Really? Do you know how that person got into that humiliated, vulnerable spot in the first place? God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Sometimes He has to put us in a humiliating circumstance so that He can get our attention. Since you're not God, then you don't know why it happened. So be careful. What you wrote could be looked at as a judgment call.
Sir, there have been much much worse things said on this forum. Even moreso by believers. I came here because I was on the fence with my belief and I sought guidance. All I found here was prejudice, people feeling they are superior to others, people saying the Oklahoma Tornados his because of a Gay march that took place there, open bashing of other religions and cultures, and general belittling of others who have a different interpretation of a bible verse. People say e most awful things on here and when they get called up on it they just say 'oh its gods word not mine'. I even saw a topic where someone was convinced the devil was inside their computer!

If you want to convert people to Christianty and the word of GOD I would strongly suggest that you don't point them in this direction because the people on this site and their attitudes do no good for Gods work and will turn a lot of people away.

This site has really opened my eyes, and I will seek guidance elsewhere.

I'm sorry to hijack the thread Stephen but that remark about being careful about I write just pushed me over The edge.

Sorry, you need to understand that your statement was just like many others here. No different.

I understand I have stumbled into this thread when its in its DISCUSSION phase. But I believe no one scripture is good to share with unbelievers... I think the message is best to share, and let them embark scripture on their own.

To cram so verse's deemed 'the best' down a unbelievers throat... That turned me off Christianity for a while. I knew their intentions were pure. And they weren't meaning to cram them down my throat. But I took it that way...

Just point them toward the Gospel of John... And be there for them every turn of the way. Help them stay on track because they will have more questions then answers :p.

Katy, this might come as a surprise, but it isn't simply what Scriptures you use. It's about you, the believer, and the Holy Spirit that lives inside of you.

People are convicted (convinced) of their sins by the Holy Spirit. He does the work, we simply offer the vessel to be used.
Why am I being corrected on something I wrote almost 2 years ago when I first joined this site

Yes, I know it's the Holy Spirit that convicts and draws a person. At the time I wrote this thread I wanted to know of the best scriptures to share with a non believer. John 3:16 was perfect.

I just wanted to say this - Sometimes its a simply act of selflessness that will take us to him (that is what saved me). Other times it may be a scripture that LEADS us to him. Whatever it may be, its THE SEED that is planted and then its up to them to seek him from there.
Bless your heart for trying to find the best way to help this person and comfort them.
