Zephaniah 3:9 New Living Translation. All people can communicate with translation tools on the internet. Or does this mean we should all learn Hebrew?

שָׂפָ֣ה lips
בְרוּרָ֑ה purified

that is the translation I found of the hebrew

I don't think it has anything to do with language as such, more that our way of speaking should not be sinful¨
I do not know the context though, so I could be wrong

besides, the bible is also in greek and arameic, so I don't see why we would have to learn hebrew

Stargazing: [. Or does this mean we should all learn Hebrew?[/quote]

Learning Hebrew is a wonderful tool for understanding God principles.

God first taught us using the Hebrew language. It is a language expressing a different way of thinking called Hebrew thinking as opposed to our Greek thinking. Some call it functional or concrete thinking as opposed to aesthetic thinking. Hebrew thought is doing rather than just thinking about it. The Hebrew word for atonement means a covering, we say it is Christ covering for our sins.

As we study scripture, God seems to call for both so it seems to me we grow spiritually as we learn both. He said “faith without works is dead”. Christ said that we should go in our closet to fast, don’t do it to just impress people, or as we say don’t do empty rituals. Learning Hebrew helps us understand the physical to go along with our spiritual teaching.

If that is what the NLT says, you need to throw that thing in the trash. God says He will restore the Holy language back, which is hebrew, we won't need to learn it, it will be given to us when Yeshua returns.

Sir with all due respect I have read several of your questions.
I understand that you want answers.

May I suggest trying to make your questions more apparent and understandable.

I am not trying to be mean, but am asking this with kindness.

Zep 3:9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.

I just love this excerpt from Albert Barnes commentary on this verse.

Christians, as Christians, speak the same language of Faith, and from all quarters of the world, one language of praise goes up to the One God and Father of all. : “God divided the tongues at Babel, lest, understanding one another, they should form a destructive unity. Through proud men tongues were divided; through humble Apostles tongues were gathered in one. The spirit of pride dispersed tongues; the Holy Spirit gathered tongues in one. For when the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, they spake with the tongues of all, were understood by all; the dispersed tongues were gathered into one. So then, if they are yet angry and Gentiles, it is better for them to have their tongues divided. If they wish for one tongue, let them come to the Church, for in diversity of the tongues of the flesh, there is one tongue in the Faith of the heart.”

A most excellent commentary on the name of Jesus.

Phil 2:10-11 "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

I think this is about gaining a better knowledge of the Lord’s ways, and thus talking more intelligently about him.
