2 Samuel 14 And David danced before The Lord with all his might;
verse 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of The Lord, with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet verse 16 David was leaping and dancing before the Lord............ I wonder how many people would disassociate themselves , not allow this great man of God in their 'clique' or their home ,let alone their church.

But CMW I get what you're saying. Someone who's expressive for God is a good thing.

In that setting I'd say it was ok for him to go crazy like that. But we also have to realize that in the context of church there may have to be some 'order'. Not because crazy expressions of praise are wrong, but because everything has its time and place.

I'll probably get some flack for using this verse, based on certain things I've said in other threads. So I'll clarify,I'm not against prophecy, I just think it has its place.

Now here are my verses...

1 corinthians 14

33For God is not a God of disorder but of peace

39Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. 40But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

David was a great man of God and I think if he did that same thing here today, we would probably throw something over him and bring him inside and rejoice with him, before the authorities came. I think we would do the same on the streets of Jerusalem. I understand what you are saying about disassociating from a man of God because of his outward appearance and the liberty and expression of joy (that was not exactly orthodox) in having the ark of God's presence back home. His wife (Michal) did not like it and she let him know it, but she did not understand what the ark represented and did not worship the God of David nor bore David a son.

God inhabits the praises of his people.
