When the Holy Bible says we're no longer under the curse of the law, does that include the 50 commandments of Jesus?

50. Demonstrate God’s Power - Mk 16:17
One must assume that all of these commands are contained in the law (the five books of Moses) and summarized in the 10 commandments as well as in the greatest commandment and the golden rule. We are not under the curse of the law. This does not mean that there is no more law nor does it mean that any law-keeping can make us justified before God. We are justified through faith in Christ, which has accomplished all and everything needed for the salvation of His people. As a matter of gratitude and reverence God's people should strive to keep God's commandments, not to become justified but because we are justified, this by the grace we have received and through the power that comes with it, motivated by the love of God.

Depth? Jesus is Lord. Do as he said. It’s for your own good. If you commit adultery, you will wish you hadn’t. If you steal, you will wish you hadn’t. If you murder, you’ll wish you hadn’t. And on and on.

The teachings of Jesus are meant to help us. Read them and follow them. You’ll have a life of joy if you do.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Who freed us from the curse of the Law? Jesus did. Jesus is teaching how to be freed from the curse. You can't be free from the teaching of Jesus and free from the curse of the Law. Its one or the other.

You get the Way, The Truth and the Life.

Or The Curse.

Some people try to have both. Some people try to have neither. But really it is one or the other.

All commands of God have been in effect from the beginning (not only from when Jesus was on earth or when Moses came down from the mountain with tablets) and are all based on Love.
I feel that by adding up all the statements that Christ made and adding to the current law (10 commandments summarised as Love God with your all and Love neighbour as self) arent we becoming a bit like the Pharasees of old? who added on so many rules and regulations that it became a burden to keep instead of it being a joy?

Live a life of Love and you will be following the greatest comandment, which then incompasses all other sayings or statements made. (By this all men shall know that you are my disciples...)

The curse of the law, is the fact that no flesh will be justified by keeping it! Why? No one can keep it! Jesus is Lord, because he kept it!
The Law is still good, It will keep you out of lots of misery & woa! God Bless Mark!

Bloodwashed and Grandpa,

I'm interested how you understand the references to the "curse of the law" in Galatians 3:10 and 3:13?

Aren't these the curses of the Mosaic Law, as demonstrated in Deuteronomy 27?

In other words, isn't Paul telling us that we are free of the obligations of the Mosaic covenant, now that through Jesus, we receive the promise of the Spirit through faith?

Bloodwashed and Grandpa,

I'm interested how you understand the references to the "curse of the law" in Galatians 3:10 and 3:13?

Aren't these the curses of the Mosaic Law, as demonstrated in Deuteronomy 27?

In other words, isn't Paul telling us that we are free of the obligations of the Mosaic covenant, now that through Jesus, we receive the promise of the Spirit through faith?

We are free from the curses of the Mosaic Law because we do not "keep" the Law. No one is free from the obligations of the Mosaic covenant because it is an everlasting covenant. It is GODs Law. HE gave it for a reason.

We are free from the curse of the Mosaic Law because we follow the Spirit and against the Spirit there is no Law, nor can there be. By trying to keep the Law you will always fall short and sin.

Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. How is this done? By faith. We have faith in the Lord Jesus and His sacrifice for us.

Actually the answer is even better in Galatians itself.

Galatians 3:22-24
22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

23But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

tribesman. perfect answer! That's just what I was looking for.

Grandpa, Nalu.. I wish I knew what you are talking about. I don't think we're on the same wavelength. Also what are the obligations of the Mosaic covenant?

chips: Again, I'm not sure how much that really has to do with my question. Who said anything about adding to the commandments?
Bloodwashed: Good answer. Although I'd have to say Jesus is Lord for far more/deeper reasons than just that He kept the whole law.
