The Bible seems to make night out to be bad. Light is always a positive thing.

Lately, I've been getting more into black clothing, black leather, dark glasses, etc. Okay don't picture a motor cycle dude with tatoos and and piercings. I'm not talking about emo either. I am just really starting to like black.

Also, I love dark "gloomy" rainy days with fog and stuff. I hate the day, but love going out in the night. I mean I absolutely love being outside, going to concerts, parties, etc that are at night. And I'm not a vampire lol.

Is this bad? What does the Bible say?

Yeah I guess you're right. I had someone teasing me about my preffering night. They said "You know what the Bible says about people who like the night?" That kind of left me confused.

Well I don't think the bible meant people who literally like nighttime hours over daylight hours. Just that night is used as a metaphor for evil a lot of times. Like light is for good. But light and darkness in and of themselves aren't good or bad. Both were created by God. And God saw that it was good.

I'm the same way, I like black or darker clothing (not into the leather stuff but whatever blows your hair back). I think I look better wearing black t shirts than white t-shirts. And I also prefer nighttime to daylight. I love the stars and the moon and I could sit out there forever in the cool breeze watching the sky.

Also I seem to be a lot less self conscious after the sun went down. I'm a pretty self conscious person but my anxiety tends to settle when it's dark out. I feel more relaxed. So yeah...

I wouldn't say it was about being self-conscious for me. I think it's more of the nightlife thing that I like. And you're right, there's nothing like seeing the moon and stars at night.

I think “light” refers to doing things out in the open, where “dark” refers to doing things in secret. We should live in the light. We shouldn’t be doing things we are too ashamed to do out in the open.

Jesus is the light. Are you depressed? Are you sleeping in till the afternoon? I like black clothes. What kind of parties and concerts? Christian ones? Or ones of the world?

Hey, you know what, God created the color black just as much as he created the other colors. I know other Christians who really like black.

(I know you're not trying to be Goth, but this is still a helpful article What is the Christian perspective on Goth? How should Christians view the Gothic movement?)

I like rainy days a lot to (it's cool when it's humid and rainy while the sun's still out)
God wired us different ways to cater to different interests. I don't see a problem with liking rainy days, or even nighttime. I think we've painted those things out to be "evil," when really they're good (everything God made was good).

So, in conclusion, it's not bad for you to like this stuff. In fact I actually am able ot pay better attention to the Bible when it's nighttime (not many people around to distract). Then in the daytime I'm able to talk to people (day-people) about Christ and what I read.

Light/day is often times synonymous with Truth, or glory. It's a metaphor that makes it easier to portray an idea to readers.

A prime example of this is Psalms 67:1. "God, make Your face to shine on us, revealing Yourself, so that I can see You and have direction."

The psalmist is using light as a metaphor. Think of being in a dark room. You can't see anything, right? But let's say that someone decides to shine a flashlight into the room. Your eye is attracted to the light, and now you can see the things all around you. The psalmist is talking about that. It's completely metaphorical.

Psalms also mentions that we should consider God's Word the "light", so we do not trip and fall in the world, which is symbolic of darkness.

God knew what he was saying when He had the Bible written. Had he felt the need to mention "Oh, and by the way, don't get into the habit of wearing black", or, "Thou shalt not be a nightowl" He would have understood the relevance in our modern-day society, and mentioned it. But I really don't recall reading any such thing.

I used Light as Metaphor of Truth (Forerunner Commentary) :: Bible Tools as a resource answering you.

Hope that helped.

i agree with this guy. :) lol don't let people get to you, you know they were probably ribbing you about "you know what the Bible says" wise crack. lol.

it says the above statement. quote it back to them next time they say something. You can do anything that does not go against the laws of God and God made day and NIGHT. :) He said both of them were good. who are we to gainsay God? plus the stars and the night sky is bueatiful :) it reminds you that God's heavenly host outnumbers the stars in the sky. ten of thousands angels the book of Revelations says. isn't that amazing?

Night represents darkness...in which things are HIDDEN from view. The OCCULT is all about the night because the occut (which means 'hidden') they have SECRETS. Jesus says to choose life....choose light.

So there is your answer, OP.

I have always loved the night better than the day. I have always loved dark gloomy days over bright sunny days. I dont see anything wrong with this at all.

I have had to like night time hours due to having many jobs during that time. I do not think it matters if what time of day you like best day or night as long as you get enough rest for your health.

Light... does not automatically equate to goodness... and darkness does not automatically equate to evil.
