What happen to some people who claim to be Christian (meaning Christ like)? People should not call anyone names or trigger an argument with someone else especially a believer. As believers we are to think, act, and talk like Christ. He was the living example and we are to imitate His Image. Unbelievers love to talk about worthless and wasteful things, so why is there believers doing the same? As Christians the kingdom of heaven is amongst us it is before your eyes, meaning how we act and what we are and what we do is bringing heaven down to earth that's how heaven is among you. We are to do what citizens of heaven do and say and act. Now making mistakes are not a part of heaven for it is clear of sin but we possess it before the unbelievers.

My pastor was talking about duties of God (callings). Just because He received a prophecy once or twice doesn't make Him a prophet. He is in the office of a pastor. If God needs you to save someone by telling them about the love of Christ, that doesn't make you a official evangelist in office! If God called you to heal someone, then we do it. And prophecy again then prophecy. But sometimes we take it too far to where "I need a title" but not focusing on doing the will of the Father.

Brethren and sisters we should wake up if we are sleeping by getting back to God's word. We need to pray for each other if we have problems and fellowship. If a brother is weak in a area where you are strong in, then we must help the weaker. Not abuse the ones who come in this bible discussing and see hate, discouragement, slander, worthless discussions, and vain denominational practices. But we and our behavior should be in line with the word. If this have touched you, you might have been cut by the Sword. This is for all. The Sword is doubled edged on both sides; convicting the good and the evil.

Let's help with situation that we need help on and others. imitate Christ which is the Characters of God. If God be our Father and we His children, then we should act like our Father taking the same characteristics!

In Christ
Bryan

Amen, brother.. As a matter of fact, i get angry at all these threads, after i'm there for a while, i just don't reply again.. Because i find out that these threads or not to edify, they are to bring up irrelevant arguments, show that they know the bible more or attack other believers.. You see things like Jezebel, Prophet, Perfect,Proud.etc. I was going to post a similar thread, but thank God you did..

God bless you :)

I think we should just ignore the contentious ones and make and respond to threads that actually edify each other.

Like this is a Bible discussion forum. can we discuss the Bible and how it points to Jesus? maybe historical and cultural references? Or look at maps of the area together? Talk about prayers and how to effectively live lives in Christ? learn discernment and how to read the Bible in context?

that kind of thing you know?

I don't know discussion is fine but one I realize it has become an argument I try my best to disengage but I'm not always that great at it.

we all have different views on things but I don't think that is as important as learning to pray with each other and asking GOD what His truth is for nothing should be left to private interpretation.

Anyway, thanks Bryan for your words I think sometimes people take their eyes off Jesus and look to themselves and their "rightness"

have you heard this quote?

"The praying which makes a prayerful ministry is not a little praying put in as we put flavor to give it a pleasant smack, but the praying must be in the body, and form the blood and bones. Prayer is no petty duty, put into a corner; no piecemeal performance made out of the fragments of time which have been snatched from business and other engagements of life; but it means that the best of our time, the heart of our time and strength must be given. It does not mean the closet absorbed in the study or swallowed up in the activities of ministerial duties; but it means the closet first, the study and activities second, both study and activities freshened and made efficient by the closet. Prayer that affects one’s ministry must give tone to one’s life. The praying which gives color and bent to character is no pleasant, hurried pastime. It must enter as strongly into the heart and life as Christ’s “strong crying and tears” did; must draw out the soul into an agony of desire as Paul’s did; must be an inwrought fire and force like the “effectual, fervent prayer” of James; must be of that quality which, when put into the golden censer and incensed before God, works mighty spiritual throes and revolutions."

Amen, Tobby. I don't like the threads that devolve into sectarian name calling, where one person says to another, "You are a false prophet". If someone is false, God will judge them (him/her), but we are, none of us, called to judge others. God save us all from every sin and lead us not into tempation, but deliver us from the evil one; and cleanse us from every impurity, and save all of our souls, O Good One! LORD have mercy on us. AMEN.
