It is impossible to separate who God is from His words and from His Spirit. His words and Spirit reveal who God is. To worship God then, we must worship Him in Spirit and in truth through the words that He has spoken unto us. We do not worship per se His Spirit or His word but we worship Him in the Spirit and in the truth that He has given to us. Hearing the word of God preached through the power of the Spirit is the highest form of worship for the believer. All other forms of worship that is directed toward the living God comes from hearing God's words that have been spoken to us through the Spirit. The priority of the believer is to be in a place that God has called them to hear the word through preaching and teaching followed up with personal study and meditation.

For the believer to truly worship God, the word must separate the soul from the spirit within the believer so that the word can really enter in without the soul consuming it upon the flesh. The only way that can effectively happen is when we put ourselves under the word and that means to hear it preached from a Spirit-filled servant of God who has been called to do just that. Putting ourselves under the word takes humility, discipline and faith-obedience. The word that we hear is the word that keeps us and dwells within us, to keep us from sin and gives us great peace in the midst of adversity and trouble. The more we put ourselves under the word the more we have of the word filling up and furnishing the rooms of our soul or house.

Our worship in Spirit and truth is characterized by a peace within that goes beyond understand, with a joy that is unspeakable and full of glory and has a love that goes beyond knowledge. That seems like a paradox but it's not. The results of our worship is produced in us, in our soul, by the living God which is glorifying His Son in us as members of His body, flesh and bones with love, joy and peace. That glorification of His Son in us reveals to the world that we are in Christ's stead as His ambassador with a ministry and word of reconciliation. This becomes our vocation as we go out into all the world to reveal a glorified Christ, through a glorious gospel as He present us to Himself as a glorious church.

Can we worship Jesus Christ outside the body of Christ? Some professing believers do not think that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh, so they would have no reason to worship Him. However, those that do believe that Christ was God in the flesh, who died, was buried and rose again, we worship Him now as the ascended Christ in Spirit and truth, who sits at the right hand of the throne of God. Is it possible to worship Jesus Christ outside the body of Christ?

Christ is the head of the body (Eph 4:15, 5:23) and we are members of His body, flesh and bones (Eph 5:30). How are we going to worship our head (Christ) if we are living outside the body in our experience? What does it mean to live outside the body experientially, even though we are a member of it? Is that possible, yes it is!

1Cor 10:16,17

16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

1Cor 12:12

12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

Right now God sees us as one body partakers of that one bread positionally. The word for 'partaker' is metecho, a (present, active, infinitive) verb that refers to an action that either has occurred or will occur. Some members of the body are partakers of that one bread experientially and some are not at present. Why is that? If we are not experientially a partaker of the body of Christ, then we are not receiving from the head (Christ) and we are not able to worship Him in Spirit and truth. We are saved and we love the Lord but we are not walking in the light of God's word being filled with the Spirit and our worship falls short of what it should be.

I think i see your point. You brought up experientially. My past experiences have been like this:

all have different gifts where they are divinely influinced and empowered to supply other members
of the body with. Alone i cant supply my gift. Then you have the others that have specific gifts that
i need. Alone i cant receive that. So alone i get constipated and malnourished at the same time.

But He didnt want it that way, did He. No we wont fit in this world and we really cant be content
without being placed into the body as it pleases Him.

I took down some trees that had their roots damaged and an ice storm broke off major branches.
Were they alive? Well i spose you could say that...but they were certainly crippled. Nice topic :)

Abiding,

You have brought up something interesting that involves our need for the body of Christ. I learned early as a believer the importance of having relationships with other believers because they had a portion of Christ's body that I did not, and I needed their portion as much as they needed my portion. As a young believer, who made lots of mistakes, I learned from these other believers how vital their supply from the Spirit really was. There was such a variety of portions and when they assembled themselves together it was amazing how Christ was magnified in their midst. Their love covered me and their wisdom helped guide me in the right direction. That direction was always where Christ was taking His body in the next step. They did not magnify my weakness and frailties and did not condemn me when I failed. Being treated that way always drew my heart to the Lord and gave me a greater desire and capacity to worship and seek Christ in Spirit and truth.

Exactly!! what rewards we can get from simple obedience.
I never know who is gona bless and help me next. Will it be
another 14 yr old?

By the way i like that you mentioned the Holyspirit and the word
like that. Being indivisible makes it more understandable. I pray
all can understand that.
