An "electronic tattoo" could herald a revolution in the way patients are monitored and provide a breakthrough in computer gaming, say US scientists.

They used the device, which is thinner than a human hair, to monitor the heart and brain, according to a study in the journal Science.

The sensor attaches to human skin just like a temporary tattoo and can move, wrinkle and stretch without breaking.

well since the "root of all evil" is connected to the love of money, one can only assume that the mark of the beast will be connected to the same root because it involves 'buying and selling'.... (hence money) and will ultimately connect the one taking the mark to lucifer.
i'm still wondering tho how he 'causes all, rich and poor.. etc' to receive the mark. keyword: ALL

easy, once in power he and his government will change the world currency system by shifting to a digital system in the form of maybe a points system, so instead of being paid cash you will be paid in points...or whatever, to receive these points one will have to accept the microchip to access your points, it's the same as like today to get a job and be paid one must have a bank account...right? the company, majority anyway will not pay you cash anymore, so the same principle applies....so after he has made cash useless all will be forced to accept the mark...because without it, you just won't be able to shop and buy stuff or sell anything especially your services what you earn a living from.
The sad part is that most will accept this mark as just a new system with advanced technology, besides, it will be very attractive because the crime rate will drop, no cash to rob anymore, don't have to worry about loosing your wallet/purse or forgetting it.......this system will be welcomed by the world and many "Christians" I believe....
that's my take on it anyway:)

same way as the worshipping the beast thing: on pain of death i reckon.
seems like that strong delusion God sends (2 Thess 2) must have a role too.

I have heard about India going cashless. While this is not the mark of the beast it can help to enforce it.

It's so simple the mark of Beast is the carnal mind, it's in their hands.....their works.
And in their foreheads,......The way they think.

And it must be changed by the Fire.

I agree 2knowhim, I don't believe that the mark will be a physical one. More like a state of mind, if it were a physical mark it would be nearly impossible for the whole world to be deceived as it is written in Revelation 12:9

I believe the mark of the beast is a marking of the flesh to show allegiance to the beast.

The Bible says that they receive the mark in the right hand or forehead,which shows it is a marking in the flesh.

The right hand and forehead could refer to places of authority,and when they receive the mark in either the right hand or forehead they are giving the beast authority over them.

Jesus is at the right hand of the saints,and the Father's name shall be written in the saints forehead,for God is their authority.

The beast system is physical and God's kingdom is spiritual.

The beast system is based on the occult,nature worship,that is all about man with no governmental or religious authority above them.Man is god himself.

The beast will cause craft to prosper on earth,the occult,nature worship.

The beast will recognize the God of forces,power of nature,and not a personal God.

The beast will exalt himself above all that is called God or is worshipped,and claim to be God,by saying he has tapped in to the Cosmos,nature,and achieved the most power a person can have.

The Bible says that 666 is the number of a man,and the occult believes in the power of numbers and grouping numbers for power.

The beast will be a man claiming to be God and will probably have the number 666 assigned to him.

They believe 6 is the number of a man,and the grouping of three sixes,666,is more powerful,which the beast will probably go by the number 666 thinking it will give him more power,and the beast system is all about man.

The Bible says here is wisdom,let he that has understanding count the number of the beast,so there is more to it than a number 666 on their right hand or forehead,and the Bible says that the mark is placed in the right hand or forehead,not on the right hand or forehead.

The mark is something that is placed in the skin.

The mark has to do with technology and man's devices.

When the beast appears and addresses the world,he blasphemes against God and His tabernacle,by saying it is all about man,and there is no authority above them,and man's technology and devices can solve the problems of the world and bring harmony to the world,and the only solution the world has to be able to prosper in the future and have peace on earth.

The mark will be something to do with technology,which we should see the technology today.

It will be the one world economic system,for no man may buy or sell without the mark.

Finances can be done on computer with no cash,and a device can be put under the skin that has all information about a person,finances,personal,etc.,that will come up on computer when scanned,along with a picture to identify the person.

It will have to be able to know everyone's location on earth,to cut down on crime,find lost children,etc.,which like a GPS system that knows the location of a car on earth,the mark by satellite knows the location of everyone on earth,which they can grid the earth today by satellite to know everyone's location by way of a device under the skin.

If they used a microchip placed under the skin,it would work as the mark of the beast.

The mark of the beast could be a microchip that is placed under the skin by a hypodermic needle,that when scanned gives an image of the person,picture,on computer,with their finances,personal information,all information about them,used for identification of the person,and is a scar of service to the beast and his agenda,that it is all about man and his technology that can solve the problems of the world and bring peace.

God seals a mark in His people's foreheads too, is that going to be a physical mark also?

I've heard so many different ideas of what the mark could be, all I know is that when it and the man of sin are revealed, I will be sure to know know exactly what and who they are.

This seems pretty far fetched, but it did make me wonder. These are not my own words, and I do not necessarily share these beliefs.

I read that the mark of the beast is the world economy. If nobody worked to produce goods then nobody would be able to buy, sell or trade without the mark (world economy).

The mark of the beast is more about worship. Those who worship the beast and the image receive the mark while those who worship God receive the seal of God. Worship is mentioned 8 times in Rev 13 & 14

Think about this as relating to my post about the world economy theory. How many people look to their job/income to provide, rather than looking to God to meet their needs? I know many people that are borderline worshipping their job.

When related to worship, that would make sense. Nonetheless, I really don't know for sure what the mark will be yet...

It will most definately be a counterfeit. Satan has been trying to play God since the beginning, everything he does seems like a counterfeit of something that God has done already.

Yes, then a study of the seal of God will give us a better understanding of the mark of the beast. It will look like the original.
