Until one is born again the only temptation known is the one for sin associated with the flesh. But once in regeneration by a renewing of the mind of Gods Spirit, then there is another set of temptations the kind our Lord faced. And the temptations of Jesus toward us to be like Him do not appeal to us as a flesh man of carnality and has no place in us. His temptations are God in the man and not many are willing and few who find His way.
The temptation of Satan does not tempt us to do wrong things, he tempts us to lose that what God put into us by regeneration of Gods Spirit in us and being of use to do Gods will and that is to have in you what Christ Jesus had in Him and His disposition. Satan’s goal is to shift your point of view away from Gods point of view of Christ be in you … which is the temptation of the devil and his disposition. Gods temptation is to restore in you that what has been taken away and this is what most reject His temptations to be like Him and one with Him, bowing to the temptations of Satan instead.
God does not come tempting us to sin but to shift or point of view and only Gods Spirit in you can detect the temptations of the devil and the temptations of God. They are not the same temptations and exactly opposite.
You are put to the test when you decided to follow the Christ. And then you say, no one is without sin. The reason one would make such a statement is because they do not know the temptations of God, and only the temptations of Satan who directs your thinking to the flesh man. But those who have rejected the temptations of Satan and the flesh ... confess that in Christ there is no sin. The difference in these temptations is night and day and becomes obvious in ones confessions.
Gods temptation is the life of the son of God in us. Christ in you. Who will follow His temptation?
