I don't belong to any man's Church!! I am not a member of any man's church. The churches of men are of men.

I am a part of Jesus's church. I live by his rules. He is my pastor, the Holy Spirit is my teacher. He is my usher. He is my bishop. My Lord, my king, my High priest. My savior, my counselor.

Anyone who is also apart of his church, I am part with him. Anyone who isn't, I don't know, and they are NOT my brothers and my sisters, not my mothers.

What church do you belong to?

So...how do you reconcile your beliefs with this verse.

Hebrews 10:25- Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Thats easy. Do not forsake the gathering of the saints. That doesnt mean you must attend traditional church or that you must be a member of the man made institution we now call church. it means we must have fellowship with other believers.

I teach a new convert class on Mondays from my home. I also have fellowship at me home with mature believers on Tuesdays. I go to a service on many Friday nights call ''the burn''. Ands i attend a home fellowship on Sunday night at a fellow saint's home.

however I am in total agreement with the op, and with Hebrews 10:25

ok lol I don't exactly get your point. Are you not a man? Is not your fellowship organized by believers? What is the difference between where you fellowship and the OP grievance?

I was standing in a machanical workshop a few days ago, and we asked where should we attend church. Then I said, man to stick to God's Word we have to maybe look if the Word of God gives us a guideline what a church should look like... And I remembered 1 Cor 14. That is a ...What then Brothers, if you come togather.... And I said show me that church and I propably be the first one there! Every sermon and gathering!

Then I asked them... what are we having right now? Are we not busy to encourage eachother with the Word of God to seek God with all we got? Well it sounds to me like a gathering in God's honor, maybe we should have these gatherings more often, who knows how soon God will call this a gathering of saints!

I have high standards, so high as they are depicted in the Word.. Deacons should be 1 Tim 3 deacons, and elders. And the Pastors should be Eph 4:11 Pastors.. And teh gathering whould be SAINTS not unsoorowed sinners! Sorry, that is what teh Bbile says, and that is what I believe. The Body of Chrsit still LOOKS exactly like the one in Eph 4:13, and Jesus is still the HEAD of the Body!

When God edify a person into that Body. that person will gather with SAINTS!

It's good to seek a perfect Church... but be careful because once you start to attend it won't be perfect anymore.

Ten years ago a pastor told me the same thing DW. and it hurt bad then, now it hurts only that you can say it. I think I am well on my way to that church, and Jesus would be finished with me before I enter, so do not be wooried, Jesus would not let one sin pass in... HE KEEPS IT SPOTLESS AND PURE, that is why HE sanctifies, and glorifies before he EDIFIES me into His Body... Nope sorry your curse will not stick! Jesus will EDIFY me to His Body!

Cobus I am not saying that you are not saved. I believe that you are and going to Church doesn't save, I would also believe that the people who dispute with one another here on CC on a regular basis ARE saved. Now with that being said, do we all agree on everything? No, but that is no reason why I should say that some are not saved? Does everyone agree with me on everything? No. Do I agree with everything that's said? No. But I will NOT say that just because I don't agree with someone that they are not saved. I understand that many people have grievances against the modern-day Church, and I have some grievances too, I'm wit dat... but I do have a problem with people that will use that as an excuse to retreat from fellowship completely then when the Lord's day comes they put on their Snuggie and sit in front of the computer with their bowl of fruit loops and write that off as fellowship...no...sorry I'm not buying that!! It doesn't matter how imperfect the Church is, you are to still seek Biblical fellowship and pray with like-minded individuals. If you don't do this you are in disobedience.

Traditional church is a man made institution where people become members ect... Fellowship is saints gathering. This is God's church the fellowship of the saints.

At the moment I am an ex- ... I'm not yet a full Christian. I've confessed my sins, but I haven't been baptized. One enters the Church through baptism and chrismation. Only when I am baptized and chrismated will I be a member of Christ's Church. Christ's true Church is the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. What is Jesus' Church? The Orthodox Church.
If one is a Protestant, one lives by one's own rules. One is one's own pastor. One is one's own teacher, not the Holy Spirit. One is one's own usher. One is one's own bsihop. One is one's own lord, king, high priest, savior, and counselor. One is become as gods, knowing good and evil. I'm such a person still now. I struggle against sin to become an Orthodox Christian. It is not easy. But in time I hope to rely on the hierarchy of the Church.
One cannot baptize oneself.
Jesus' church is visible and identifiable in history.
It is not Roman catholicism or one of the 38,000 and mroe Protestant sects.
It is not Oriental Orthodoxy either, though Oriental Orthodoxy is closer to the truth than Roman Catholicism is.
The churches of men are not churches at all. There is only one Church (Eph. 4).
The Protestant Reformation with Martin Luther, John Calvin, and others are the traditions of men.
Most of the people who write this forum are not members of the Church. There are only a few who are already baptized members of the Orthodox Church. The majority are Protestants, and a few Roman Catholics. The last time I was in church was in a Russian Orthodox Church. But I haven't been there for awhile.
I am planning if not later in this month of September, then in October to get back to church.

DW I do not go becasue they throw me oput when I reproof... So I only go when I am invited, and if I still disagree I leave...If they ask why I tell, and if they do not I just leave... I want to see a 1 Cor 14 church or none at all.. I believe every town has one like that in 1 Cor 13, I also believe Jesus Himself maintain it... LOOK...
27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Scott... Jesus will send you a Holy person to baptize you. I really believe John is still here, it might even be him.
