Freedom means being free of the consequences of our sin. In other words, we are free when we stop sinning.

We will never be free of responsibility, nor would we want to be.

Hi Ress,

What you have stated above is not even biblical.

You are never free from the consequences of your sins. If you repent you are forgiven, however the consequences are still there.

And, we are not free when we stop sinning, by saying this you are saying the work of Jesus on the cross want at all perfect for redeeming.

WE ARE FREE WHEN WE ARE IN CHRIST. NOT WHEN WE DECIDE TO STOP SINNING.

For while we were yet still sinners Christ died for us!!!!

Also free to follow the lamb and not bound to traditions or the laws of man which contradict the laws of God.
Free to follow Jesus and not bound to this world and its trappings.

Free free free, free indeed .

We still face the consequences of pysical death and growing old and tribulation but we are free from the consequence of the second death.

We are free of the consequences of our sins for two reasons.

First, Jesus died on the cross to free us from the consequences of our sins.

Second, if we stop sinning, then there ARE no more consequences to our sins.

We can't stop sinning. Just an unholy thought is sin - good luck getting rid of all those. 1 John says those who say they have no sin deceives themselves, and the truth is not in them.

You CAN stop sinning. The Lord commanded us to.

Sin is always with us since Adam and eve bit the apple, and will be always with us until we are dead or resurrected, for sin is of the flesh.

But by faith Jesus has washed us clean from sin.

Jesus Died to free us from the bondage of sin Ress. If you sin, you are not freee from its consequences.

If I commit adultry, and repent am I free from the consequence? No.

If I Steal from a shop and I am caught and even though I repent. am I free from the consequences of that sin? No

So you see, we are forgiven of our sins if we repent but we are not free from the consequences!!!!

If I If I drink and drive and cause damage or kill some one and even though I repent, am I free from the consequences???? NO!

Now for your second point, If we Stop sinning (if that were possible), are we still free from the consequences of siuns already commited..of course not Ress... We are free from the guilt of sin.

This is a very important biblical truth.

When we repent we are free from guilt..but not its consequences.

Now answer just this one question.

If you were to hit someone out of anger, and repent are you freee from the consequences??

Do you think the police would come to your house and say " Oh thats OK Ress we know you have repented"

Oh and, have you stopped sinning ress? are you a sin free man?

If you don’t sin, there are no consequences.

Jesus died for our previous sins.

Ress now your changing the goal posts of your thread.

This is a hypothetical statement because we all sin. and we all have to deal with the CONSEQUENCES of all our past sins.."

Are you a sinless man?

The Bible teaches us to overcome but, we are not free when we stop sinning that is salvation by works, we are free when we are in Christ
Revelation 3:21
(21) To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Romans 8:1
(1) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

While we are free from the Law of sin and death we are not free from the immediate consequences of sin.
Romans 8:2
(2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
