What I am seeing in many posts on this forum is what is coming out of the church system, they proclaim they are following Christ, but are instead following thier flesh!
I pray others can see this, as its definitely not of God, what professing Christians are saying about porn, sex, drugs, worldly entertainments, all kinds of addictions, etc,, the list is endless, there is no urgency for truth, all is well, and who am I to warn them to repent or perish! Luke 13-3.
I went on to a thread about banning porn, another on who watches porn, and many said they do, its no big deal so it seems, but no one is repenting, and fleeing all sexual immorality.
I see the cancer of original sin, substitution, OSAS, sinners prayer conversions, etc,, coming into play here, and the effects are a lukewarm church, full of sin, darkness, and corruption, double minded, and full of lust and worldliness!
Again I stress if your pastors are not preaching against sin, and warning you to repent, 2 Cor 7-10-11, and telling you that you are a poor sinner saved by grace, and you will sin everyday in thought , word and deed, because no one can stop fornicating, watching porn, lying, cheating and stealing, etc, then you are on the road to perdition and in a dead church!
When your pastor tells you sin is normal, no one can stop it , God understands and feels sorry for you, and that no sin will exclude you from the kingdom, and you believe this as I did for many years, then you are being deceived, as the soul that sins shall surely die. Eze 18-20.
The word says you sow what you reap, and those who profess Christ, and think nothing wrong with watching porn, fornication, getting drunk, and loving the world more than God, have bought into the lie, and seeing the consequences of what is being taught as truth today!
The early church was a pure and holy bride, cleansed and purged from thier sins through a real repentance and faith.
They kept themselves pure and undefined from the world, studied the word night and day, guarding thier hearts from the corruption of the time. They were highly persecuted, hated and abused, and lived simple lives in humble obedience and devotion to Christ and His truth, knowing that they could fall away, and needed to guard thier hearts, hold fast, be diligent, abstain from all forms of evil, defend and contend earnestly for the faith, lay aside all filthyness and overflow of wickedness, endure to the end, make thier calling sure, work out thier salvation with great fear and trembling!
Compare this to most of the churches today, and you can clearly see the huge difference from the small remnant, to the professing masses who love the world, and all thier fun and games, over seperation, holiness ans obedience to the truth, as most are under the great delusion, loving the lie, and feeding thier flesh dialy, with absolutely no concern for thier souls or the souls of others.
May God have mercy on us all who proclaim His name, but live like the devil, making many excuses for bad behavior, because the lie has been bought, telling you, all is well, Jesus did it all, it is finished, you do nothing, but sit back and enjoy the ride. Now those Christians of old, went through much persecution every day, wondering when thier turn was to be beaten, maimed, thrown into prison, or fed to the lions as the masses watched in delight. This was the norm for the early church, thay came with a simple message of repentance and faith proven by deeds to enter the kingdom, had no time for fun and games, and lived a totally separated life from the world and it ways.
They were not of this world but of the kingdom! May we all be also!

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

I think we are that close now and this is starting to unfold.

If you are familiar with church history, apostasy has always been present in the church. 17th century reformer George Fox suffered great persecution at the hands of the Church of England during his day. The Church in America was determined to be nothing more than a thorn in the side of 18th evangelist George Whitefield.

However, I tend to agree with you in the belief that we are getting close to the 2nd Coming of Christ. Never before could one even imagine a global economic collapse that would lead to one a world government / currency until now.

While I greatly agree with the content of the original post. I'm a little concerned with the motivation behind it. While I do believe Tommy's intentions are entirely pure at heart, I have done a little background research concerning the views he and Skinski express which borrows heavily from a very controversial figure in church history which I find to be a little alarming.

While the bible says nobody knows when Christ will return, I too see things falling into place for the coming one-world gov't and religion.

It's nothing but speculation, because again, nobody knows, but it is interesting.

I'm not sure Tommy understands what salvation is, and how we receive it.

He's dedicated, though, you have to give him that. :)

You are Saved by: James1:21-22
Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

The Receiving with Meekness is Repentance with godly sorry. The Implanted Word is what you Obey.

FAITH IS OBEDIENCE TO THE TRUTH, A WORK, YOU DO NOT OBEY, YOU SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES.

Eze 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

The motivation behind it is just to warn those who are asleep, to wake up, repent, and get on the straight and narrow path, I dont mean to be harsh, angry or prideful in any of my posts, I guess I have been there, a lukewarm mess for many years, I deserve hell for my disobedience, and God has brought me through many storms, I had to start afresh in my faith, about 9 months ago. And learn the truth apart from the church system.

I do agree with the sentiment behind Tommy's posts. Sin should never be dismissed or taken lightly because it is the evidence of a wrongful heart toward God. However, I do not agree that we are capable of turning from the desires of the flesh in and of our own efforts simply because you are attempting to fight your fleshly desire for sin with a fleshly desire for purity. Basically your are you're own enemy in this situation and you are doomed to fail.

That is why God has given us the indwelling Holy Spirit, because in His Presence is power that concurs all sin. It is the love of God resulting in love for God which empowers you to overcome sin when you learn to value God more deeply than you value your fleshly desires for the things of this world. That is why it is so important that as believers we learn to abide in His presence / walk in His Spirit.

However, yes I whole heartedly agree that we are not saved in our sins to sin.

God has granted us REPENTANCE. We are capable of turning from the desires of the flesh in repentance. Nineveh turned, they were capable. The Prodigal Son was capable of leaving the pig pen. James said lay aside all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness thus implying that we are capable.

Isaiah commanded that people forsake their sin. Proverbs 18:13 and Jeremiah 26:13 are clear on the issue. It is a satanic lie to say that man is incapable of turning from sin. We have the ability to choose. What we cannot do is quicken ourselves, we cannot draw ourselves to God, that is what God does.

The grace of God has appeared to ALL MEN teaching them to deny ungodliness and to live godly lives. The light has appeared to ALL MEN through our conscience. God has done the initial drawing, we could not come otherwise.

Yet people will continually say "you are unable" and thus they preach a Gospel where the sin does not have to stop. Thus people get saved in their sins and then wait on God to change them.

The Bible teaches repentance. It is in repentance that we crucify our flesh through a godly sorrow, a brokenness. It is a terrible convicting thing, out laughter is turned to tears, we become poor in spirit, we mourn. It is through this brokenness that our wills are brought into submission to the living God.

It is through this that we lay aside all out wickedness and then we can receive with a meek spirit the implanted word. We can then be a worker together with God in all humble submission of His working in us.

We are not saving ourselves, we are responding to the call of God. Our wills are broken and our flesh is crucified. We are then raised up by the power of God to newness of life. God removes the veil which was upon us. We come from darkness to light. Our eyes are opened. We then walk a crucified life by the power of God by walking after the Spirit keeping the old man in subjection with out hope in the prize.

God bless.

You still don't seem to understand what I'm saying....

I completely agree with you about the power of repentance and the crucified life. The type of repentance that you are explaining is the Hebrew interpretation of repentance and no big secret as you seem to believe. Just as sin is more than an act, deed or work but rather a condition of the heart, repentance works similarly albeit on the opposite end of the spectrum. To a degree it is a lifestyle or as you have called it 'the crucified life'. I have believed & taught this for years myself.

However, how often do you find yourself being over taken by temptation? When was the last time that you intentionally sinned? When is the last time something caught you off guard and you did or said something that you later felt convicted of and had to repent? How often does this happen?

Why did God give us repentance? Why did Jesus give his life on the cross? The answer is not to keep us out of hell although that is a result, a side effect of His accomplishment. He gave His life to restore right fellowship with God, ie. right relationship. That is what John chapters 14 & 15, Romans 8 and the entire book of 1st John is all about. God gave us repentance that we might be washed clean of the sin that binds us. However, we are able to stay clean through 'abiding in the vine' (John 15) or as it is referred to by Paul; 'walking in the Spirit' (Romans 8).

While repentance is very important indeed, it is only the first step - the entry point of a new life where we both walk with Holy Spirit and grow in Spiritual Maturity. However, walking / abiding is the 'how' and 'when' both the fruits and gifts of The Holy Spirit begin to manifest in our lives. They are not something God gives to us to do with them whatever we please but rather, they are the natural manifestations (evidences) of the Holy Spirit in a life that is truly surrendered.

Skinski, I do believe that you are on the right track but as far as Spiritual Dynamics are concerned, you have a ways to go. I say that with all due respect, by no means do I mean that as an insult.

So basically you just believe, and confess, then you are saved according to your theory, I wont go into the verses, since Skinski covered them well, as you are taking those verses out of context.
I really would like to believe all we have to do is accept, confess and believe, then presto we are IN the kingdom, I believed this for many years, and all the mainstream churches and denominations teach this kind of salvation, its very popular today.

But the whole council of God says otherwise, as apart from repentance and faith there is no salvation.

And you do not enter into the kingdom still defiled, hoping Jesus will cover you, and be your righteousness since you were born a sinner.

I hope this will clear things up for you Shroom, I believe we have a bit more to do than just confess and believe.

I Believe, isn’t that enough?
“You believe that there is one God. You do well, even the demons believe and tremble!” James 2:19

At least the demons have enough sense to tremble at the knowledge of God. That’s a far cry from most professing Christians today. They are under the impression that they will go to heaven when they die because they have ‘believed’ in Jesus somewhere along the line. But it has NOT affected their behavior in the least possible way whatsoever. WHY? Because they are HEARERS and NOT DOERS of the Word! James 1:22

Most of professing Christianity in the churches today have been duped by believing that a ‘dead faith’ will save and secure them for heaven. The preachers have repeated, ‘it’s not of works’ so many times that it’s practically engraved above the doors of the sanctuary.
Yet dare speak to them about a ‘Working Faith’ and you will be accused of preaching a ‘works’ salvation!

The Gospel message is clear enough on the necessity of self-denial, purity of heart and right conduct. These are the PRODUCTS of His Grace! (Titus 2:11-14) WHY then are most people who suppose themselves Christians destitute of this true godly conduct and vacant of the Spirit of God? The answer is simple, they have NEVER been Born Again of the Spirit! (John 3:3)

Most of them have repeated a prayer and were told they are saved by some preacher or evangelists. They have heard NOTHING about the Narrow Way that leads to Life or the Difficult Path you must Walk in order to get there. (Matt 7:14) Nor were they told that you must STRIVE (make every effort) to enter through that Narrow Gate in order to be saved. (Luke 13:24)

So now they think the Path that leads to Life eternal is Wide and broad, well traveled, full of comforting amusements and worldly pleasure. Yet by Divine revelation the Lord Himself warned them about just such a notion. He said that MANY would appear before Him at the final Judgment claiming to be have known and worked for Him during their life on earth, but who served their own lusts and desires instead. (Matt 7:15-23)

Do you really believe that this Narrow Way that Jesus spoke about is for the lazy and complacent?
He said that the Kingdom of Heaven is taken by VIOLENT force by souls DETERMINED to enter in! (Matt 11:12) Is that you? Have you made any effort whatsoever to WALK this Narrow Way by a Faith WORKING by Love? (Gal 5:6) Or do you still suppose that the ‘devils faith’ will save you?

The preachers of our day have successfully taken away the rough edges of the Gospel message and replaced them with ear pleasing lullabies about ‘believing’. GONE is Christ’s message of taking up the Cross, dying to self, leaving loved ones behind and enduring to the end. People get ‘saved’ while they remain in bondage to lust, drunkenness, adultery, anger, malice and every other evil temper of the flesh. Thus the churches are FILLED up with these professing Christians who ‘believe’ that GRACE will somehow get them into the Kingdom while they continue to enjoy their sins.

Jesus said that a tree is known by the FRUIT it produces and that NO ONE can Serve two Masters. (Matt 7:16, 6:24) God is looking for EVIDENCE of His Grace WORKING in you! That’s why the Bible contains so many warnings about receiving His Grace in VAIN.
(2Cor 6:1, 1Thess 3:5)

Although you have probably never been told that it’s possible to receive His Grace in Vain, from a dead faith, it is INDEED possible and multitudes are doing so at this very moment. If the Grace you have professed to received in Christ is not PURIFYING your heart of sin and promoting godly behavior, humility and self-control, you have received it to NO EFFECT! You WILL NOT be saved by a GRACE that does not eradicate sin from your life. NOTHING in the Bible teaches that sin can be forgiven while you continue to practice it.

“Do you not know that to whom you present yourself slaves to obey, you are that one’s slave whom you obey, whether it is sin unto death or obedience unto righteousness.” Rom 6:16

You can’t blend darkness with Light or produce good fruit from a bad tree. Your whole body is full of the Light of God or remains in darkness still. (Matt 6:22-23) Sin cannot be forgiven unless you are WALKING NOW, at this VERY MOMENT in the LIGHT as HE is in the LIGHT! (1John 1:7-9)
Those lead to believe that it’s normal to live daily in sin and that everyone does it, or sadly in error, including the preachers! They possess a ‘dead faith’ of devils and nothing more, they are disobedient and disqualified for every good work. (Titus 1:16) Many of them may have a ‘form’ of godliness, but they are certainly VOID of its Power to turn from sin. (2Tim 3:5)

The Bible says that you have need a STEADFAST and ENDURING faith in order to enter the Kingdom. (Heb 10:35-36, Rom 2:7-9) A Faith that by Patient Continuance in Doing good seeks for His Glory, Honor and immortality! DON’T fall prey to the LIE that merely ‘believing’ is enough. The Scripture says that after you patiently ENDURE you will obtain the Promise. (Heb 6:15) IF you HOLD the Beginning of your confidence STEADFAST to the end, you will be saved! (Heb 3:14)

WHO will you believe? That’s the real question. Will you follow the smooth talking preachers who insist it’s not of works and entice you with great swelling words of emptiness that appeal to your fleshly nature? Or will you WORK OUT your own Salvation in fear and trembling before God, knowing that the reward of the righteousness is a glorious entrance into the everlasting kingdom!

Shun the Commands of Jesus at your own peril. Scoff at the faithful few who follow Him in enduring faith. Call this tract legalism and discard it like you do every difficult passage in the Bible. But at the final Great Judgment know that you had every opportunity to turn from your selfishness and LIVE!

Delusion is rampant in our day and deception is everywhere you turn. Only the NARROW WAY is secure and ONLY those who ENDURE to the end will be saved.
(Matt 10:22) Will you?

Sooooo

Someone asked me this in chat the other day. If they are a christian but they commit a sin and then die without having repented it will they go to hell?

Like lets say they just happen to lie to somone...nothing big, but you know like..''hey are there any cookies left'' ''no they are gone'' and then you eat that last one because you wanted it

Christians still sin...so I'm not going to promote the OSAS argument here, but by the logic presented by the original poster, if this person dies before repenting then they are bound for hell. Because one sin seperates us from Jesus, doesn't it?

So if you die with even one sin not repented of you will go to hell right?

So if you die with even one sin not repented of you will go to hell right?
Eze 18:26 When a righteous one turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity and dies in them; for his iniquity that he has done, he shall die.
some argue that it isn't one sin that will cause you to loose your salvation, but continuing in unrepentant sin, but as I am learings, how many times did KIng David commit adultery to loose his salvation? Yes repentance is available,
Eze 18:27 Again, when the wicked turns away from his wickedness that he has committed and does that which is lawful and righteous, he shall save his soul alive.
But this shouldn't be a process of sin repent, sin repent, etc,, repentance is the clearing and godly sorrow unto salvation, and going back to your vomit(sins) is very dangerous, as the heart becomes hardened, and God gives us many ways to escape temptation.
But if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, then there is no longer any more sacrifice for sins, this is a scary verse to me.
We will make mistakes, and we all have many faults, but deliberate, willfully sinning against God, must be put to death through repentance first. Acts 3-19..
Most professing Christians fall into willful sin way to easily, because they never repented, 2 Cor 7-10-11, and do not guard thier heart, thus they spend their free time, indulging themselves in the pleasures of the world, and I mean questionable movies, sports addictions, vile video games, occult and witchcraft books, etc,,, thus open them up to demonic influence, and great temptation, thus they get weak and fall easily into sin that leads to death.
We are commanded to abstain from all appearances of evil, guard our hearts, set our minds on things above, flee from sexual immorality, love not the world, and its pleasures, plenty of warning in the word.
Thus we have all we need in Christ Jesus to be free from the bondages of sin and death. Jon 8-32.......
Hope this helps..

He who is without sin cast the first stone!!

We are born again of incorruptible seed nothing can break the sonship with the Father.
We can break fellowship if we sin and be restored once we ask forgiveness but we can never loose our sonship because it has been born of incorruptible seed.

God bless.

Here is your answer Ezekiel 18:24 (you'll probably not want to accept this either......But it's the infallable truth of the Word.)
The OP is bang on! If it upsets anyone, it's because you don't want to live accordingly.
Tell them the truth Tommy!
