This says the Lord, I am with you all. I am meek and lowly says the Lord. Cast your cares on me for I can bear them. I will be with those who hear my voice and heed my speach. This says the Lord, I am not far from you as one who cannot reach down and touch you. This says the Lord if you have faith I will touch the hymn of your garment and you will be healed in spirit or in body. I am generous says the Lord. I have heard your request and I have changed my manner. I have not forgotten those who are called by my name. God is your father, be of good courage, for all those called by my name will have great rejoicing, says the Lord.

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

Not defending the lad nor judging but just saying., I know a time is coming. I dunno how he received his message but until he speaks out of place I'ma bite my tongue

hi crimson.
look at the entire passage.
Peter is restating/confirming what Joel prophesied, and he said PENTECOST was the fulfillment of Joel.

Joel's prophecy came to pass in the last days: right after Christ's Ascension.

Acts 2
The Coming of the Holy Spirit
1When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and resteda on each one of them. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. 6And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. 7And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 8And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? 9Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, 11both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” 12And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” 13But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”

Peter’s Sermon at Pentecost
14But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 15For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.b 16But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:

17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 even on my male servantsc and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

Joel 2:28 - 835BC!
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

This verse says the Holy Spirit will speak. This verse says the Holy Spirit will speak what he hears. This verse says the Holy Spirit will show you things to come (that's prophecy). I'm afraid your doctrine Zone, does not allow the Holy Spirit to do what He was sent to do. When do you believe the Holy Spirit speaks, Zone? Because He does.

You know the more you say that the more it is obvious you have no Biblical support for your statements. You are a false teacher and just so you know the Lord says you are now more foolish than this prophet was. You do not listen to sound doctrine. Even a foolish man would listen to the Scripture if his heart was with God. You will be judged one day by God and your works will be dross.

is that so.
so The Lord has just told you that i'm a fool and don't listen to sound doctrine because i don't listen TO YOU?

i listen to scripture...but i denounce you charismatic false prophets.
scripture itself reveals you're phony.

well jonathan, your stuff works with your group. but not with many of us who know the truth.

you and i BOTH know you're a fake.

people eat your stuff up. because of biblical illiteracy and ZERO discernment.

Joel's prophecy came to pass in the last days: right after Christ's Ascension.
The thing is, there were several times when prophecies had both a near and long-term application to them. Such as, say, Isaiah 6:9, when the Lord said "Go, and tell this people, Hear you indeed, but understand not; and see you indeed, but perceive not." and it was meant for the Israelis of the time, but was ALSO fulfilled in Matthew 13:14.

no more prophets.
not you or any others.

you're a fraud.
While I am inclined to believe he's applying a cut-and-paste job to the Bible and calling it a prophecy, I also have yet to see any real proof that (besides the two in Revelations which is a given) there cannot be any prophets running around now or in the future.

I'm also somewhat sure that the Holy Spirit wouldn't send a prophet about who didn't know that the "hymn of your garment" should really be "hem".

Eph. 4:11,12 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

This is apostolic teaching as it was communicated to Paul by Jesus Christ... GALATIANS 1:12
For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught [it], but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Paul was taught the Gospel through Jesus, this is the qualifying sign of an Apostle, But a Prophet is qualified and valid, if, what is spoken is aligned with the scripture and the thing spoken comes to pass. Prophets must be accurate and not speak from the passion of their hearts, it will be manifested whether or not a prophet is truly sent of the Lord. A prophet is humble and is not presumptive, but will only speak as God has directed him. Beware of false prophets, for many will come in his Name and lead astray. Test the prophet by aligning the word and Spirit of truth.

The gift of prophet seems to have been a temporary gift given by the Christ for the laying of the foundation of the church. Prophets were foundational to the church. Ephesians 2:20 (KJV) The prophet proclaimed a message from the Lord to the early believers. Sometimes a prophet’s message was revelatory (new revelation and truth from God) and sometimes a prophet’s message was predictive Acts 11:28 (KJV) and Acts 21:10 (KJV)

The early Christians did not have the complete Bible. Some early Christians did not have access to any of the books of the New Testament. The New Testament prophets “filled the gap” by proclaiming God’s message to the people who would not have access to it otherwise.

The last book of the New Testament (Revelation) was not completed until late in the first century. So, the Lord sent prophets to proclaimed God’s Word to His people.

Are there true prophets today? If the purpose of a prophet was to reveal truth from God, why would we need prophets if we have the completed revelation from God in the Bible?

If prophets were the “foundation” of the early church, are we still building the “foundation” today? Can God give someone a message to deliver to someone else? Absolutely! Does God reveal truth to someone in a supernatural way and enable that person to deliver that message to others? Absolutely! But is this the biblical gift of prophecy? No.

Whatever the case, whenever a person claims to be speaking for God (the essence of prophecy) the key is to compare what is said with what the Bible says.

If God were to speak through a person today, it would be in 100% complete agreement with what God has already said in the Bible. God does not contradict Himself.
1 John 4:1 (KJV) instructs us, “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 (KJV) declares, “Do not treat prophecies with contempt.

Test everything. Hold on to the good.” So, whether is it a “word from the Lord” or a supposed prophecy, our response should be the same. Compare what is said to what the Word of God says. If it contradicts the Bible, throw it out. If it agrees with the Bible, pray for wisdom and discernment as to how to apply the message

Acts 21: 10-11. "And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judea a certain prophet, named Agabus. And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's belt, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus says the Holy Spirit, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owns this belt, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles."

I see a disconnect here.

Your observation on the temporary gift of prophecy as being only a foundation, is unfounded and is based on what you have been taught or is a personal opinion. The notion that this gift and the office of prophet only applied, due to a lack of new testament or the bible (OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT) is in great error.

We are built on the foundation of the prophets and Apostles, you don't remove the foundation and expect a fully functional church as was told us in Eph.4:11,12
