 year reign of Christ on earth. What hour is it then that no man knoweth? When God will destroy the heavens and the earth! Jesus is not talking about the time of His return, otherwise Daniel wouldn't give a perfect time-line in the Bible. Sometime after the 1000 year reign of Christ, God will destroy the heavens and the earth.

Sorry, that came out sounding rather prideful. I once held the same interpretation, though I held it loosely. It never made sense to me that no man can know the day or the hour despite the Bible giving so much information on when it would occur. When I finally came upon the correct interpretation I was overjoyed! Since then I am increasingly bothered by how often I see people use this verse the way that they do.

It seems to me that people have a clear disinterest in their Lord's Return, and this is not acceptable. The Bible says this:

1 Thes 5:4
1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Paul says clearly that we are "not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief."

But when people continually say: "No man knows the day or the hour" it becomes clear - to me anyway - that these are the ones most likely to experience being "overtaken as a thief." These appear to be the Virgins without enough oil for their lamps.

Many times people throw out scripture and take it for what it says without looking at context. Thanks for pointing that out for us :)

The Bible says that if someone makes a false prophecy in the name of the Lord and it doesn't come true then he is a false prophet(paraphrasing). I think it's Deuteronomy 18:22? The people who are saying the world will end on a specific date have made the same prediction at other times and well..obviously it didn't happen so we have no reason to believe it now just because they pull up alot of opinionated meanings from numbers in the Bible.
