Though some might think him to have been too abrasive and hostile towards christianty, I think he had many valid points about religion and its influence in our world. I respect/ed the man. He was very smart.

yes he has some very memorable quotes:
"I would say that if you don’t believe that Jesus of Nazareth was the Christ and Messiah, and that he rose again from the dead and by his sacrifice our sins are forgiven, you’re really not in any meaningful sense a Christian." -Christopher Hitchens in conversation with a Universalist preacher The Hitchens Transcript -- News & Features though I disagree with many of his conclusions, some of his premises hold merit.

And who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not, as so many,[a] peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.. Col 3 15 Andlet the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. |

Thank you, Jordy, for replying to my post. Yours is the first of a grand total of only two responses that have been submitted since I wrote the OP two days ago. I was feeling kind of lonely here, all by myself - brooding over the lack of response(s) from KJVOnlyists and other KJV aficionados. Quo Vadis? I had almost concluded that this responselessness reflected rather poorly on the literary propensities of the CC forum readership. That is, until I read your most welcome - and eagerly awaited - reply. Oh well, different strokes for different folks, right? "De gustibus non est disputandum."

Hitchens was honest about his hatred of God.

FWIW, as opposed to reading the above transcript, you can hear the audio by simply googling <Hitchens-Sewell> and clicking on the appropriate U-Tube.

the lack of response is due more to that fact then the "literary propensities of the cc forum readership" most probably didn't even click on the thread due to the title, because they arent' interested in atheist. I happened to listen to Christian news update about him which is the only reason I responded.

Where did you come up with this hate God business? How could a man with the name of Christopher hate God? Aww...c'mon now, Jimmydiggs, get real, will ya? To the contrary, Christopher Hitchens was honest - and more than eloquent - about expressing his love of the King James Bible.

Here's one to start ya' off. Romans 8:7 English Standard Version (ESV) 7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Quote:

Hitchens is a great example of Romans 1. Craig totally smashed him.
