Your taste buds or keeping God's temple healthy?

These food laws were not abolished, i have seen no were which plainly says 'food laws abolished' itching eyes cruze through scripture trying to justify eating something considered an 'abomination' to you.

Leviticus 11

7And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. 8Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

1 Timothy 4

1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, 3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

God's original food law.
Genesis 9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. 2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered 3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

God's last given food law.

Romans 14:14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

9 The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour. 10 Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance 11 and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. 12 In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. 13 And a voice came to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”
14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”
15 And a voice spoke to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed you must not call common.”
16 This was done three times. And the object was taken up into heaven again.

Notice that the text says " foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving" so we must ask the question.

What foods has God created to be received with thanksgiving?

What foods has God created to be received with thanksgiving?
Why do we need to ask that, he is rebuking false teaching which takes foods and enforces abstaining. Look at the history of the early church, they were fighting against the issue of enforcing Jewish customs on Gentiles, so what do you think we are talking about?

Truth:

Romans 14:20
Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense.

if a bloody steak or pork chops offends your table mates, be kind enough to order something else.

not because God forbids it but because it is loving and kind to do.

now I ask you if someone who does not believe in Jewish laws or even Jesus Christ as savior, do you think they will always cook things according to Kosher eating laws? Yet Paul says this:

1 Corinthians 10:27
If any of those who do not believe invites you to dinner, and you desire to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no question for conscience’ sake.

as CanadaNZ said "Look at the history of the early church, they were fighting against the issue of enforcing Jewish customs on Gentiles, so what do you think we are talking about?"

2 Timothy 4:4 And every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be recieved with thanksgiving:

.....AND EVERY CREATURE OF GOD IS GOOD, AND NOTHING TO BE REFUSED, IF IT BE RECIEVED WITH THANKSGIVING

2 Timothy 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

2 Timothy 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives fables, and exsercise thyself rather unto godliness.

2 Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profits little but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

I hope this answers your question. Yes ok to eat Pork.

I believe th OP is forgeting the visions God gave Peter. He told him to "rise, kill and eat" things that were unclean under the Old Testament law. Now we are allowed to eat any meat. You should read about Peter's visions.

Im sure someone already posted this but: Acts 10:9-16.

Also the old laws were to separate Gods chosen people from all others and lead to the birth of Jesus. It was for them then, not us now.

1 Timothy 4:3
(3) Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Genesis 1:29-30
(29) And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
(30) And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

The verse in Timothy is not saying we can now eat anything we want but, their will be people who will command to abstain from food which God created to be eaten.

Peter was not talking about food.

Acts 10:13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter, kill and eat.

Acts 10:14 But Peter said, Not so Lord, for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.

Acts 10:15 And the voice spake unto him the second time, what God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Acts 10:17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate.

Acts 10:18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

Acts 10:19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold three men seek thee.

Acts 10:28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Lets also not forget the prophecy of the Lord's return given to Isaiah 66:16-17 "For by fire and by his sword will the Lord plead with all flesh: and the slain of the Lord shall be many. They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens, behind one tree in the midst, eating swines flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the Lord

I've ate pork all my life, and I've never had problems. I don't see it as a sin to eat pork. And sin is what separates us from God. I've never been convicted of eating bacon or pork. If you have, then don't eat it.

CONCLUSION: If it's separating you from God to eat pork, then don't eat it.
