Matthew 2:1 to 11.. I always was under the impression there were three wise men from the east, but the truth is the Bible never says so, so there could have been more.

But they were all already convinced that the King of the Jews was born. And look, they first ended up in Jerusalem. This is very significant. They came from the east to Jerusalem. They did see the star, but they went to Jerusalem, not Bethlehem. They were under the same impression that ALL holy men comes from Jerusalem. But the Lord Jesus was born in Bethlehem, and the prophets did prophecy… And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda…

So Herod said to the men from the east, in private… Seek the Child in Bethlehem and come back here and tell me where He is so I can also worship him… YARIGHT! To worship Him as they eventually will…to kill Him. That is what they worship… the murderer from the beginning! To kill a baby!!!

Let us just look at one thing in verse 6… And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

The word rule…. It means to be ruler, but it also means to FEED the people. Many Kings were judged on their ability to RULE people and country, by the security the king provides by his decisions, also by the feeding the nation, he provides. Like Joseph and the seven years of gathering and the seven years of drought. And we know, what Jesus came to rule, provide security and to FEED!

Now we know why the Bible says King of kings! Jesus provides the best security and the best FOOD! Yep He is truly King of kings!

When they were done talking to Herod, they went out and NOW the star that they saw from the east went before them and stood not only over the town of Bethlehem but right over where the Child was. When they saw the Child they fell down, and worshipped Him.

WOW the first people to worship Jesus was from the east!

Verse 12… And now God does something… God warns these men, IN A DREAM, that they should not return to Herod. Now! Did God go to all of them in a dream, to some of them or to one of them? I believe God told EVERY one of them in a dream. God united them in A DREAM, and in that dream they ALL got the message NOT to go to Herod again. So they all listened to the dream and went back a different way.

This is the thing we should know here. If God unites people, He does it completely! Even these “wise” men from another faith knew Jesus was the Lord, they also knew they should not go back to Herod, ALL because God ENLIGHTENED them with this knowledge!

Now something very dear to me: Even in the dream there was NO DOUBT God was the one that warned them!

How did the warning come? Are there TALKING and voices in dreams? What about in visions? In a vision where there is familiar people, and they speak, do they sound the same? What about a vision of people you never met, if God gives you a vision, and in that vision this man comes to tell you something, will he sound the same when the vision is being executed in real life?

YES! to all questions, because God does not counterfeit. Like anything in the Word…It was as it is and will be.

Very much like God is and His Name is. God’s Name YHVH, is a derivative of …I was God, I am God, I will be God. Alpha and Omega…

Verse 13. Now the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream SAYING!!! Hah… Words are being spoken. And an exact order to do 5 things… …1. Arise. 2. Take your family. 3. Flee to Egypt. 4. Wait there. 5. Until I bring you word again….

Then also a reason is given not to make the man hanging on loose wires… Herod seek to destroy the young Child. Not only is this a command of God through the angel to Joseph in something even more powerful than spoken words, it was laid IN THE MAN!

Words that are heard by the ear, still has to be worked on in the mind, the words is sound waves that needs to be transformed to images in the brain before it makes sense to the spirit of the person. Then only can the person react. But the VOICE of the angel is not audible words; IT IS THE IMAGE OF THE SPOKEN WORDS… AHAH!!! LIKE REVELATIONS!!!!

This is MORE than audible words, it is an INNER VOICE! And let me assure you…It is louder, more clear and more understanding than ANY spoken word, or any text EVER READ!!

If we read this Bible, as we do now, It means NOTHING!! Zip, Zitlch! But if God reveals what is written in the heart of the believer of what he hears or reads… When God writes the MESSAGE, The Revelation, the GODLY knowledge, His Presence on our hearts, then it is more than words, IT BECOMES LIFE!!!

Look how alive these SAYING of the angel became… Joseph, stood up, arose, he took his family, and departed to Egypt, and he was there till the death of Herod, and a prophecy was fulfilled… (Out of Egypt have I called my son).

Do we see how perfect this Word is compiled! And just how thorough God constructed His Word? Then the people say: where is God?

When Herod found out the wise men of the east was not doing as he said, he was furious, and he commanded: “kill all the children two years and younger….” Just imagine the headlines on the news if somebody does that today! And this evil deed had another prophecy come to life… verses 17 and 18.

But when Herod died, the angel did reappear in a dream again to Joseph, and this time he said to return to Israel. This time however Joseph was afraid and did not return to Judea where the son of Herod reigned, but he went to Galilee (Nazareth). And another prophecy was fulfilled… He shall be called a Nazarene.

Now here is something good? Joseph was only afraid to return to Judea and he went to Galilee instead, and this had to happen to fulfill the prophecy. Again God had His Word maintained. The Truth of God, will NEVER be null and void.

May the Lord Jesus Christ, our Father, write this word on our hearts! May we also fulfill prophecies for His Sake! And may they be the blessing prophecies! Amen!

New King James Version (NKJV)
Matthew 2

Wise Men from the East

1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.
5 So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:
6 ‘ But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
Are not the least among the rulers of Judah;
For out of you shall come a Ruler
Who will shepherd My people Israel.’”[a]

7 Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.”
9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
12 Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.
The Flight into Egypt

13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”
14 When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, 15 and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
Massacre of the Innocents

16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. 17 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying:
18 “ A voice was heard in Ramah,
Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children,
Refusing to be comforted,
Because they are no more.”[c]
The Home in Nazareth

19 Now when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20 saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.” 21 Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.
22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee. 23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.”
