We work wearily with our own hands to earn our living. We bless those who curse us/ We are patient with those who ABUSE us. 1 Corinthians 4:12 (NLT)

I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believeryet indulges in b sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is ABUSIVE, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don't even eat with such people. 1 Corinthians 5:11 (NLT)

Okay, so I have a question. Is the top verse dealing with a nonbeliever and the bottom verse dealing with a person who claims to be a believer? Please explain. Thanks!

No. The WHOLE of Scripture is written to the BELIEVERS. Every book of the Bible is addressed to either one specific believer or a group of believers.

Non-believers don't even READ the Bible unless they do so and take something out of context to try to prove something for their own agenda.

It's adressing believers. For if he was speaking about non believers it would be a major contradiction cause jesus spent all his time with such people.

If you read on just a little bit the verses that come after the verse you quote affirm this ;

1 Corinthians 5:12-13

New Living Translation (NLT)

12 It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church (christians)** who are sinning. 13 God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.”

we should have patience and pray for them but we should not place ourselves as a stumbling block and give them the opportunity to sin against us and abuse us either. the Bible says if you have two shirts to give one to your brother not both. We should as God guides us and leads us to do, but God does not require we sacrifice all to anyone except HIM. if he entrust us to take care of thing then we should take care of them and not just give in to the world's pressures and ideas of what a Christian "should be" Either God's love is unconditional or its not.

Matthew 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

the Bible says if you have two shirts to give one to your brother not both.
Where did you get that from Ananda? This is what I've read;

Luke 6:29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

there is a difference between giving to someone who is truly in need and someone who is just greedy. I'll find the other verses later.

Proverbs 30:14-16
New King James Version (NKJV)
14 There is a generation whose teeth are like swords,
And whose fangs are like knives,
To devour the poor from off the earth,
And the needy from among men.
15 The leech has two daughters—
Give and Give!

There are three things that are never satisfied,
Four never say, “Enough!”:
16 The grave,[a]
The barren womb,
The earth that is not satisfied with water—
And the fire never says, “Enough!”

Jesus commands what people are able to give and do. He does not command people to be stupid and do whatever others demand of them and follow blindly someone demanding that they sacrifice all their goods and join some type of cult.

Luke 3:10-13
New King James Version (NKJV)
10 So the people asked him, saying, “What shall we do then?”
11 He answered and said to them, “He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise.”

now where does it say you should walk around naked and starved? we are not talking about cloaks which are worn OUTSIDE of the tunic but tunic which is basically shirt and pants for us. I'm referring to the basics. food and enough clothes to cover you so you are not naked.
