The False gospel VS The True Gospel

This is the first lesson in a series of lessons entitled ''New Creation''. It is vitally important to know the difference between the true gospel and the false. You as new converts will be bombarded with all types of doctrine. You need to be able to discern the truth from fallacy.

There all some totally false gospels we are not really getting into today. What we are touching on today is generally accepted gospel in the American Church. If you were to read the false gospel list alone with out hearing what the true gospel is and why the false gospel is false, you would think I was crazy for not believing it. The fact is it is not altogether false, but only half true thereby rendering it completely false.

I heard a quote that fits this lesson well. “The popular gospel of this day, is the laughing-stock of Hell; it
dare neither damn the sinner, nor sanctify the saint.” - Catherine Booth (The wife of William Booth/ the founder of the Salvation Army)

That being said lets get into the lesson.

The false gospel teaches forgiveness/ The true gospel teaches repentance.
Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Yes there is forgivness of sin is given to all those that repent, but without repentance there is no forgiveness of sins. The common teaching is anyone that accepts Jesus as Savior will be forgiven whether they have repentance, or change of life or not. This is not true. If one continues in unrepentant sin there sins are not forgiven. There must be repentance for there to be remission, and there cannot be forgiveness without remission.

The false gospel wants to make converts/ The true gospel wants to make disciples.
Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
Once again this is not a entirely untrue just half true. Of course you need converts to make discples, but coverts that never become disciple are not truly converted. Nowhere in scripture do I ever see Jesus telling us to make converts.

This whole book, set of lessons, or teachings are to create disciples not converts. A converts left to their own devices fall away 4 out of every 5. Someone convincing someone to repeat a prayer after them, and leaving it at that does the person no real good at all. To think you can say some magic words over yourself, and that makes you saved is border line sorcery. To be truly converted one must become a disciple of Christ committing themselves fully to the Lord. Following Him and His word where ever it may lead. They must repent of their sin, stop serving self, and start serving Jesus.

The false gospel says make a decision for Christ/ The true gospel teaches us to make a commitment to Christ
Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

2nd Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
A christian life is not a one time decision it is a life time commitment. If you think that you can decide to accept Christ as you Savior, and that is all there is to it you have been steered in the wrong direction here what Jesus says in the parable of the seed
Matthew 13:3
3 And He spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold a sower went out to sow.
4 And when He had sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them:
5 Some fell upon the stony places where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6 and when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 And some feel among thorns; and thorns spring up, and choked them:
8 But others fell on good ground and brought forth fruit, some a hundred fold, some sixty fold, and some thirty fold.
18 Hear you therefore the parable of the sower.
19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and understands it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in their heart. This is he that received the seed by the way side.
20 But he that received the seed in the stony places, the same is he that hears the word, and anon with joy receives it;
21 Yet he has no root in himself, but dureth for a while; for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word he is offended.
22 He also that receives seed among the thorns is he that hears the word; and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word of he becomes unfruitful.
23 But he that received the seed into the good ground is he that hears the word, and understands it; which also bears fruit, and brings forth, some a hundred fold, some sixty, some thirty.
Here we see 4 groups of people; 1 group rejects the word, 3 groups accept the word yet 2/3 of them turned from their salvation and only 1 group of the 3 groups that accepted the word actually hold fast to their salvation producing fruits. Luke 8:13 puts it like this.
Luke 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while they believe, and in a time of temptation they fall away.
A quarter reject the word, half fall away, and only a quarter keep the word. So not only can we fall away but in this particular parable most do.

We have to remain faithful to Christ, committed fully to Him regardless of what life brings our way. Paul tells us in Colossians 1:20-22 that we will presented to God justified ''IF'' we remain committed to Christ not being moved away from our faith. This Christian walk is a life time commitment, not a one time decision.

The false gospel tells you, you MUST be baptized/ The true gospel teaches you MUST be born again.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God

John 3
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Now don't get me wrong I believe every believer should be baptized, and if you refuse baptism you are in rebellion and most likely not born again, but being baptized does not saved you. A baby who was baptized as an infant will still has to be born again by committing their life to the Lord when they are old enough to make such a decision. A child that was baptized at 12 because of religious duty, who has never made a commitment to following Christ is not a Christian. A man or woman that is baptized in a process of converting to their soon to be spouse's religion without a honest heart of repentance will not be forgiven of their sins. You can go down a dry sinner, and come up a wet one.

What saves you is rebirth, the awakening of your spirit man. When Adam sinned he began to die physically but his spirit died immediately. Sin is death, spiritual death, separation from God. When we are saved (reborn) our spirit becomes alive. When we are born, our body is born with a living soul but a dead spirit. When we are saved our spirit is born. Consequently, to get to heaven we must be born again. Our rebirth is a spiritual birth in Christ Jesus.

Paul says in his letter to the Ephesians you who sleep awaken and Christ will give you light, and to the Corinthians he said awake to righteousness and sin not
1st Corinthians 15:34a Awake to righteousness, and sin not

Ephesians 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
When our spirits are awakened within us we no longer want to serve self, and sin, but Jesus. Therefore we are able to put off the old man of sin, and live a life of righteousness in Christ.

The false gospel tells us that we have been saved from Hell/ the true gospel teaches us we have been saved from self, sin, and death
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Romans 6
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Romans 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
To believe that Jesus came to save us from the penalty of sin only is a dire mistake. Jesus came to save us from sin itself, and thereby saving us from the penalty of sin. The word tells us in Hebrews 10:26-31, and 2nd Peter 2:20-22 that those that continue in sin after coming into faith with Jesus will not only suffer in Hell with unbelievers, but will suffer a greater damnation than those that have never believed.

The false gospel tells us we were saved to gain Heaven, eternal life/ the true gospel teaches us we were saved to be reconciled to God, and to declare His glory on this earth through our lives.
2nd Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

2nd Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

2nd Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation
Eternal life in ''Heaven'' with God is the outcome of a life spent in obedient service to our King. This is done through the indwelling of Christ, and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit we are given at new birth. However that is not why we are reborn. We are reborn to reconcile us to God, to be re-created int his image revealing His glory through this world by hoe we as His children live our live. I pray that those that claim your name will also bare your image. Let us be mirror images of our Lord. God wants us to leave an uncanny impression on those we meet that we remind them of someone, and He wants that someone is Jesus.

John tells us in 1st John 4:17 that we are supposed be Christ in this world. The very image of Jesus' person.
1st John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
As ''He'' (Jesus) so are we in this world

Eternal life with God it is are ultimate reward, but not God's ultimate purpose. God's ultimate purpose was to reconcile us to himself, and releasing us to reveal His glory.

The false gospel says we are saved to create for ourselves a better life here and now/ The true gospel teaches us that we are to lay down our own lives for Christ, pick up our cross, and follow Jesus
Matthew 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Matthew 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Luke 9:23And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Jesus in no uncertain term teaches us that to be His disciple and to receive life, we must first die to self now, letting go of our wants, and concerns, becoming concerned for Him and His Kingdom. Paul writes to Timothy that we are to endure hardness,/ suffering as a good soldier for Christ, not entangling ourselves with the affairs of this world (2nd Timothy 2:3-4). It doesn't really seem like our comfort here in this life is at the top of Jesus' list. Of course He wants to bless us, but not so we can sit around being blessed, but so we can bless others, once again revealing His glory. Jesus told the rich young ruler in Matthew 19:21 to sell all he had, that doesn't sound like the good life to me. Also Jesus tells us all what good would it profit us to gain the whole world and loose our souls.
Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
No the Christian life has nothing to do with a better life now, it has everything to do with remaining obedient to the Lord, sacrificing self for His Kingdom. We must take up our cross daily, and follow our Lord where ever He leads us.

The false gospel teaches we are sinners saved by grace/ the true gospel tells us we have become the righteousness of God in Christ.
2nd Corinthians 5:21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

1st John 3
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
'I am a sinner saved by grace''. This is not even a biblical statement. We do not continue to be sinners after salvation. We were sinners until we were saved by grace. After salvation, we become the righteousness of God in Christ.

John is bold saying those that do righteousness are righteous, but those that commit sin are of the Devil. If I said something like that I would be booed and declared a heretic, but we must believe God's word over our own man's word,or philosophy, our own intellect, what our Pastor teaches, or even what our mamma says. God's word must be what all truth is anchored in.

Those that are in Christ do not constantly continue to commit sin, and those that do constantly continue to commit sin are not in Christ. Paul clearly tells us in Romans 6 that what we yield are member to obey, that is what we serve. you cannot serve/ obey self, and sin, and serve/ obey Jesus at the same time.
Romans 6
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 know you not ,that whom you yield yourselves servant to obey, his servant you are whom you obey; whether of sin unto death, or obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Luke 16:13 No man can serve two masters, for either they will hate one and love the other, or else they will hold to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
You cannot serve God and money, nor can you serve God and sin, nor can you serve God and self. Choose this day whom you will serve, sin, and self, or God?

The false gospel tells you to integrate into the ''Church culture''/ The true gospel integrates you into the Kingdom culture
Luke 17:21 Niether shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
Many churches are more concerned about you attending church, or becoming a member of their local church than you entering the Kingdom. The church wants to integrate you into a church culture where the leaders or pastors cannot be challenged, where their word is truth even when it opposes scripture. They want to indoctrinate you to the point that any truth you hear sounds foreignto you. This may sound some what harsh, but it is true. The leaders of the Church, Apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelist, teachers, where never meant to be over you, but beside you helping bring you to the truth of God's word. However as Jesus said about the Temple in Jerusalem, God's house has once again become a den of thieves. Not only lining their pockets with your money, but teaching such thing as unconditional eternal security, free grace, easy believism, that not only keep them from entering Heaven but it keeps those in their churches that know no better than believe their word from entering in.
Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

We must not blindly accept what we are taught we must study the word for ourselves, asking the Holy Spirit to lead us into the truth. He is our guide, He will speak to our hearts. He will lead us to the truth if we seek it. If we if open hearts, and study God's word with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, wanting to know the truth regardless of what that truth is, or how it offends us, or how it might offend others. God will show Himself to us. Furthermore He will show us his truth, and let us understand His Kingdom. He integrates us into HIS CHURCH, not the church. He will integrate us into His remnant of true believers, His Kingdom.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

1st John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Now I am not saying the local church is a bad thing, it is not, it is a good thing. However we must find a good church, that teaches the bible not denominational doctrine. We must test all thing to make sure it lines up with scripture. We must never succumb to the church culture to where you believe every word your Pastor or Sunday school teacher says, but we must remain in the word, we must remain Kingdom minded, the Holy Spirit as out ultimate guide, and the bible as our final authority. Don't even believe me, but test what I say against the word of God Himself.
Romans 3:4....let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
As long as you keep your beliefs aligned with scripture you will always be justified in what you say, and over come when you are judged. Not everybody will always agree, but you will still have been justified, and overcome.

I use this example sometimes....What would happen if you do not eat? You'll die. What if you only ate once a week? You would probably still die. What if you ate once a week and what you ate was someone else's puke? Well that is what people who never read their Bible or pray, but show up once a week and listen to the preacher regurgitate what he has been feeding on all week.

One more thing, the Pastor was never meant to be the sole leader of a church, there is supposed to be an apostle he can lean on, prophets that speak into the people, evangelist to encourage the new believers, and teachers. The Pastor's job is to lift the believer up, make sure that the flock is feeding on God's word and walking in the right direction. Not get up on Sunday and tell them what they must believe. The believer is supposed to be studying the word, and praying for themselves, allowing God to bring them into all truths.

This is the difference between the church culture of today, and the Kingdom culture of God

One side note: When testing the word of a teacher against the truth. Dont search for scriptures only to exuse or justify your sin. This shows that you are not searching for truth, but an easy way to Heaven without denying yourself.. There is no justification for sin. Any teaching or doctrine that justifies sin is doing exactly what scripture tells us not to. It makes provision for our flesh.
Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

The false gospel tells us that we need to become a Christian/ The true gospel teaches us that we become a new creation.
2nd Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
The word Christian has become very generic. Some people believe they are Christians because they live in America, or because their grandma is a Christian, or because they go to Church, or because they were baptized or said some magic chant over themselves, this is not true. When one commits their life totally to Jesus being born again, they become a totally new creation. They are no longer the sinful person they once were, but have been truly freed from self and sin, enabled to live a life pleasing to God by the indwelling of Christ and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. This is what true Christianity is.

When it all boils down to the most basic reason that Jesus came to Earth, lived, died, and rose again was to make us a new creation. He came to recreate us, to make us once again in the image of God in Christ. Adam was created in the image of God Himself with a living spirit. After the fall of Adam his spirit died, and those born after Adam were born in the image of fallen man. However we who have been redeem, again bare the image of God through Christ. Jesus came to restore man to His original condition.

I told you if you were to read the false gospel list you would think I am crazy, and the reason for that is because we have all be influenced by the church culture. We have been told it is all about forgiveness, joining a church, being baptized, and becoming a christian so that we can escape Hell, and gain eternal life. There is an actual saying ''there is a Hell to shun, and a Heaven to gain'', and that saying is fine I guess. However it is not about forgiveness, joining a church, being baptized, and becoming a christian so that we can escape Hell, and gain eternal life. It is about entering into a love relationship with our King. It is about doing what it takes to grow His Kingdom. It is about laying our life down for Christ, just like He laid His down for us.

Christianity is not about us, it is about Jesus. What we get out of it is of little consequence. What should be on our mind is having something to give Him when we face Him one day. We only have one chance to give Him love and obedience here in this life, 80yrs give or take a few, to serve Him in this life. This is the only chance you will ever get to love Jesus through pain, to obey by faith, to trust without full understanding, to war against sin, to love your enemy ect... You are now able to give Jesus a gift in this life that you will never be able to give Him the rest of eternity. In the age to come there will be now pain. We will know as we are known. We will serve Jesus for all eternity, but in this life only can we give Him our lives, fragile as they may be.

I remind you of the quote I quoted earlier by Catherine Booth “The popular gospel of this day, is the laughing-stock of Hell; it dare neither damn the sinner, nor sanctify the saint.” I hope you now can see why these seemingly true teachings are actually dangerous, when spoken as half truths, not coupled with the true gospel.

The best way to spot a counterfeit is to know the authentic.

To know the authentic is to know the Gospel(s). The Holy Words of Jesus Christ our LORD.

JESUS CHRIST says: "But when the Comforter is come, Whom I shall send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, Who proceedeth from the Father, He shall give testimony of Me." JOHN 15:26

THE WORLD SAYS: FILIOQUE: "who proceedeth from the Father" AND THE SON (FILIOQUE).
Roman Catholicism, and with it, Lutheranism, Calvinism, Methodism, Anglicanism, are THE WORLD.

Love not THE WORLD, neither the things which are in the world, NEITHER LOVE THE FILIQOUE, WHICH IS IN (AND OF) THE WORLD!

No matter if or because it was "taught by Saint Augustine of Hippo". God bless him! But he was wrong about this matter. Take care!

Good study, though I think that you draw a couple of lines where there need be none:
The false gospel tells us we were saved to gain Heaven, eternal life/ the true gospel teaches us we were saved to be reconciled to God, and to declare His glory on this earth through our lives.

I agree with the second part, but we were saved for both, to be reconciled to God so that we can declare His Glory for eternity.

The false gospel tells you, you MUST be baptized/ The true gospel teaches you MUST be born again.

Though I agree that there is sometimes too much of an emphasis on baptism with water, Jesus himself said we are to "make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward change.

The Bible does teach that "all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God" and that "it is by Grace we have been saved". We are born into sin that is Biblical and it is grace that saves us also biblical. To claim that when we make the commitment to Christ that we will never sin again is a lie, I don't know that this is what you are claiming but it sounds like it. 1 John 1:5-10 says "5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us." We are to walk in the light, but we are still in our fleshly bodies full of corruption and to claim we are without sin is to deceive ourselves. But we are to become the righteousness of God, so again a line where there needs to be no line, we need both.

God Bless

The false gospel teaches salvation by works:-
Acts 15:1
(1) And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

The true gospel teaches salvation by grace through faith:-
Acts 15:9
(9) And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
Acts 15:11
(11) But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

That is true.. We are saved by grace, not by work...

Yes, there is absolutely nothing we can do outside of faith in Christ that can save us.

We are not saved by good works we are saved for good works.
Ephesians 2:8-10
(8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
(9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

John 8:10-11
(10) When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
(11) She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

A true Gospel is everything that goes with then bible and does not contradict

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
-Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
-Matthew 28:19 (KJV)

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
-Acts 4:12 (KJV)

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
-Acts 2:38-39 (KJV)

"" We are saved by grace, not by work... "
Can we say scripturally that works has no place at all in our salvation??
I think the statement "salvation is without works" misleads a scripturally weak/ignorant(unlearned) Christian, as well as sinners.. I think the statement "salvation without works" seems to insinuate that ALL works are useless in our salvation. I would call the statement "salvation without works"---a blanket statement. A blanket statement hides so much truth that it cannot be considered the ABSOLUTE TRUTH. The truth is, WORKS do have a part in our salvation, because it is by the WORK of (God)Calvary that we can have salvation in the first place.
Of course, we all have our own opinions as to the interpretations of Gods word. I don't expect my "interpretation" of "salvation with out works" to be totally accepted.
Never the less it is a scriptural fact that Calvary is a WORK of God, and the statement "salvation without works" is misleading.

Ephesians 2:9 KJ "Not of works, least any man should boast." The correct interpretation of "Not of works, least any man should boast., is ---the works of mans OWN SELF righteousness will not save him, least he boast. This scripture has been sliced and diced so much by mainstream Christianity, till it is understood to mean--works don't save--period. That is a totally false conclusion. Again--- Calvary is a WORK of God, so yes works do save.
IF, Calvary IS in fact a WORK of God---then the statement-- " false gospel teaches salvation by works"----. Calvary IS actually a WORK of God.
A word study on the word --works--- as it is found in Ephesians 2:9. The definition of works is--a deed, effort, or an action. Calvary IS actually a WORK of God. Calvary is the deed, the effort and action of God to save man.
I hope we can all agree that the works of mans OWN SELF righteousness will not save him. But then God has REQUIRED that all men every where should repent of their sins. I ask, isn't REPENTANCE a work, a deed, effort or an action in order for man to obey the Word of God?? Is man's REPRENTANCE his own work of SELF righteousness, or is repentance a WORK of OBEDIANCE to the Word of God??? It's not a question of how we perceive works, the question should be, how God portrays works in His word. It goes without saying that mans own self righteousness cannot save him, but the idea that anything a man does(repentance etc) is considered his own SELF RIGHTEOUS works is totally absurd. Never the less mainstream Christianity protects that assumption with a vengeance. Scripturally, when Christians and sinners alike obey Gods word, through a physical deed effort or action, that "work of obedience" is consider by God to be righteousness. Mainstream Christianity is at fault because they cannot/ or will not understand the difference between mans own self righteous works and works of obedience to Gods word. Mainstream Christianity in it's ignorance, attempts to tear down what God himself has created by their OWN interpretation of the word works.
