Jeremiah 31:31-34
“Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. 33 “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the LORD, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

Given that Jeremiah states and the author of Hebrews quotes that this covenant is with the houses of Israel and Judah, and that the New Covenant is never applied to Gentiles in any passage of the New Testament (as far as I can think of off the top of my head), is the New Covenant only for Israel? The only passage I can think of right now where Gentiles and the New Covenant have any interaction is 1 Corinthians 11, when Paul instructs Gentiles on the proper observance of the Lord's Supper. Also, Paul is clear in Galatians 3 that Gentiles are reconciled to God on the basis of God's promises to Abraham in Genesis 12 and 22, not through the Mosaic covenant.

Gentiles are grafted into the vine, mosaic covenant has been fulfilled by the payment thereof by sin offering lamb of God. Comes back to abrahamic covenant of blessing and grace abounding thru Christ Jesus.

Does grafted into the vine necessarily mean participants in the covenant, though? The wording of Jeremiah 31 makes it clear that the New Covenant is new in relation to the Mosaic, not to the Davidic, Abrahamic or any other covenant. Since Gentiles were never participants in the Mosaic covenant, it seems odd that we should be counted as participants in its replacement.

I'm no theologian or scholar, mosaic law is blueprint for all man to reveal we are sinful. I don't know jonathon, I try and see things in a simple way of law and grace

grafted in...yes of coarse it does make us full participants. And its all fulfilled in Christ. The mystery
Paul revealed kind of explains why it doesnt just say "gentiles included" in Jer.

I agree. we can also say the new covenant although it has been given its power by Christ's death, and completely in affect today, it has not been completely fulfilled yet. because Isreal has not done what Jeremiah said they would do. Paul states this will happen when the time of the gentiles has come to an end. until then, Israel is blind.

blind because of unbelief. its no different for the gentile(rom11:21). so there is no unfulfilled parts, but those fulfilled in the eternal state. the believing remnant of Israel were(rom11:4-7) and have been in the new covenant.

Paul says in romans when the time of the gentiles is complete. the blindness will be removed from Israel. and they will return and c;laim Christ as their messiah. I am just taking apul at his word. And in doing so making jeremiah's prophesy completely fulfilled When jeremiah said "ISREAL will repent and return to God. And they they will not have to teach their neighbor to Know God. for the ALL, From the smallest to the greatest, will know God.

This has not happened yet. And no gentile is included in this part of the prophesy.

The part Paul spoke of in Romans 11. When the time of the gentile is fulfilled, and ALL isreal is saved, because their blindness has been removed.

1John2:27 but the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth.........

this has hapenned, some think the fulness of the gentiles means when every last gentile has come into the church...i dont think so.

yes it has happened. And Paul also said timothy had enough scriptural knowledge as a kid to be saved (this was probably before Christ even came) so I can not see how this supports your theory.

Paul made it clear. when the time of the gentiles ended. The jews will be restored. In fact he said ALL ISREAL WILL BE SAVED. (Just like jeremiah prophesied!) If this does not happen. Paul lied. It is that simple. so how then would we classify the end of the time of the gentiles?

Yes, the covenants are for Israel only. But true Israel is all of mankind.

Paul said fullness comes in...not ended

My theory? what would that be?

Are we talking about Jeremiah or Romans 10 and 11?

Where do we get this idea?
True Israel is not according to the flesh. Does not the bible say that Israel is His first born? Was he according to the flesh? The Story of physical Israel is set for us as an example as the reality is God has no respect of persons. For as many who sinned apart from the law shall also perish apart from it, as all those who sin under the law, shall be judged by it.

Time of the gentiles is fulfilled.

(Romans 1:16) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

All Israel is saved.

(Galatians 3:29) And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed [ISRAEL], and heirs according to the promise.

Friend....WHO is Israel?

You are surely not talking about people who decide to call themselves "Jews" or (even worse) be referring to the terrorist apartheid state of RothschildsVille that is a total abomination to God?

Got Dispy?
