I was wondering what many of you believe scripturally when it comes to the sick. We have had alot of requests for prayer and I know that there are some who view illness as evil or oppression. I personally have seen God glorify himself in my life because of my health issues and my daughters. I have also seen healing. I have come to know through his spirit that the world will have its trials. it matters more how we live in faith rather than wether we get what we want here. The second part is visiting those that are ill or in need. I know for myself it is not so much help I need but fellowship in Jesus. More so lately as I have developed an auto-immune issue that reacts to sunlight. It breaks my heart to know of others also battleing illness that have been forgottrn by their christian community. I do know scripture says you can heal the sick but it also talks about caring for them. So the message to me is that it can go both ways according to Gods purpose, and what will Glorify him. I am content with this as I have come to realize that what matters is the health of my spirit. So what is your take. Again I say there is no wrong answer, We must all live with what Our Lord Jesus has put on our hearts for his purpose. God bless. pickles

Of course I don't have a scriptural view, so I'm just going to post a warning that it is dangerous to rely on God alone to cure the sick, make sure they see a doctor and recieve professional aid. From there on, feel free to do what you want faith-wise.

God gave us these hands and these brains for a reason he gave us the ability to help heal eachother we shouldn't neglect that. Am I right?

Jas 5:13Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.Jas 5:14Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Mr 11:24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.Mr 11:25And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.Mr 11:26But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
the key to prayer is believe that God can answer your prayer believe that God has heard your prayer, and the key to knowing that God has heard, is to pray with a clean heart, with nothing against any.

Jas 5:16Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent PRAYER of a RIGHTEOUS man availeth much.1pe 3:12For the eyes of the Lord are over the RIGHTEOUS, and his ears are open unto their PRAYERs: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
If you call upon the elders of your Church, if your Church don't believe James 5:14 then find another Church that does, it is Bible. then have them anoint you and pray, now if you have done this then DON"T pray for that healing any more. if you pray for that illness again then where is your faith that God heard your prayer. I have just recently been healed of diebetes. i have been on medicine for my blood sugar for about two years now. two weeks ago at Church I had three people ( two or more) anoint me and pray. and the next day a man told me something out of the blue, concerning a certain food (peanut Butter) that I had been eating, that was bad for me, I quit eating that type of food the very next day My blood sugar was down in the 90's, I quit taking my medicine about 5 days ago. i am eating ice cream, drinking soft drinks( full strength not diet) with my lunch. and my blood sugar has not been over 131 since. Praise the Lord!!
we get sick and we get all kind of people and churches to put us on their prayer list, so we pray, they pray, everyboby prays all kind of prayers are being lifted up to God it is like wave after wave of prayers hiiting the coast of heaven. When God said
Jas 1:6But let him ask in faith, nothing WAVERING. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. if we are obedient to James 5:14 then we believe that God heard our prayer and God can fulfill our prayer, then why run to everyone we know and say please prayer for me I have cancer. and while we are on cancer you have to curse cancer in the name Of Jesus, just as Jesus cursed the fig tree that the cancer will dry up even at the roots, that it will not come back. people will get healed from cancer, as it will go into remission or go away only to come back usually somewhere else , cause we pray only for a healing, the branches die off, but the roots are still there and it springs up again see God said in mark 16 that the ones that believe can lay hands on the sick and they shall recover, and again in james 5:14, is it the will of God for the children of God to be healed, Jesus received His stripes that we were healed, if it had not been The will of God then He would not had allow Jesus the be beaten. He was beaten for our healing , died for our salvation , we believe the salvation part, but are weak in our healing part

Thaddaeus, I have to ask you, what is the true healing we should seek? I have come to know that the true healing is that of the spirit. The true mirical is when one no longer is ruled by the body but by the spirit. I know that scripture says that the world will have difficultys. I have seen those in the throws of many difficulties no longer concerned with what they have or face because their spirit has been healed or recieved a miriaculous gift. Over the last years and even more reciently the body no longer controlls my spirit but the spirit controlls the body. In this mirical all else of the world is temporary in the comparison to eternity.I wish you could see what Jesus has revieled to me in this. I do respect and take joy in what you have shared, but what is the true goal ? a perfect body or spirit? I have seen healing in body many times, my own son was healed of a difficuty that required surg. Drs were baffled at how it was there than gone. But what should one truelly seek in faith? If I have a choice it would be the gifts of Our Lord Jesus's spirit. Also part two of my post. How often have you visited the sick? Why do we as christians say so much yet live so little of his word. As Our Lord has said, I would rather than in word of love have you love me in deed and truth. I know that scripture supports healing but all things are according to what pleases God Our Father and is of his creation. God bless, pickles

I am sorry you suffer from an illness that keeps you indoors. That must be very difficult. I believe God does initiate illness in some cases to get our attention but that is not always the case. I do know He uses illness in my life. I have grown more like Him during trials I have experienced. I am sorry the community of believers have not visited you. Have you let your needs to be visited be known? I don't know what to do sometimes. I am unable to drive because of my eyesight but I love to visit folks, sick or not. Beware of depression creeping up on you. I know chronic illness usher it in at times. I have experienced it. I pray your immune system will get back to normal soon.

Jesus loves you. He doesn't want you sick. We live in a cursed world because of Adam. By the blood Jesus shed for you and me we can be healed if we believe in God and his power that he can do all things. He can do all things for those who believe. If you believe he can make you well he can make you well. If you don't believe he has power to do all things then he can't make you well. It is by your faith in him he has power over you. Believe in him. Jesus doesn't make people sick the evil in this world makes people sick. Learn about your God and know he wants you well and happy. He nailed sickness to the cross. But you have to pick up your cross, your faith and walk with through the storm never giving up on God is God and can do all things. Put satan under your feet in the name of Jesus. Get all better with God, Love

I really don't understand the reason behind this post, I took it as you were seeking from others their take on helping the sick, I told you my take on it. then you post this post as with a controversial spirit, as if you are right and I am wrong, and then tell me we need to walk in the spirit. what spirit are you walking in with this post did I ever say that we were not to seek a true healing. I even said that we need to go to God in prayer with a clean Heart ( spirit). you talked about being sick and your daughter I was just trying to help and to encourage, not start a argument. sorry for responding. God bless

Im sorry Thadaeus, I did not mean to attack. You just got on the recieving end of my frustration with those who only see healing as physical only. I did not mean to do this. I should have voiced it towards those that treat the sick as not true christians. I guess I struck a cord with myself. So much so I had to stop writing to cry. I have asked for home visits and been forgotten. When I hear others making statements and quoting scripture yet not living the word it hits a sore spot. This statement is not directed at you. Truth told I could use more healing for this myself. Its funny I did not intend this post to go this way, I had hoped to create an awareness. Worked both ways, Gods love and humor always amazes me. I did enjoy seeing you in your words though. I hope you will accept my apology. God bless, pickles

apology accepted, I too have spoken out of frustration, with my response to you, so i stand in need of forgiveness also. now let the healing begin. I don't know why God doesn't Heal all, sometimes it's not His time , others times He uses illnesses to keep us humble. sometimes He teaches us through our afflictions and then there is the faith issue. I know I have learned alot of valuable lessons From the death of my oldest daughter. and apparently I still need to learn a few things. Don't feel sorry for me through , for I am blessed far more than I deserve. God was not a mean God when He called My Katherine home, but He was an awesome God for allowing me to be Katherine's daddy for 19 years. She taught our family so much about faith, and being content. and now He is looking after her til me and mama can get there and she ain't hurting anynore, WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE! He has allowed her to come to us in dreams and visions, with a lesson with every visit, Now my tears of mourning have truely turned into tears of joy. For when I think of her being at the side of her Jesus I can only stand and praise His Holy Name. and say come quickly Lord, Jesus. I am sorry that you have been nelgected by christians, but when we get to the point that Jesus is all we have, then we learn that Jesus is all we need. to encourage some I will close with this testamony. I have visited those sick and every time, I go so that I can be a blessing through Jesus, to those that are sick, but every time I go thinking that I am going to be a blessing I am the one that receives the blessings.

Mt 25:34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:Mt 25:35For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:Mt 25:36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.Mt 25:37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?Mt 25:38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?Mt 25:39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?Mt 25:40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

pickles please accept my apology also.

Thadaeus, I did not know you had lost your daughter, I came close with two of my children and I know the fear that gripped my heart. Yet Im sure it cannot come close to what you went through. Its good to hear that Jesus has given you peace. The amazing part of all the health issues is not the physical pain but the Isolation. Part of the reason that it has been such is we had just moved to where we live now when my health and my daughters came to be and had no chance to establish with a church. My daughter still struggles with her relationship with God but I sence she is coming to a peace with it. I think many who battle illness would agree with me in that Jesus gives you peace in this, it is the lonelyness that can be hard. Although I often joke with Jesus that this is my desert. I often feel like I have this huge chest of Jewels and no one to share it with. I just have to trust that Jesus has a plan for all of it. The good news of today is I saw the dr about the strange turn in my health and it actually may explain what has been the problem for 20 yrs. It is treatable, except for a few restrictions, but it could mean an improvement in my life. The diag. will take some time but Ive already done 20 yrs whats a few months compared to that. I guess if there is any message that stands out in this post it is humility and an awareness of the needs of our fellow christians that have been forgotten. Thanks for the scripture in you last post. I had wanted to find it myself . God bless and thankyou, pickles
