Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works lest any man should boast.

We are saved by faith in the work of Jesus Christ our Lord. There is no work that we ourselves can do that will save us from sin. Our righteousness is filthy rags Isaiah 64:6 How can those who are not born again do born again works? We can't even do the works of God until we are saved. We must first be saved before we can do born again works. Thus we see that we are not saved by works.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

No one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws him. Once again this is not our work. Everything about salvation speaks of God's work and our exceptence of God's work, "and that not of yourselves" Ephesians 2:8 Before we come to Jesus we must be drawn by the Father. Once again those who are not born again can't do the works of the born again person. We can't do anything born again until we are saved by faith and born again. What could we do? Nothing! God draws us and Christ work on the cross saves us.
