Churches have redefined "faithfulness" to mean, not actual loyalty, but believing that one is unconditionally forgiven for disloyalty. But most spouses would not buy this new definition of being faithful. "be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life."

The solution to past unfaithfulness is repentance and forgiveness, not just repentance or just forgiveness

Those who were once foolish can become faithful

Titus Ch 3"3 Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures... 4 But—“When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, 5 he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. 6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7 Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.” 8

Without grace I would not even have any faith. It's a gift of God. Without grace of God we would all go to hell.

people redefine many words so they are more comfortable with it. Repentance is not just saying your sorry what a watered down faith people like to have.

Repentance happens after two other stages of salvation have already happened through the grace of God.

1. awakening to the fact that this life, this world can not give them what they are seeking. finding out that God really does exist

2. conviction for all the sin and things they have done wrong in their life and how they have against God and His commandments (this is where a full understanding of God's law would be good but a lot of people like to gloss over and speed through this step)

3. repentance of ALL sin, a turning away and forsaking of everything that wars against the knowledge of GOD and His commandments, giving up control of your life and agreeing to OBEY God's laws and ways and asking for His forgiveness for your past sins and asking Him to keep you from future transgressions and temptations. Forgiving others for things they have done wrong to you. etc. (for some people this may take a long time, for others God through His grace makes it happen in an instant)

4. Abiding in Faith. not the head faith were you read and agree with what is written on the page but ask yourself is it true in YOU. Has the HOlY spirit said to YOU that you are HIs child? Has He told you in your heart that you are forgiven and do you BELIEVE it to be true?

not the devil's faith doing whatever to escape being tossed in hell

not the dead faith of rituals and works salvation but no faith in Jesus Christ, no personal relationship with the HOlY spirit in your heart.

no a Saving faith in your heart that is counted as righteous that Jesus died on the cross for YOUR sins, rose and is seated at the right hand of the father. with the testimony and witness from the HOLY Spirit that you are a child of God, sealed and sanctified in complete obedience to Christ.
that you are not only saved but you are being saved and you will be saved upon resurrection of the saints and Judgement day. it is not a one time thing but an eternal thing.

Do you have a saving faith?

how can you be faithful if you do not True faith to begin with?

I'm not calling out anyone, its a discussion you need to have with yourself and God, but if anyone needs prayer or someone to talk to they can always pm me. May God bless you and help you grow at whatever stage of salvation you are currently at.
