Proverbs 11:14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

I think we should all consider listening to other people, especially Bible believeing people. Christianity is full of good advice and cousel if we listen to other people.

Johnathan, this is correct, but scripture also says to study to show yourself approved. If you want to listen to others, ask God for discernment to make sure what they speak is truly of God. Shalom

I agree with a caveat...
It is the responsibility of those who have been successful in their Christian walk to share reality based direction with those who are struggling. What I mean by that is - It is not enough to say to the poor "Go to work" when there are no jobs that will provide for them and their families - It is not enough to say to the frightened "fear not" without providing them with guidance and even protection from those things the fear.
People are quick to judge those in trouble and slow to take any sort of real action to help them. The idea of the "deserving poor" is NOT biblical an has NO place in genuine Christian practice. NO WHERE in the New testament is this idea put forward, rather it's very OPPOSITE is put forward. Yes, I know the whole " he who does not work should not eat passage" Read it in context - it pertains to pastors who talk a good talk but don't actually serve the Christian Community they are responsible for shepherding. Not to the poor.
Sorry about the rant. I feel better now LOL!
