    Default How can you say you love God and hate your brother?

    1John 2:10

    In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest:

    Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God,

    nor is he who does not love his brother.

    It goes on to say,

    For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,

    not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother.

    And why did he murder him?

    Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.

    14) We know that we have passed from death to life,

    because we love the brethern.

    He who does not love his brother abides in death.

    15) Whoever hates his brother is a muderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

    16) By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us.
    And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

    17)But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need,

    and shuts up his heart from him,

    how does the love of God abide in him?

    18) My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue,

    but in deed and in truth.

    What does it mean to hate you brother?

    1Cor. 13:4-7 says what love is and can show us what love is not!

    Love is patient, hate is being impatient!

    Love is kind, hate is unkind, rude Etc.....

    Love is not jealous,

    You get the picture!

    Why is it that most churches lack this kind of Love?

    We are to Love!

    We are to love even our enemies!

    No matter where we are or what we are doing we are to Love!

    Our mercy is to out weigh our judgements!

    We are to love our neighbor as ourselves!

    Isn't it Gods goodness that leads us to repentance?

    How can we say we love our brother and then speak a word of judgement agaisnt him, judgement brings death, not only to our brother, but to us.

    The word says we are judged with the same measurement.

    Love is the key to seeing faith work in a persons life,, even if they are sinning, it is the love that brings life, to death and changes darkness into light.

    Love looks past the outside and looks with the eyes of Jesus,

    He laid His life down for the sinner, to show us Love,

    God is Love!

    If we are to show people the face of God, we must show them Gods goodness!

    If we are saved by grace, are we not suppose to treat eachother the way Jesus has loved us!

    Undeserved Favor!

    Are any of us without sin yet?

    I think we all need to practice righteousness, it takes time to get it right!

    Without love, we are nothing, our words become meaningless.

    Abraham had two sons,

    One of the slavewoman, and one from the freeborn woman!

    Which one are you? Gal.4 and 5

    You can judge them by thier fruits?

    Do you love or hate your brother?

    Do your words bring life or death?

    Make sure that you bring life and love

    Not

    comdemnation and death!

    Luke 6:46-49

    "But why do you call Me 'Lord,'

    and not do the things which I say?

    Whoever comes to Me,

    and hears My sayings and does them,

    I will show you whom he is like:

    He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock.

    And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it,

    for it was founded on the rock.

    But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation,

    against which the stream beat vehemently;

    and immediately it fell.

    And the ruin of that house was great."

    God Bless my mom, she put cor.13. 4-7 in front of the toilet in our bathroom. So you had no chioce but to read it often. She is gone now to be with our Lord Jesus but I have followed her lead and now have it posted there also. It has been always in my heart because of this. I reciently heard someone say that your love for the Lord is measured by the one you love the least. Something to think about? God bless, pickles

    My great grandmother had it in her house when I was growing up, I could tell she lived it too!

    I could not help but think of the when Jesus said, if you've done it unto the least of these you've done it unto me!

    Love is not jealous,
    exodus20;
    Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

    Your a mother what would you do if your kid ran around calling a rock on the ground or a wood carving mother all day.

    Depending on the translation you use to study 1 cor 13 it says love is not jealous, or full of jealousy.
    I have read this one in Exodus and wondered, it could be that it is not the same because God could not be full or jealousy.

    I know what your saying but i guess maybe to understand you would have to look at it in God eyes.eziek8

    And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.

    He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.

    And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.
    And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.

    So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood

    Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.

    He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.

    Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
    And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

    Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

    Loving God is to see things as he does and knowing he is just.
    I hope this helps
    Love a friend in God
    Thank again for reminding us about love

    Why can't people see and understand?

    If our fight is not against flesh and blood,
    why are so many christians fighting against eachother?

    I can't help but think of the scripture,

    A house divided will not stand!

    I also think of 1Cor. where the question is asked is Christ divided?

    What unity of Faith are we suppose to come to as a body?

    Those are 'right on' questions. I would like to hear people answer the last two especially.

    This is a easy read and inline with what you said

    Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

    Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

    In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

    Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

    That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

    Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

    And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

    that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

    And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

    Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

    And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

    Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

    And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

    Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

    Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

    Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

    Be patient sister,Longsuffering
