What are your thoughts on these concepts---renewing your mind/having the mind of Christ?
Use scriptural references if possible. List your sources even if it's Pastor Joe from First Community Church.
Be practical. What does it look like in real life today? How do we apply it now? While we may not all use the same formulas, what works for you?

1. What does it mean to renew your mind?
2. What does it mean to have the mind of Christ? What is the mind of Christ?
3. How can you renew your mind or allow your mind to renewed?
4. How can you get/access (since scripture says we already have it) the mind of
Christ?

Please don't think I'm differentiating between scripture and practicality to imply that scripture is
not practical.
Ex:
Scripture: pray without ceasing.
Practical: I have developed connections in my mind that signal me to pray. I set my alarm. I am alerted to pray when I see flames or smoke or hear an ambulance. I keep a scripture above my desk
at work to remind me to pray.

Love that scipture.. but we have the mind of christ.

Renewing my mind for me means, im in the word every single day and im on my knees beside my bed praying every day. My mind was a mess, so i depend on the word of God for my sanity.

Christ's mind is peace, christs mind is love, its everything Good and pure and Holy. His mind is stability, his mind is calm. He is the very escense of the fruits of the spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, self control. The word says we have those things as well, paul says we have the mind of christ. So i can take hold of all of those things.

Pray and ask God to renew your mind. Allow him to do it. You can do nothing apart from christ. It clearly says that in his word. So ask him and allow him to do it

How can you get access to the mind of christ.... Not sure i get what you mean by that.

it is about an attitude. Well described by the psalmist:

Ps.1

[1] Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
[2] But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
[3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
[4] The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
[5] Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
[6] For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

1. What does it mean to renew your mind?
To renew our minds is to replace our old thoughts with the word of God. We put off the old man which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts and put on the new man which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
2. What does it mean to have the mind of Christ? What is the mind of Christ?
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. Philippians 2:5 That is the renewed mind. Christ always did will of the Father and carried out His word perfectly.
3. How can you renew your mind or allow your mind to renewed?

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly . . . Colossians 3:16 I like an analogy I heard once - comparing a drip coffee maker with thoughts that we put in our minds. Basically, renewing our minds with the word of God drip by drip - thought by thought.
4. How can you get/access (since scripture says we already have it) the mind of
Christ?
The more we renew our minds to God's word, do the Father's will by carrying out what we know from God's word then we will manifest the mind of Christ.

I talk to myself a lot! This is the verse I like and practice: Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5

By accessing the mind of Christ, I mean if wc are not using the mind of Christ which us given to us; then now do ww begin to use it. However, you already answered it.

Jesus used the word of God when confronting unbelievers, religious leaders, demon possessed, and sick people (even dead people). I think when we read and learn God's word our thoughts and attitudes begin to line up with the mind of Christ. Having said that it's still a battle ground and life long process.

There is another way that my mind is renewed outside of reading the bible. Many times when something is bothering me, I get a piece of paper/pencil and actually ask the Lord to give me His thoughts on it. ALWAYS works. I get comforting, reassuring words (many times scripture comes to mind), and new perspectives come into play. Ones that I had not thought of.

I am renewed not only in my mind, but in my heart too.

I've learned to listen and wait before the Lord for His guidance. And it never contradicts what is written in scripture. I would only caution people to know that bible well so you will recognize His voice when it comes to you personally.

Ah, that made me think of auto writing, and thats an abomination.

Are you the one controlling the writing when you do this? Like, just writing down whatever comforting words come to mind? Or are you actually asking for something to do the writing for you, and letting something else move your arm?

Excellent questions on one of my favorite subjects. To put it as simple as possible, it means that I give up my thoughts about any subject or situation and get my thoughts in line with what God's word says about that.

If I have a financial lack........What does the word say? God supplies all my needs. I give and it is given again good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. Wealth and riches are in my house. God has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

I'm not trying to get God to do something. I'm just agreeing with what God has already said. I'm basing my views on this on what God says instead of what it looks like to me. It's called walking in faith. It's not something weird though where I deny or ignore natural circumstances. It's just believing that God can overcome natural circumstances.

Oh please! You can't be serious. Some people like me write down the thoughts that God inspires them with. It is called keeping a devotional journal. Don't you ever do this?

Then you could have been more clear on what you wrote, what you wrote sounded alot like auto writing, and believe it or not there are many people who call themselves Christian who do this. I was once a part of it too.

Theres no need to act offended, if you thought a follower of Christ was doing it, wouldnt you warn them, too?
