I don’t claim to understand the Lord’s will concerning divorce and re-marriage. Perhaps these verses shed light on this:

[31] "It was also said, `Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.'
[32] But I say to you that every one who divorces his wife, except on the ground of unchastity, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery." Matt 5:31-32 RSV

You can also find that in Matthew 19. But I prefer KJV, saving for fornication, no divorce. Something to consider is that fornication is premarital and adultery is marital. Suprisingly to most people your reason for divorce might have to be something that happened before you married. This is completely is line with the Old Testament teaching Deuteronomy 22:14-21 If a man married a woman and found out she was not a "maid" or virgin he could complain. If he was lieing, they would chastise him, charge him money, and he could never get a divorce. If he was right and she was not a virgin when they married the men of the city would stone her to death. Very important part of the Jewish Law and proves that God is serious about fornication or premarital sex. Remember this is what God commanded that they do.
