Here's an interesting topic to discuss. I'm trying to find out more about this.

Anger is a sin, but not always. There is such a thing as righteous anger, which the bible does support. I think anger turns to sin when it is selfishly motivated.
Ephesians 4:26: “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath"

So, if we are His children, then His Holy Spirit abides within us; and when we see things that are just plain wrong, we get angry for the righteousness of God. God wants us to show love for others, but we are told to correct error when we see it, based on scriptures God has given us.

What are your thoughts on righteous anger?

Sometimes when someone is protecting himself, he might seem angry, but I think we are allowed to protect ourselves.

I'm not sure about protecting ourselves, but more about standing up for Christ when error is found. I know we are to love everyone.

It says in the bible that God is an understaniding God, if someone is provoked into anger, it is diffrent. He takes everything into account.

I havent acctually read this verse in context yet..but from the look of it atm i would read that no so much like righteous/unrighteous anger, but more like. When you angry, calm down dont do anything stupid that would be a sin ect....
i dont know...maybe its coz ive not read it in context yet, maybe its because im shattered and its really late here :p

If a man get's angry and loses control, its not righteous. men are not capable of righteousness, only God is.

If a man gets angry, he has to take it before God, never act out of anger.

For the people that wanna hide behind the Jesus got angry thing, Jesus is God. Jesus (God) exhibited righteous anger, he's the only one authorized to do that.
When the Apostle Peter chopped of that dude's ear, Jesus told him to stop. Mark chapter 14 verse 47, Luke chapter 22 verse 50 and John chapter 18 verse 10.

The wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God, James verses 19 and 20.

Also check out Galatians Chapter 5. The fruits of the Holy Spirit must be seen in us.

Several twisted personalities want to hide behind the righteous anger theory, my response is, dude (or lady), you are far from righteous.

If I upset some of the fragile people in here and hurt their little feeling's, please feel free NOT to pm me about it.
