Callings

Yes I know I've posted this already...but I haven't gotten many answers. If this can prevented from being a debate, please don't make it a debate. There might not be much Scriptural basis for the question I'm about to ask...but here goes:

If one feels called into something maybe huge at one point in time, but then doubts....does that mean they're not called, or is Satan trying to talk them out of something that could greatly bless others and grow you spiritually, or are they just not ready yet?

I have, and maybe I'm not listening enough because I just feel like I get the same thing...and the thing is so crazy I don't think it could even happen. Nothing is impossible with God...but doesn't God stick to reality a bit?

I'm thinking of doing a prayer journal and writing it all down and see if I can untangle this whole thing with Jesus' help.

I believe you should follow what God is calling you to do, look at Esther in the bibile ,follow God,and
his word,not man

A good help in disernment I have found is the scripture that says, Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy.
Asking if this is presant will help.
Also, testing in Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh.
Another good question to ask ones self, , who recieves the glory?
Just some of the things that help disern,
And of course always prayer!

Yeah, I've decided I'm just going to just follow God...I might not know where he's leading me to...but whether it's crazy or sensible or huge or small, I'll do it.

Will you share with us what you believe God has called you to do? I don't know of any call that God has made upon any believer that was confidential, whether is was Samuel's call to be prophet as a child, or John the baptist in the womb, or Paul's when he was an adult or even any of the disciples that were called to come and follow Him.

Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it (1Thes 5:24).

One thing I always ask is...God if this is not your plan, close the door of oppertunity.
I just recently prayed this for something, and three times, something happened to stop me from going.
I took that as a clear sign the door was closed.

1. The opperator gave me the wrong #.

2. I had to cancel to go to the doctors.

3. The weather got so bad, they canceled on me.

After praying with a friend,
we asked if It was ment to be, they would call back and reschedule, they never did.
Even though I really wanted to go...
We thought God was closing the door.

Do not be discouraged my friend, if YHVH has revealed something to you concerning what He has planned for you, it doesn't necessarily mean it's anytime soon. Many times YHVH will show someone what He wants them to do and it won't be for yrs. because they need to be taught, trained up in His ways etc. King David was just a boy when YHVH had the prophet Samuel go and annoint him as King of Israel. But David didn't became King for 20 yrs. Another example, when Yeshua called Paul to serve him, He sent Paul into the wilderness for 3 yrs. before he could do anything. Also Joseph, YHVH kept giving him dreams which later proved to be what YHVH had planned for Joseph. But before all that happened, Joseph was sold into slavery, then falsely accused and spent yrs. in prison, before he was given the position that YHVH had planned for him all along.

You're young and YHVH has much to show and teach you. Coming from a dad's point of view, keep in your heart the excitement that YHVH has possibly shown you His calling for you. But now is the time for preparing for that position. Pray to Him and ask Him to lead and guide you in what He wants you to do to get ready. Enjoy the journey, because it will be alot of fun, to say the least. Shalom

I feel called into the music ministry. Like, not just church music (aka playing in church), but touring places and really going out there. It seems crazy that God's called that on me at 14/15 (in November before my birthday is when I first really felt it)...and it's also like, "Ok, I'm willing to do it. I love music, it really focuses me on God, and God has big-time moved me through it. " but it's like, was it just all thrill and not really God? But it's like, every time I hear music or listen to it, I want to grab my guitar (that I've been playing since my 10th birthday) and play with it (and I can, since I'm nearly pitch-perfect, and just a little bit of training would get me to being totally pitch-perfect). I want to learn more in music so I can be flexible...I have a violin (I have to admit since I don't have the basics on it I'm not getting as far), I can play guitar well, I could EASILY teach myself piano since I have the basics down for that, I just need to put aside time for it. So it's like, God has put that all there for me to do it for him. Also, I've been told that I have the gift of evangelism (not to be confused with being a pastor.). So it's like..."Ok, God, whatcha doin' up there??"

This is the perfect attitude to have, try to think on this what you said always. But the adversary the devil will do anything he can to discourage and convince you that YHVH has no plans for you. Remember to walk in faith, but faith is not an emotion, it's strength is not based on how good or bad you feel. YHVH's word does not come back void, when YHVH gives us a calling, the devil, not anyone can change that. So as you said, be patient, enjoy the journey YHVH takes you on to prepare you for your calling. And leave the rest in His hands. Remember, any leadings you feel, if they are contrary to the word of YHVH, than it is not from Him. Pray in all things. Shalom my friend.

It would seem to me that if the Lord was calling us to something huge, he would reveal this to us bit by bit. Satan might lead us to believe we are being called to something huge, in an effort to tempt us into prideful (sinful) behavior.

This may be, but I don't think so. I personally take no credit for the gifts I have, and if I got huge I wouldn't give the credit to myself. I wouldn't be here without God. I wouldn't be able to do what I do without God. My life has for the past few months has been about Him, and Him only. I don't want the spotlight to be all on me. Because it's not all me. And that's why if I do go into music, I'd like to do a band. I don't think credit is bad, but I sure don't think it's top priority. Whatever I do, may it be to the glory of God and God alone. I'll accept the compliment that I'm talented. But I'm not going to be like "Yeah, I did it all."

And honestly, God hasn't given me everything...I don't have a whole lot besides what I've posted.
