Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa, gives an amazing speech on How to be Effective Preachers of Jesus at Beeson Divinity School, an evangelical Christian college. It's an incredible message. :) It's long, but well worth it.

And God spoke all these words, saying: “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
You shall have no other gods before me.

You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

You shall not murder.

You shall not commit adultery.

You shall not steal.

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

I'd rather not turn this into a graven images thread. Especially because that misses the point of the video completely. But that said, there's nothing in the Scriptures against making carved images. Nor is there prohibition against using images in the worship of Our Lord. In fact, there's instances where making carved images is commanded by God.

"And you shall make two cherubim of gold [i.e., two gold statues of angels]; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end; of one piece of the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be" (Ex. 25:18–20).
Not also when David gave Solomon the plan "for the altar of incense made of refined gold, and its weight; also his plan for the golden chariot of the cherubim that spread their wings and covered the ark of the covenant of the Lord. All this he made clear by the writing of the hand of the Lord concerning it all, all the work to be done according to the plan" (1 Chr. 28:18–19). David’s plan for the temple, which the biblical author tells us was "by the writing of the hand of the Lord concerning it all," included statues of angels.

Similarly Ezekiel 41:17–18 describes graven (carved) images in the idealized temple he was shown in a vision, for he writes, "On the walls round about in the inner room and [on] the nave were carved likenesses of cherubim."

The issue is when we worship the images rather than the Creator. But in the context of the video above, it's obvious that the speaker wasn't worshiping the images, he was focused on preaching Jesus Christ. And it's a really great message if you take the time to actually watch it.

1Co 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

Without the Word you have no throne and if you have no throne you have no kingdom to rule. The Word of the one that sits on the throne gives the kingdom the ability, the power and authority to reign in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom 14:17). There are plenty of those that can talk with words that are void and empty of spirit and life. But the kingdom is demonmstrated with power through the Word of life (1Jn 1;1, Phil 2:16).

Ok. But what does that have to do with the video? Have you even watched it? Was anyone worshiping the images in the video? Or were they focused on Jesus?

Everything.....

The Catholic church is not doing good in the sight of Almighty God Yahweh.

They use scripture to lead people away, not to Yeshua our Saviour so that they may be reconciled with their Almighty God Yahweh.

It is so well done that the followers can't see past the Pope any more...

You see when you can't beat them join them, and that is what the Romans did to the people that searched for their God Almighty Yahweh, they wanted salvation and accepted the Messiah Yeshua as their Saviour.

Infiltrate and change from within, until they forgot the truth and ready for false teaching....

Well, not everyone will be mislead that way, but are by other false teachings, that will all come back to one place "evil" "satan"

But to these people he is helping them escape the prison, they were put in by their creator...

Well it is not a prison, it is a safe haven, and Almighty Yahweh God only ever wanted us to listen, love and obey, because he alone loves us and wants what is best.

Yeshua our Saviour was a sacrifice so that he can forgive us and we can be saved.

What else do you people want? He gave us food, water, shelter.... you wanted more, he gave us his only son to die in our place, despite the fact that he had no sin!

How would you feel if you had to send your son for a sacrifice, knowing that all those he was the sacrifice for, were wicked and your son innocent?

Is that not the ultimate show of love?

Our God Yahweh is going to punish the wicked, accept salvation through Yeshua our Saviour.

Forget all of these man made traditions, they are all in vain........

I was interested and seen a little ... then I commented why I do not believe we should listen to it.

I told you why I did not continue with your video with reference to the Bible.

:)

I was genuinely interested and thought there may be a benefit from the clip.

I would urge you to watch it again. Keep in mind that Paul preached to the Corinthians in front of pagan temples filled with statues. Would you have ignored him because of the statues behind him? The speaker is visiting a college and doesn't really have much control over the architecture, but he does give a very powerful message on how to preach Jesus Christ effectively
