yes I do also very much so, however actually an apostle can also be a missionary, as much so were the twelve who was sent out to start churches. and had special powers to get the job done.

if you don't believe in prophets you don't believe all the Bible
Ac 2:17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

ephesians 2 : 19-20

So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of god´s holy people.
you are members of god´s family. Together, we are his house built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets.
And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself

9Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, 20built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Apostles and prophets are described as the 'foundation' of the church. If there are still apostles and prophets today, that means God is still in the process of laying his foundation?

I kinda think he's over the foundation laying stage.

I believe in the apostles and prophets. The foundation of their teaching is found in the Bible. Our faith rests on what they have already revealed to us.

I believe the canon of scripture is closed, so there really isn't a need for more apostles and prophets like we see in the Bible. If you're looking for some apostolic or prophetic teaching, open the bible and you'll see and read the foundation that's already been put out there.

Failure to believe in modern day prophets and apostles does not mean failure to have a foundation. The foundation is already there. It's our job to open the Bible and read the foundation God already put out there through his prophets and apostles.

FYI: the 'cornerstone' is also called a "capstone". It sits at the TOP of the building, not the bottom as many think. And this makes sense, because CHRIST is the Cornerstone...the CAPstone and is at the TOP, leading His church.

The "prophets" and "apostles" (the twelve) did lay the foundation. christ was the cheif cornerstone that they started from. but the five fold ministry offices - Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastor and teachers are needed until the body has grown to the fullness of the stature of christ. Christ is still at work in the earth bringing about his will and perfecting the saints in his fullness and in the different giftings.
"And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; eph 4:11

We have not yet come to the unity of the faith or come to the stature of the fullness of christ. The thing about the original 12 apostles is they were with Him. and so were sent to testify of what they had seen and heard. (apart from paul) it was all about the witness. Gods kingdom is not yet established in the earth, and a pastor is not going to do it. nor will a teacher, or evangelist.

All are needed but there is differnet function and different manifestation or demonstaration from God in the apostle and prophet than the others. and the apostolic order that will come through true apostles is something we all need to submit to. not to a man but to the order of god that is coming apon the earth. what do u think the world will look like when god is ruling truely in his might? we wont be doing our thing, having our own opinions, going our own WAY. there is a measure of the holy spirit that cannot be released into the eath until the order of god is in place. he is a god of order, not confusion. and the offices of prophet and apostle carry a different element of the mid and heart of God that has not yet been fully manifested as yet.

god is also going to restore all things, hes not just going to turn up banish the evil doers, smite the earth and run of with his saints. the bible says that god will glorify himself IN his saints. we will overcome in this life, and we will see the demise of the works of darkness. as the darkness increases so will the light until the dawning of that day when Jesus returns toi a bride WITHOUT SPOT OR BLEMISH. it is going to take apostolic order to bring this about, but remember the OFFICE of apostle will only FACILTATE who god is, its not about us, its about Him.

Not everyone will get this :) but only those god is calling, he has been working for along time in the hearts of his elect. if u feel the call today - answer him. he loves you, and will not be stopped by the wisdom of man or anything else. yeeeehaaaa the lord is coming in glory, but hes coming in us first, this is not a lone soldier move it is the body, in formation, not breaking RANK, in ORDER under Christ Her King!

I believe what you are saying is true!
I am like Paul, I preach what I have seen and heard, and I go where ever the Lord sends me. I build churches one temple at a time.
We are the temple that Jesus is building, not a temple made with human hands!
I hold the offices of Apostle and Prophet in the church!

God has not changed from the old to the new without His Prophets, and if God did not use prophets in this time, what are the two prophets doing in the book of Rev. 11, you know the two who are killed and raise from the dead, the two the World Hates and give presents to each other in celebration of their deaths!

In what capacity to you hold BOTH offices? Where in scripture does one read that a prophet was also an apostle. Apostles are the ones that go to different regions and plant churches. The OFFICE of the prophet is always a prophetically gifted person that is called to regions larger than one's own church.
Apostles, while called to be so by God, ALL undergo training, as do those called to the OFFICE of the prophet. Being apostolic or prophetic does NOT mean that one is called to the OFFICE. We are all called to be prophetic...hearing the voice of God in order to edify, exhort, and comfort the Body of Christ. Paul mentions several times another disciple that he was training, raising up into the office of the apostolic. Without proper mentorship and guidance from senior (older, more mature in the Lord) apostles and prophets, we end up with too many people that THINK they are called to the office when they are not and they most often end up in heresy of some sort.
So again, in what capacity are you able to function in BOTH?

An Apostles is one sent By God with a message and they can only tell you what they have seen and heard from Him! Do not be confused with what the church now a days calls an apostle because if you study the life of an apostle you will find the churches they built back then started one person at a time, or one house at a time, not a building with four walls with a cross on it. They lived their lives telling people what they saw with their own eyes and heard with their own ears, what Jesus said and did. They lived a life of going where the Lord wanted them to go, and they said the things the Lord wanted them too say, which built the church Jesus is building, one person at a time, or one house at a time, it had nothing to do with money or selling any products.

As far as prophet goes, they are ones who see what God is doing and where you need to go. They use to be called seers!
In some churches they call me prophet, but then in others they call me apostle.

Usually, I just say I am a child of God!

I go where the Lord sends me, I say what the Lord tells me, and my life is not my own. My message is Love and A thing called saving Grace, and about a man named Jesus who set me free, and a God who revealed Himself to me in a mighty way!
I testify of what I have seen and heard but how sad that few will believe the message God has placed in me! Those who do, find out what Love is! Therefore they find God, for God is Love!
I have signs and wonders following me where ever I go, and most of the time people do not even know my name!
And get this, I do it for free, on the streets and in my own home everyday! I live a life of an apostle and have done this for over 20years.

In most churches they call me prophet because I hear from God but I just keep going where the Lord sends me, most of the time people just need the title of child of God and let what God has placed in them just happen as your relationship grows with Him.
If someone is a prophet God makes them a prophet not man.(By relationship with Him)
If someone is an apostle it is by God and not man.
but all and all we are all children of God, and if I am doing what God has told me to do, and you are doing what God tells you to do, it does not matter what title is held. It will all work as God has planned.

I don't think there's any rule in the bible that says a person can't have more than one gift.

ummmm amen to that.

While it is impossible to totally separate prophecy from prophets, it doesn't take a prophet to prophesy. Prophecy is a call to a person to deliver a specific revealed message. The one who speaks it is not responsible for the response, only for its delivery. God can choose anyone to speak a needed truth, even a donkey, as Balaam found out. Amos, the first of the so-called 'minor' prophets, wasn't a career prophet but a herdsman and tree-tender who obeyed God's call to prophesy on a few brief but very important occasions. ~ Oct 2003, Robert Longman Jr.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit are not the same thing as an office of ministry. Gifts are given by God at conception. Each person excells at one, two or three but can operate in all of them; discernment, wisdom, healing, hospitality/serving/helps; prophecy; words of knowledge, etc....these are not offices. Offices of ministry are VOCATIONS and in the Bible, you never see anyone operating in more than one office. But in each of those offices, are all the giftings at some degree or another.
