If you had a question for me, wouldn't you ask me? But if you ask others about me, you don't desire to know the truth about me, and if you believe other's opinions about me, how would you believe my own words about me?

But if someone knew me, they have permission to speak about me, because they know the truth about me. And if I were to write something, they would know what I meant and they would know the truth of it, because they know me. They know my mind, because I share it with people who desire to know, who ask. They know me, but a stranger could not know me, in truth. They could presuppose or interpret all day long, but they would not know me. They are not my friends. They are strangers. So, who is approved with me? Who desires to know ME, and not those silly questioners who have NO DESIRE TO KNOW ME??

Don't be so silly!!!

And so, avoid these silly questions people have about God, because if they wanted to know the Truth, they would have asked him. Or maybe they don't believe he is real. Or maybe their prayers aren't heard. If you want to know about Jesus, ask him. This is prayer. This is how we maintain a healthy relationship. But if you don't ask, how can you receive? But if your intentions are evil, you will be rejected. Humble yourself and seek the Lord in prayer.

Stop asking and entertaining silly questions.

May Jesus bless you and keep you.

Not only is He the only truthful person in creation, He is also the one who loves us truly. And yet we really don't know Him. This is not His fault.

some people don't think their prayers are heard because they listen to the lies people around them speak instead of God's words. they think they have to ask others and trust other people instead of trusting God. they feel they are unworthy and those around them enjoy the power and instead of teaching them how to pray and truly seek God they soak up the other people's worship. Sometimes it is because they do not know how to pray themselves and sometimes it is because they chose self over God.

so if someone asked you how do you pray, would you answer or tell them they are asking silly questions? If you would answer what would it be?

It would be to pray in the Holy Spirit.

And if you do not have the Holy Spirit, it would be to pray asking for Him to come and make Himself at home in their heart, God living in them.

And then I would teach then to worship God in Spirit and in truth, by abiding in Christ. And once they have the Holy Spirit I would teach them how to read scripture in the Spirit, in His light, in His teaching, learning how to hear His voice in scripture, so that when they are hearing Him clearly, they can have scripture live in them, by His very life in them.

By then, they would know how to follow God.

Everyone who is lead by the Spirit of God is a child of God. (By the way, I just quoted scripture for you. LOL)

lol I requested that you quote scripture not so much for me but for those who are seeking truth. it prevents misunderstanding and keeps people from jumping to the wrong conclusions and obsuring the message from God. :)

But thanks for thinking of me and I actually agree with every thing you said in your above statement,

Except I would add they have to believe in their hearts and confess with their mouths that God loved them so much He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for their sins and rose again to be their Lord and savior. They have to repent and turn from their sins and THEN pray for the Holy Spirit to come reside in their hearts :)

Ramon: I was thinking about your post and I've always believed there is no such things as a silly question. As a teacher I like questions, it shows that the students minds are working and seeking knowledge. However, I see the point you are trying to make. Some people ask questions but are not really seeking answers but to cause trouble. two different people could speak the exact same words to a question and mean it totally differently and for totally different reasons. one to learn and another to cause strife and contentions. I guess that is why the Holy Spirit is so important to be able to discern between those who truly seek to do the will of Our Father and those who seek to cause trouble. To see when it is with a contentious spirit the question is asked or with a spirit striving to learn.

I don't know if Jesus ever told people they had silly questions but He did show us how He often answered a question with a question when He knew the other people were being contentious. do you remember this story?

Matthew 21
23 Now when He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people confronted Him as He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority?”
24 But Jesus answered and said to them, “I also will ask you one thing, which if you tell Me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things: 25 The baptism of John—where was it from? From heaven or from men?”
And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say to us, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’ 26 But if we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the multitude, for all count John as a prophet.” 27 So they answered Jesus and said, “We do not know.”
And He said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

you see they knew the answer but did not answer one because of their disbelief the other because of their fear of the crowd.

Well, the funny thing is that they will not believe in their heart without the witness of the Holy Spirit. And the way Paul stated it was confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead.

I don't know about anyone else, but from the first moment that the Holy Spirit drew me to Him, I knew in my heart that He was raised from the dead.

The only questions that Jesus did not like, that He took offense with, were those which challenged Him, His honesty and sincerity. In other words, the questions which questioned who and what He is. The ones who asked these kind of questions usually did not get answers to their questions, but rather statements which showed how their hearts were wrong before God.

The important thing to me, as I have heard and learned from the Lord, is to seek the Spirit first, then all things will be added unto you. For in my heart and mind, the Spirit is the kingdom of heaven. For just as Jesus taught Nicodemus, we cannot even see the kingdom of heaven unless we have been born of the Spirit.

He did answer some of them. for example:

Matthew 12
24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub,[f] the ruler of the demons.”
25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 27 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. 29 Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. 30 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.

Yes, but as a general rule, He answered them with things that they really did not want to hear.

He upset their applecart.

Ramon, you're right. I'm sorry, I guess I'm one of those people who've been asking silly questions. I've been too focused on me and my problems, and I've been handling those problems very immaturely. Sometimes when I asked lots of questions I guess I was just complaining. Even though deep down I knew the answer to some of the questions, I didn't want that to be the answer because it hurt. I kept telling myself that there had to be an easier answer.

But then there's other people who ask questions for more important reasons. I think sometimes people ask alot of "silly" questions because they just need someone to talk to who cares. There's this one person I used to talk to who asked the same things over and over again. I think he knew the answer to the questions he kept asking, but kept asking it because he wanted someone to care. I don't think he felt comfortable talking with people about unimportant things like the latest movies and sports because he wanted more than that. He wanted someone who would love him and care for him because no one did. He was afraid to go out and talk to people and make friends because he was so afraid of being rejected and hurt like he had been so many times before. He was looking for someone to care, but he wasn't getting it. He spent so much time alone and listening to music that only made him feel worse. He lost all interest in life. He didn't have any motivation to view life in a positive way because no one cared. He said he felt like everyone could see what he was feeling but didn't care. He told me that he would break down and just cry every day. I think the real answer to the question he needed was someone who would love him. That was all he needed. It breaks my heart when I think about it because I didn't give him what he needed.

The point I'm trying to make here is that we shouldn't judge people's hearts as to why they ask questions.

Okay, that sounded like I just contradicted myself there. I meant to say that we shouldn't be so quick to presume the worst about someone because we don't know all the reasons why they do things.

:):):):):) Very right my friend. It is one thing to ask a question in search of an answer in truth. I had a friend who kept asking questions, even the same ones to test me, to see if it was legit. He was always testing me, and not one of his questions were what I am talking about. He really did want to know what it was all about. He would joke when I was serious, but I could tell he was searching. This is not what I am talking about.

It is like when the people questioned Jesus. Some did in pure heart wanting to know the answer, but some did it to tempt him. Though some do it to tempt, they may actually be seeking to know the truth. But for someone who TRULY TRULY wants to know, they will seek themselves, and not depend on people's opinions. If a person think they might find the truth from a person, that is the wrong way. Even before I was converted by Jesus, I knew people can't be trusted for ANYTHING. Not even my family, as they disappoint me too.

If we figure people might shed some light on the truth, we are in the wrong way. We need to go to Jesus for ourselves, because many deceivers are springing up, and if we don't get it from him ourselves, we will also be deceived. And only Jesus can make it clear, even when we are tempted.

May Jesus bless you.

Also, I think sometimes people ask alot of questions because Satan has confused their minds. (He is the author of confusion, right?). I was just looking at the questions I've posted since I first came on here, and I was thinking wow, I was so confused and messed up with all these things in my life (things I still regret and hope people will forgive me for). It's like Satan and sin can make us so blind to the truth. We think everything is hopeless when hope is standing right in front of us, only we're too blinded to see it. So yeah, I do agree that a person should turn to God for the truth, but we do need other people to answer our questions and help show us where we're wrong. Someone may have a problem of some kind in their life that is obvious to everybody except the person who has it, and if no one tells that person he might never realize it.

Wait i don't get!

When we go to church, we go there to seek God right?. And we believe what the pastor says?.. Isn't that like learning about God from your pastor?. Is that a sin?

So should we all stop going to church and start seeking God alone, in our houses?...

you know when I ask or answer questions I am not looking really for "answers" from people so much as their attention and love. It is the comfort and confidence found in that you know others are listening that adds to your faith so you can turn to God and believe and trust that He will answer.

Therefore I believe questions should be answered with love and pointing people towards GOD who has the only real and truthful answers.

Its like medicine, what cures one person may kill another only God knows the difference.

How are you. May Jesus bless you.

My friend. Neither a pastor, nor a friend, nor a teacher, nor a prophet, nor an apostle can give you the words of eternal life. Jesus Christ has the words of eternal life. The words of a pastor, or a friend, or a teacher, or a prophet, or an apostle are ALL measured against the words of Jesus Christ. So, when people come together to fellowship, everything is measured against the truth.

I am not saying a person is a judge of the truth, because maybe they just don't understand. And when I first began in Jesus, I didn't understand much, so the things I did not understand I did not actively involve myself with, neither did I judge them, neither did I praise them. I waited and asked the Lord if it was true or not.

So when you go to a church, you must know this, you are not subject to the pastor when it comes to salvation. All people are subject to Jesus Christ. EVERYONE!! Many people put the pastor up as the head of the church, and many pastors have assumed that position, but they are NOT the head. Every pastor, if he is a pastor worthy, should ALWAYS direct you to Jesus. And if you earnestly desire to know the Truth you yourself would have gone to Jesus FIRST!! So that when the pastor speaks, it would be more of a confirmation rather than a revelation, as revelation comes by the Lord himself and not by the words of men.

It is good to fellowship, but Paul wrote of what type of fellowship we ought to have, and it is very dangerous to have fellowship with devils. Because of this, many Christians are suffering from wicked leaders and rulers in churches. Because of this the people of God have begun to serve idols. Because of this Jesus Christ is put on the back burner, and cares of this life have been maximized in churches. The gospel of Jesus Christ is old news, and temporary feel good gospels are set for the means of salvation.

JESUS CHRIST HAS THE ANSWERS!! ASK HIM!! AND HE WILL REVEAL THE TRUTH TO ANYONE WHO DESIRES TO KNOW THE TRUTH. AND HE WILL MAKE THEM FREE!!!

May Jesus bless you.

Jesus Christ has all the answers my friend. ALL OF THEM!! It is a beautiful thing when Jesus reveals who he is. And it is more awesome if no man can get the glory in it. People are limited. VERY!! And even the most wise is a fool with God.

I had heard men, and men were vanity. But when I heard Jesus, I heard the words of ETERNAL LIFE!! But the sad thing is that those words of eternal life put a mark of death on me. Those words of eternal life meant the death of my flesh, and I was sad. And I am learning more and more and more that the illusions of this life are death. The only good news is Jesus Christ. This world would be dark without him. I asked the Lord to open my eyes to see what sin is really like in his eyes. I asked him to show me the illusion of this flesh so I can understand why he hates sin.

And God is far more holy than we know. I cannot comprehend it fully. I will let him do his will, and I will just trust him. Indeed, he conforms us to his image, even to the likeness of his death, so that in the same way we can be resurrected with him. Love conquers all fear.

May Jesus bless you.
