Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
Some say this verse proves the beast is not a kingdom but a man because it has the number of a man. But just because it has the number of a man doesn’t mean it is a man. There is no reason to believe a beast/kingdom can’t share a number with a man (kind of like giving your dog/pet a person’s name). Remember this is a spiritual battle that literally takes place in the literal world. In other words a battle between God’s kingdom and satan’s kingdom that takes place right here on earth. While it’s possible that this kingdom is all under one world government it appears to me that it is far more likely to be a religious system that believes the world should all believe the same and is willing to force people to accept it. Interestingly there is and has been for approximately 1400 years been a spiritual kingdom that believes this way. And as that kingdom grows so spreads its law and all it’s members place that law above Scripture and the true God's law. Those who follow this kingdom also believe the year is 1433 not 2011 so as we can see it does seek to change time and law. Not only does it believe that way but it arose out of the same geographic location that Daniel’s leopard, bear and lion kingdoms came from. Is it a coincidence that John also used the terms leopard bear and lion when describing the beast of Rev13, the beast that has the number of a man? Possibly but unlikely. This kingdom teaches the exact opposite of the Gospel. While it is true it targets all who refuse to submit, sura9:29 specifically target Jews and Christians (saints). So is it really any surprise that this spiritual kingdom actually claims the number 666?

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

THIS - TASTE IT, AND (KNOW) THAT FOR THE UNBELIEVERS IS THE PUNISHMENT OF FIRE. O you who believe! When you meet those who disbelieve marching for war, then turn not your backs to them. And whoever shall turn his back to them on that day - unless he turn aside for the sake of fighting or withdraws to a company - then he, indeed, becomes deserving of Allah's wrath, and his abode is hell; and an evil destination shall it be. So you did not slay them, but it was Allah Who slew them and you did not smite when you smote (the enemy) but it was Allah Who smote, and that He might confer upon the believers a good gift from Himself; (8:12-17)
