The Sabbath has been and can be a contentious subject for many today. This however is not so much due to the Sabbath itself, but rather misunderstanding of its beauty and relevance to us as followers of Jesus Christ. This Study will focus on the Sabbath itself .

I humbly ask as fellow servant with you in Jesus Christ, that you please pray first before going any further.
Our Holy Father in heaven, Glory and honor be to your name. Lord I pray that you lead me as I endeavor to show your love through your Sabbath. May the hearts of those who read this thread be opened to receive only that which is from you. May they be given discernment to see truth and reject error. May Christ be uplifted in this study, in the mighty Power of Jesus name. Amen

Let us begin with the Commandment itself:

Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Notice that this Commandment begins with the word “Remember”. It means exactly that Don’t forget the Sabbath day. It is also worth a mention that verse 8 finishes with “keep it Holy”
Now let me ask you, If I come into your church and say to you, “my car is our the front can you keep it running”. What do you expect to find outside?

Answer:
you expect a car that is running. The Idea of keep it running insinuates that it is already running. Thus the Sabbath is already Holy.

When was the Sabbath made Holy?

Answer:
The answer lies in verse 11.
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Let’s go and examine this day in the book of Genesis.

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

Notice that after the six days of Creation God rests on the Seventh day. What did Jesus do to the Seventh day?

Answer:
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Sanctify means to make Holy. So this day is made Holy by God and thus the commandment
Remember to keep it Holy. “Remember” because it happened in the Past at Creation and “keep”
because it is already Holy.

I would like you to also take notice that this Sabbath was made when?

Answer:
On the seventh day of creation which is before the fall of man. So the 7th day Sabbath is not a law
Added because of sin but rather instituted in a perfect world without sin.

So we have learned that the Sabbath was made before the fall when God made the 7th day holy.
And that it is a memorial of creation.

Now some will say that the Sabbath commandment was only given on the mount which is found
in Exodus 20 but notice with me what happens about three months before this event.

If you remember in Exodus 16 God gives manner to the Israelites. Notice why:

Exo 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

So God is testing to see if they will keep his law or not. How does he do this?

Answer:
Exo 16:23 And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

Exo 16:25 And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field.
Exo 16:26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
Exo 16:27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.

Exo 16:29 See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
Exo 16:30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

It would be good to read the whole account to see the context. But notice that the test of whether they will obey God or not is based on the Sabbath. This is before the law is given on the mount. Did God have a law before it was given on the mount?

Gen 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

Why?

Answer:
Gen 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
Yes there were laws before the mount and they were on the hearts of those who followed God. But let’s focus on the Sabbath for now.

Let me ask you a question; was the Sabbath just for the Jews?

Answer:

No, certainly not. remember that the Sabbath was made before there was a Jew. Jesus also said:

Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

Notice that the Sabbath is for who? “Man” The Sabbath is a gift from God to all men who will hear his voice.

Notice the words of Isaiah:

Isa 56:1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
Isa 56:3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
Isa 56:4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
Isa 56:5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
Isa 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

Notice the Sabbath was for all who join themselves to God even the strangers who were not
Jews.

What other sign was embedded d in the Sabbath?

Answer:
Deu 5:12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
Deu 5:13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
Deu 5:14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
Deu 5:15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

Notice in the repeat of the 4th commandment we are given another reason that we should honor the Sabbath of God. Because we have been freed from slavery. While Israel was freed from slavery to Egypt we have and they have also been freed from slavery to sin through Jesus Christ.
So the Sabbath is a memorial to the fact that God created us and it is he who frees us from slavery to sin. And just like Israel left slavery and was baptized in the sea so are we freed from sin and baptized in the Holy Spirit that we may be made Holy also.

Remember that God sanctified the Sabbath, which we learnt that Sanctify means to be made Holy. Notice what the Sabbath was given for:

Eze 20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

It is a sign that God is able to sanctify us. Just as we have no ability in us to make a day Holy so we learn that only God can make us Holy through the workings of the Holy Spirit.

So now let us look at Jesus for a bit:

Luk 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

Notice here that Jesus custom was to go to the synagogue/church on the Sabbath. We will also notice that the apostles followed in this example.

Act 17:2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
Act 13:13 Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
Act 13:14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.

Act 16:13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
Act 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

Notice that Paul kept the Sabbath also both for Jews and Greeks. And even when there was no synagogue to go to he went out on the Sabbath to where he could pray.

So the Sabbath was still important to the followers of Jesus after he had left to heaven. In fact Jesus expected them to be still keeping the Sabbath:

Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
Notice that Jesus prophesied about the fall of Jerusalem by the Roman empire in 70 A.D and he still expected that the Sabbath would be kept when this happened.

Notice what Isaiah says about the New earth and new heavens:

Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

Isaiah prophesied that we will keep the Sabbath even in heaven after sin is done away with.

Some have sighted Revelation 1:10 which says:

Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

Many say that this Lords day is the new Sabbath on Sunday. But what does the Bible say is the Lords day?

Answer:
Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

So Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath which is the 7th day of the week.

Notice Paul’s words concerning the Sabbath:

Heb 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
Heb 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

Why did the word not profit them? Because is was not mixed with Faith speaking of the jews who kept the letter.
Rom 9:31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
Rom 9:32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

Notice that the law was not bad it was the approach that made the difference. They tried by works and not of faith. The implication here is that if they had gone by faith they would have attained to the law of righteousness.

Heb 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

What works and when did it finish?

Heb 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

7th day Sabbath.is what he finished and rested.

Heb 4:5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
Heb 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

Question is Paul trying to say that only some need to enter into this rest and others don’t? No, what he is saying is that there are some who have not yet entered into it which still will.

Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Here Paul is speaking to the argument that Jesus is our rest so we don’t need the Sabbath. He says that if Jesus had given rest then he would have given a new day. The point is Jesus did not give a new day so Jesus did not destroy the Sabbath. And so he says in the next verse that the day still remains.

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Heb 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Notice that the rest we must enter into is the same rest that God did from his works. This is none other than the Blessed Sabbath Rest of the 7th day.

If you read chapter 3 which is what chapter 4 is coming from then you will see that Paul is linking the 7th day Sabbath rest with the going into the promised land.

Those who obey out of love for God and the Power of the Holy Spirit will find rest and a blessing that is only found in the one day that God has blessed. The 7th day.

Brothers and Sisters there is much more I could say to you on this topic But I will leave it there for now. Please study your bible, check to see if these things are true. Pray and Study. For I could be telling the truth or I could be a deceiver. Do not take my word.

Feel free to ask any questions. This is by no means the whole story. I will do a post later on the significant of the Sabbath with the price paid for our salvation.

May God richly bless you as you grow into the image of His son Jesus.

No, but if you for refuse to remember the true Sabbath of God you are.

I worship God every say, and have at my home or go to ''church'' Sunday night, Monday night, Thursday night, and Friday night.

Keeping the Sabbath is not about what day you assemble.

Well first you must ''Remember'' it, and secondly ''Keep it holy''/ separated from other days.

Ever heard the saying ''Thank God it is Friday''. when people get off of work on Friday the weekend has begun. Even the world keeps the Sabbath. Why is it so hard for believers to?

Dear Heavenly Father I pray no more of these people come here ever again trying to put the curse on us in Jesus name. With all due respect please read the bible and stop it. With all my love!

  1. Galatians 3:10
And all who depend on the Law [who are seeking to be justified by obedience to the Law of rituals] are under a curse and doomed to disappointment and destruction, for it is written in the Scriptures, Cursed (accursed, devoted to destruction, doomed to eternal punishment) be everyone who does not continue to abide (live and remain) by all the precepts and commands written in the Book of the Law and to practice them.
Galatians 3:9-11 (in Context) Galatians 3 (Whole Chapter)
  2. Galatians 3:13

16Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
17But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
18For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
19For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
20I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.Galatians 3

1O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
4Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
5He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
6Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
16Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
17And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
18For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
20Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
21Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

CHRIST became our Sabbath. (rest) (peace of mind) in knowing that, if you should happen to passover prior to the arrival of death himself, satan.

That your beleif in The Fathers Word in and through Christ, will save you.

However; IF you happen to be here when satan (death) the instead-of-christ (anti-christ) himself IS cast to this earth, Father has a will to do for Him, and it certainly is not to hurt anybody; simply turn right and head to the wilderness, to receive the much needed greater healings: Or, turn left and head off to the devils party,(The Great Apostasty) with anti-christ himself performing the greater miricales; To DECEIVE, IF it ere possible, even Gods set aside ones (elect) keep that ego in check. :D

EVERYDAY IS A SABBATH DAY IN CHRIST
(Its NOT Part-Time)

Forever in Christ :)

To whom it may concern:

"Having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us and which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him. Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day- things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ." (Col 2:14-16)
Col 2:14-16 clearly teaches that the sabbath was abolished and nailed to cross! <--- click

Dear Loveschild, I can see love in your reply and an earnestness to see my salvation and I thank you for that.

However if you study my study you will find that it is soundly based on the word of God. now I know you only read it because of your fast reply. this means you did not think about it and did not study it through the word to see if there was any truth in it. Instead you took what you already believe to be true and rejected it on that basis alone.

Now I can understand that, we all have done it. but let us examine the texts you have given to see what they are saying.

lets first notice the first text.

Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

It is clear What Paul is talking about here as he is referring to the law in Deuteronomy where the blessings and curses are for those who obey or do not obey. So why are they cursed?

Answer: because they do not continueth in all things that are written. Nor can they. Have you ever tried to stop sinning and failed time and time again?

I know I have. as Paul said though:

Gal 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Gal 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

so what is happening here?

Answer: if you read the prior chapter we can see that some are teaching the Gentiles that they must keep the old ceremonial laws. Even Peter gave this impression and made a bad example to others.

Gal 2:14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

Notice here that Peter lived as the manner of the Gentiles which is by Faith, but then compelled the Gentiles to lice as do the Jews which is by works.

Gal 2:15 We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,
Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Amen, Justified by Christ through Faith and not by Works.

Gal 2:17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
Gal 2:18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

Now take note of what Paul is saying here, If we are justified by Christ through Faith and then we sin, does that mean that Christ is ok with sin and that justification is ok with sin?

Verse 18 after saying God forbid. for if we build those things we have left behind then we become a transgressor. this means a law breaker which Paul said God Forbid of.

Gal 2:19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

How does one die to the law?

Answer:
Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

So we die to self through Jesus death and thus are justified with him and then walk in newness of life.
Watch the same pattern as we continue in Gal.

Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

So we learn something here that preludes to chapter 3. We through baptism into Christ death are justified by his blood and receive the Spirit that we may no longer walk in sin but newness of life.

What is sin?
1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

notice Paul agrees with John that sin is breaking the law. in Fact Paul here quotes one of the commandments and says it is by these commandments that I knew what sin was. and again the scripture says:

Rom 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Rom 7:13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

see here that Paul speaks of our slavery to sin and how the Law showed us sin so that we realise our problem and then we seek a solution. what does Paul say our solution is?

Answer:
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Praise God through Jesus Christ that through him and his death I am free from the law of sin. remember that the law of God points out sin but paul told us that the law itself is not sin./

Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. and again we are able to walk in the spirit.
Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual

What is the outcome of this blessing through Christ?

Answer:

Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

so the law could not save us why? Answer: the flesh is weak. so God sent his son to condemn sin in the flesh

How so we now walk? Answer: after the spirit and in this manner the righteousness of the law is fulfilled in us.

Notice these words from Paul:

Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

So the carnal mind is an enemy of God and is not subject to the law and thus can not please God. so what then is the opposite of this?

Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

So then if we are not of the carnal mind but of the spirit and the carnal mind is not subject to the law of God, then the spiritual mind must be subject to the law.

So we see that the law was given to show us our condition so that we may see our hopelessness and come to the one who can free us from sin. now if one is free from sin then they must not walk in it as Paul has shown and if sin is breaking the law as Paul and James state. then one who is free from sin must also be empowered to keep the law and thus no longer walk in sin. This all being made possible through the blood of Christ.

let us go back to Galatians.

Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Gal 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Gal 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

And here it is again free from the curse of the law and empowered by faith through the Spirit.

Gal 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
Gal 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Gal 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

wow the law condemned us because we are carnal remember. but the law like a schoolmaster brings us to Christ in which justification by Faith may come. and if we have faith then we no longer under the school master.

So if the Law is the Schoolmaster and we are no longer under the schoolmaster then does that mean we don't need to keep the law?

Answer:
Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Notice here again the same thought is being presented by Paul. now for those who do not know the word Righteousness is the exact opposite of unrighteousness which is unlawful, wrong, iniquity. so then righteousness is the opposite of this which would then be right, turning away from sin, lawful.

so we are to do right and not wrong. to be law keepers not law breakers for we are not under law but under grace.
So because we are under grace now does that mean we can keep on sinning which means breaking the law?

Answer:
Rom 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Rom 6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
Rom 6:21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
Rom 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Brothers and sisters we are not to be slaves to sin. for those of us who have tasted of the Lord through Jesus Christ and the baptism of the Holy Spirit have been made free.

So now If we are free from sin and sin is the breaking of the law then through Christ and His holy Spirit we are empowered to no longer walk in sin but in righteousness and thus we are able to keep the law. praise God.

This is what Paul is saying in Galatians. he is pointing out that those who try to gain salvation by works of the law will die by the law. but those who live by faith in Jesus are empowered to keep the law. in other words keeping the law is a fruit of Faith and not a work.

See the problem many have is that they find it hard to make distinction between real faith and works. Paul is talking about works on their own that are made by human effort to gain salvation. but listen to James when He speaks on these things:

Jas 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well.

Notice here that he calls the law royal.

Jas 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Jas 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

So this Royal law is the 10 commandments that he has quoted from just as Paul did in Romans.

Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Wow, we will be judged by this law. but why is it called the law of Liberty/freedom?
Remember we saw that through Faith in Jesus the spirit is imparted and then we are made subject to the law. only then can we please God through the workings of the spirit.Romans 8 5-10

Jas 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Jas 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Jas 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Jas 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Jas 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Jas 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Jas 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Jas 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
Jas 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

See friends Works is the fruit of Faith. Real Faith brings obedience through the changing power of the Holy Spirit. We place ourselves in a dangerous place when we do not take all the word into account. Paul teaches clearly that we are through the power of Christ blood able to overcome.

Friends our sin put Jesus on the Cross but praise be to his name, he through this act has freed us from sin that we should no longer walk in it. and through the changing power of the Holy Spirit we have been made subject to the law which was ordained to bring life. it only brought death because of the weakness of the flesh. but you brother and sister are no longer walking according to the flesh but by the spirit and this is the hope of Glory that we will be conformed by his spirit into his glorious image.

Jesus did not die to leave you a slave to sin/lawlessness. no rather he purchased our freedom with his own blood that we may be free even now. This is not a message of bondage it is one of freedom from bondage. are you freed by the blood of Jesus and empowered by the spirit to walk righteously? Are you struggling with sins in your life?

then Why not by Faith call out to Jesus and he will Give you the Spirit that you may be made free even now. I see so many Christians who walk around in bondage to sin because they simply do not take hold by Faith the power that is available.

I like the way Paul puts it in Philippians:

php 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
Php 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Faith is the Key to true overcoming power. works are the fruit that follows as you are made more like Him. this is about love friends. love for Him who died to give such a wonderful gift. He speaks to you today will you hear his voice:

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

May God the Father and Jesus His son and the Spirit of truth forever keep us in his Grace. amen

To whom it may concern:
I have to disagree with you on this one
How do you know that this is referring to the weekly Sabbath?
to say that it is OK to break 1 of the Ten Commandments because of one questionable verse is very dangerous to do.

You need to quote where the bible says this????
MARK CH:2/ver:27-28; And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.

Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. (rest)

The Lords Prayer is a daily cleansing; when i am in my moments of weakness's, not cleansed, i notice the difference in my spirit, thank God that spirits don't need deoderant :D

Forever in Christ :)

Being the Lord of the Sabbath and being our Sabbath is not at all the same thing.
