Nobody can teach you. You must have a revelation. I am not saying that you don't need to listen but it is like someone who has a gift for playing the piano & music teacher sees that & hones that skill. You should not depend on any human, that could lead to deception.

The bible says in 1Jhn 'Little children...you need not that any man should teach you because you have the Spirit in you.' That means that it is a spiritual thing you can not learn it from a natural source. If God is using someone to minister truth to you, it is already in you & there should always be an inward witness. There should be a knowing on the inside of you that this agrees with your spirit. You should develop a good amount of knowledge of what the scripture says so that every time you listen to someone it should automatically cause you to remember scriptures you have already read.

To have that, you need to spend a lot of time in the Word, Worship & Prayer. So here is my advice:

Rely on the scriptures to believe that God has given you the understanding by faith. One that was very important to me was when I read these words of Jesus after being filled with the Holy Spirit & spending many hours in prayerful study. I started turning off the tv, not hanging out with my cousins laughing, being bored by myself but I thought it was worth more than money,
So principle one - God honors sacrifice that proves your earnestness to know the truth & please Him.

As I was saying I read for the umpteenth time "It is given you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom"

Here Jesus was speaking to His disciples but I was standing there & heard those words enter my heart. I knew He was speaking to me. This understanding from the Holy Spirit filled my heart so strongly that I just began to read with more earnest & thank God for the understanding every chance I got. I did not understand anything any better except that it was already given to me, I just acted on that by faith I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, got back in my room, read for a while & thanked God, I would pick up the bible in the middle of my house cleaning read something, raise my hands & thank God for the understanding.

This went on for maybe 4 or more months before I felt power come over me & the understanding of the books I was reading over & over again just filled me.

Principle two - you must be faithful to stay at it without giving up.

Many times I felt foolish & the thought would come that it was not working. I know the Spirit gave me so much grace to believe that this was laughable. Yet there are many more things I had to seek God for that this principle is always useful. You must not give up.

Jesus said, the measure of thought & study you give to the Word, is the measure of virtue you will get from it.

Virtue is more than knowledge it is power to do it.
Last principle - the Word has the power in it, it fulfills itself.

I am not talking about the faith to have a million dollars or build a huge mansion or buy a Mercedes Benz!

Ok, one more principle - You must seek God to know His will for whatever He wants you to do, so then when you feel that He has placed a desire in your heart, then you can claim it & have faith for it.
He that cometh to God must believe that He exists & that HE IS A REWARDER OF EVERYONE THAT SEEKS HIM
This is the part of the scripture on having faith to please God that few quote on TBN.

If God did not tell Abraham He would make him rich & give him many children, he would have no faith, the bible could never tell us , Abraham believed God unless God told him. Many people listen to pastors who tell them God wants them to be rich & give all their money away to them as an act of faith, making the pastors rich. I once wanted that, I gave so much money away I had very little in the bank I have seen men & women lose their business, become depressed & commit suicide because they feel they don't have enough faith or something is wrong with them.

Unless you feel God wants you to start a new nation, there is probably not going to be a million zillion dollars coming to you from heaven. Do not give your money away to false preachers who promise you riches.

The bible teaches we should give to take care of the needs of the pastor , not to make him a millionaire & some are billionaires. We are taught to give mainly to our brothers & sisters in need. Paul said, & when you have a need & they have extra they can then give to you so nobody has lack but all share.
Ok, I hope I did not offend you in anything here.

This is basically what George Fox, founder of the Quakers, believed and taught. That as believers we are to learn to rely on the Holy Spirit for both instruction and anointing seeing as the church of his era was lead by professional preachers who took the job not out of the calling or anointing of God but because they got a regular paycheck from the government sponsored Church of England, who only looked at your your educational background and family reputation as credentials.

it seems as if you do admit the piano pupil needs a teacher to start him on his way. Also it would make sense if the gifted pupil could play music from past eras like Mozart and Beethoven and Jazz too from bygone days.

That is like the Catholic Church that teaches both revelation and tradition. Revelation through prayerful scripture reading and prayers and tradition of past teachers of the church.

No star pupil can learn to play or compose without learning the basic and what came before. You seem to admit this.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT. THE WORD SAYS WE MUST BE BORN AGAIN OR WE WILL
NOT SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD. WE MUST BE BORN OF THE WATER AND THE
SPIRIT. IT IS GOD WHO OPENS OUR EYES AND TEACHES US. AND SHOWS US
REVELATIONS. GOD BLESS YOU SIS!

Learning from the Holy Spirit is not opposed to or contradictory to learning things from Scripture from human teachers. The NT lists teachers as one of the ministries of Christ's Church. Acts 8:30-36 shows that St. Philip taught the Ethiopian the meaning of the Bible passage in Isaiah chapter 53. If all the Ethiopian needed was the Holy Spirit, this passage would be false and he would not have needed a man, St. Philip, to teach him. The passage in 1 St. John doesn't contradict this passage in Acts. An inward witness must always agree with all of the Scriptures and the witness of the Holy Spirit in the form of the actual words and teachings of the Scriptures. And this often requires a human teacher to tell us what the Bible means.
Take care. God bless you. In Erie PA Scott Harrington

PS True men and women of God should not be making thousands, millions, or billions of dollars for their teachings. Or at least that is my opinion, and I think that I have the Spirit of God.[

You have Saul who was basically brought into the faith by disciples but all his revelation came from Christ Himself, those are few & far between. That is one sign of an Apostle. No, I am not saying rely on the Holy Spirit exclusive of those who are called to 5 fold ministry.. Yes, Hearer, you seem to understand me. You can not have one without the other to become a mature believer or as Paul wrote still need to be taught when you ought to be teachers. Jesus said, "How long must I bear you, how long must I be with you?"
There are too many weak & carnal believers, they are the ones who watch every minster on tv & are attracted to those who have large congregations & send them their money. I know of one student in our class who never studied when he went home, he would barely glance at his notes before a test during lunch break & get straight A's, He made me laugh, this was the Science stream of our high school, we were supposed to be the cream of the crop But the only thing that really separated us from the vocational & art students, unlike that one young man, was long hours studying & heading for the libraries for extra information to add to what we heard in class from the teacher, We were the students who corrected teachers who just read from their notes which they had written years ago. You will never achieve that top honor depending only on what the teacher has to say, they can be wrong & they do not do the markings for the O or A level exams.
Study to show yourself approved unto God, a WORKMAN that needeth not reproof, We are not born again in a lost & dying world to listen to false teachers hold up Donald Trumps book & their own on living a better life now, Christ is the fullness of all knowledge, I'm not putting down studying other things like finances but it has taken the place of sound doctrine. These soft peddled worldly self improvement lectures suit those who have no passion to seek HIM!!
Paul prayed for that the eyes of OUR understanding to be enlightened, that we would receive revelation about Jesus Christ. You see, you can not know Christ apart from the Word.
My favorite scripture for my young years -
Matthew 11:12 (Amp)
And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize--a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion].

The goal of all teaching should be this, to abide in Jesus Christ. This is what the Spirit teaches us. If anyone is teaching anything other than to live in Jesus, then they not teaching from and in the Spirit.

We have life in Jesus.

Good words sister,

In Christ,
Vic
