No this IS just a cut and paste(which turned out as more of a chore then i though...beacuse it copied as one huge paragraph..haha...but i felt to post.) I gave the site that you can find this on.

No i do not beleive the 7 year peace started(well...eh..kinda...i mean..I think its spiritual, So..kinda hard to explain..and im not guna change the pace of the thread...though its my own..so..haha i guess i COULD.)...but Dates Are VERY interesting to me, and i think it will be a needed refference in the days to come, so I posted it here.

I thought that it was very cool, because it must have taken this guy a allot time to do. And it shows the time line of HOW the church got to the way it is now, with all the MAN MADE tradtions and such.(Catholic.protestant.etc...) Anyway. Just felt it would be of use.

It must have taken a long time to to put theses dates together but Jesus was born in 4 BC

Now it logically follows that if Jesus Christ lived (need it be said?), he must have been born. The Gospels tell us that his birth was shortly before Herod the Great died. Herod's death can be fixed with certainty.
Josephus records an eclipse of the moon just before Herod passed on. This occurred on March 12th or 13th in 4 B.C. Josephus also tells us that Herod expired just before Passover. This feast took place on April 11th, in the same year, 4 B.C. From other details supplied by Josephus, we can pinpoint Herod the Great's demise as occurring between March 29th and April 4th in 4 B.C.
It might sound strange to suggest that Jesus Christ was born no later than 4 B.C. since B.C. means 'before Christ.' But our modern calendar which splits time between B.C. and A.D. was not invented until A.D. 525. At that time, Pope John the First asked a monk named Dionysius to prepare a standardized calendar for the western Church. Unfortunately, poor Dionysius missed the real B.C./A.D. division by at least four years!
Now Matthew tells us that Herod killed Bethlehem's babies two years old and under. The earliest Jesus could have been born, therefore, is 6 B.C. Through a variety of other time indicators, we can be relatively confident that the one called Messiah was born in either late 5 or early 4 B.C.

Man was created in the year 4004 b.c. and there is no year 0 so you have to add 1. We are in the year 6018 and the seventh day of creation- the Sabbath. I believe each day of creation was 6000 years, the generations of the heaven and the earth.Gen. 2:4

No offense, Susan, what you're saying is interesting but why should be take your word as gospel, when you don't even believe in the Gospel?

Perhaps she's Jewish which would account for some overlap of beliefs.

Yes, Lindsey's presentation pretty much sums up the college scene.
There was a blind man at my university many would get in discussions with. The word 'sin' kept coming up...I didn't have a clue what it meant or even was, it just seemed to prick, that's all I knew having a strict atheistic upbringing.

I was surprised when I found this video on Youtube about a week ago as I had never known of its existence. I didn't know Hal was a street apologist. I always thought he was just another televangelist living in his ivory tower. His life's work gained a lot more respect from me when I saw this.

I had that clip that was included in a larger video entitled something like 'The Jesus Movement' which went over the turbulence of the '60's and the early Jesus movement reaching into the 1970's. Josh McDowell was another one quite active on college campuses.

The apocryphal books were in the Bible long before the Council of Trent, (they are part of the Latin Vulgate, the Gutenberg Bible, the Wycliffe Bible, etc.,) but they were just made officially 'canonical' by the Catholic Church 1546. In fact, they were interspersed in the Old Testament and not even separated until Coverdale compiled his 1535 English Bible.

Looking through the list, So many changes since Jesus teachings. Jesus would not recognise Christians now.

Yes my adopted father was hardcore atheist, public schools brainwashed in evolution, mom never spoke
a word of religion, never went to church...so the word 'sin' was simply 'greek' to me.Strict mercy and grace twas.

I hope we all understand that when the birth of Jesus is spoken of, it's talking about the appearance of the Word of God from our perspective, not the first existance of The Word of God. Something can exist before it appears. From our perspective of the flesh it is true that The Word of God was born in earth at that time, but the Word of God has no beginning when we understand from the perspective of God. Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
