What do you believe about the power of God? List some verses.

My two favorites, one of which is in my profile, is from Isaiah 66

1 - Thus says the Lord: "Heaven is My throne, and, earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me ? And where is the place of My rest."

2 - For all those things My hand has made and all those things exist," says the Lord. "But on this one will I look: on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, who trembles at My word.

Trembles at my Word. Powerful words. Kind of says He don't need anything, so, I guess that says He CAN ACHIEVE anything too. Right?
, huh, all this, green. Doesn't He need us to build Him a city? Or a church? Or?

He needs us to build Him NOTHING, I mean, don't get me wrong, God WANTS to use us to accomplish His will, His purposes but does He 'NEED' us to get His will accomplished? . And, can we console Him with material things. Nope. No. Nada. God is God is God is God, has always been God, no beginning, no end, God. Sure, He got lonely and made us, but did God REALLY need us??? I mean, on the most basic of ALL levels. Did He?

Did He? Sorry, the answer is.....no. He WILL get His purposes accomplished NO matter what, I pray YOU understand that with every word you utter while you are doing His will on planet earth. God bless you all, EVERYONE :)

thoughts? :)

That is good, Ana, the Lord leads...Your words on here are great strength to me and others on c.c. , Truth too . Beautiful Truth , not expose just, argumentative but peaceful, infallible said Truth !!! :)

I just see/saw a lot said on here last night and I was not sure what to say so I do as we all should do in times of NEED... I pray to my Father, Our King, 'Avinu,' the One , the Only One who holds the whole world in His hands, and, oh, did I forget He holds the universe too.

I mean, IF that is what it takes for people to realize just WHO this God we serve is, well, so be it. God can HOLD the whole universe in His hands !
_______
And, since I do not want to go too far off thread, milady, besides saying I liked what you said, Ana, in 'never die' thread, it proves all the more The Truth is inside us, from the moment we are BORN again and RECEIVE the Holy Spirit in our heart...It PROVES that we are more, OH, INFINITELY MORE, than spirit=breath. Oh, to believe, I pray others can see what the Lord has made me see. It hurts :( to see so many think that Satan has others believing a death that does not speak of The Way :( Hurts, Ana. :(

But, yes, in 'never die' thread, you gave a BRILLIANT rhetorical question, at least I think it was rhetorical, anyway, YES! , it was brilliant, said Word, that of which I DO KNOW, for scripture is clear that we are spiritual beings, first and foremost, our body form was just done to achieve His great plan, from the beginning, and, WHAT a GREAT plan it is ! God bless you, young lady. :)

Onto thread: YOU need God, my Christ bros and sis, we ALL need Him. :) He WILL accomplish His will with or without you, mind you, but YOU need God. We ALL need Him ,so, please, I exhort YOU to live your life like you know that, my Christ bros and sis' :) . Please, please, please. YOUR words on here do resonate all the way to Him, YOUR words do make a difference that you say on here to others that BELIEVE IN CHRIST but may not believe YOUR DOCTRINE of 'hell,' or 'death afterlife,' etc..

Pray, pray, PRAY!, ceaselessly, that what cometh out of your mouth uttereth is from Him, for He don't need you !!!!

But, you, yes, YOU, ME, EVERYONE, we ALL need Him !! Want Him. Show Him you want Him....

FEED His sheep . Love Me. Feed My Sheep . Love Me, FEED My sheep. Love Me, FEED.....

Thank you, Jesus, for being in Me, for being in those who believe and received Your Holy Spirit freely given us. I will glorify Your Name, Your hallowed Name, wherever I am, wherever I go, even over all the earth, for nothing compares to You and what you have given me throughout my life. Nothing ! I am soo blessed by you. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jesus. I am nothing, nothing, nothing, without You.

lol I don't even remember what I posted in that thread, but back to this topic.

I believe that often when we follow God we are made to look foolish in the eyes of the world. Sometimes I feel moved to do something random and unexplainable.

It reminds me of these verses:

Esther 4

13 And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

15 Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”

Even if we refuse God's will will still be done, but we will die in disobedience.

Sometimes I wonder about the little things we do that changes people's lives without us realizing it.

I remember things people have done for me that I could never find the words to thank them for.

A stranger in Germany took me in for a few hours in the middle of the night when I missed the last train to my dorm room so that I didn't have to wander the streets until the trains started to run again. I know I shouldn't have been out that late but we traveled a long way and didn't really have the money for a hotel room and I tend to get lost by myself which isn't good since I got separate from my friends on the trip back.

I don't know I reflect back on the many kindness people have shown me and I'm encouraged.

I went up to a homeless man with a sign in Mannheim and was going to offer to share some fruit I just bought. He didn't even let me say anything but offer me some food and a beer. Part of me thought "wow do i look that bad off, that homeless people offer me food?" but I stayed and talked to him and he said I reminded him of his daughter. My husband says there is something about my personality that makes people want to protect me. I don't know if that's true or not but I've found that when I encounter what I would consider pure evil, there is always someone nearby to ask for aid from.

When we are scared, God answers and comforts us. when we are lost, God sends us guidance. when we are angry, God tells us let vengence be HIS. when we are sad, God reminds us of His promises and gives us Joy and Peace not as the world gives but eternally.

God is always there and when needed He sends messengers and people to remind us of His love. I thank Him daily for His patience and forgiveness and try and learn to reflect that light to others because when you drink from the river of life, its not just a sip but overflowing rivers come from our hearts and flow from our mouths to help remind people of God's love and truth.

however if the pot is dirty, what happens to the water?

Yes, Ana, girls do have to watch out about going out nighttimes, that is a reality, I mean, for myself, I walk in the dark a lot but girls by themselves walking in the dark, uh-uh. That's a no-no. That is just a part of life, thanks to those beasts, men. I mean, who made them !! :D

Ana, God's providence is so knowing, He knew about your being out there at night and that guy helping you out with food. God knows what we are doing at all times, His Sprit in us is a gift from Him of Him. Hard to fathom and understand, makes some go mad to think God is three persons, but Phil. 4:7 is clear of all that troubles our hearts...

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
So, IF I was in a martyr situation , like Stephen or any of the Eleven that died for the cause of Christ, I would understand . If I perished, I perished, it would be for the sake of the cross :)

Yes, Ana, our lifework is to serve God, and, if we perish for the sake of the cross, we perish for the sake of the cross. Keep doing the random and the unexplainable as He leads. The Lord leads, He is our ever-present help in our times of danger, Psalms 46:1 :)

we didn't mean to be out that late, it was the place we wanted to visit took longer to get to then we expected.

'Sides I was in college, looking back I did a lot of things I probably shouldn't have but thank God for keeping me safe through it all.

Yes, Ana, God will protect us with His blood when we ask for it. He is our shield of protection but, when we sin, that shield will go down because we are choosing the Enemy. And God hates it when we choose that master:( Plus, He loses a grip on us because we go away from Him. :(

Sure, we all do things we're not proud of all, through life, because of human nature, selfishness is no worse than murder, it's all sin . Varying things happen to us from the result of doing one degree level over another but it is just all the same-sin.

Sin causes God to NOT use us, but He still WILL get done what He wants. Moses didn't want to speak to the people, sure, God got upset (this unfaithfulness in God, was it sin? Moses was given this gift of speaking, God knew it, but Moses did not believe it), but He still went right on getting His will accomplished, just Moses, from this, I think it was, would never himself see Canaan (promised land) :(

Sad, sad, sad, for us, but, NOPE, God just finds someone else that is WILLING, He will make them able, He can make a stupid dumb person who can't speak anything but st-t-tutter and USE that stutterer IF they are willing to accept that God will make him'/her PRICELESS. Faith of a mustard seed WILL move YOU mountains. :) Good glad, we could actually get to something happy, Ana, rather, joyous, because knowing that though you are NOT perfect in your speaking God can and WILL still use you IF only you faithfully follow Him :)

This all said, God WANTS a personal relationship with us. Again, He don't need it, He wants it, just like He says He knows the plans best for us, but He is NOT seeking us/

WE NEED to seek Him and when we do, we will FIND Him . But, we can't just SEEK Him only either, we NEED to seek Him with our entire heart. God wants our all effort for Him done, THAT is how His will be accomplished through us, for His glory but through us . So, ,there you go, Ana, and the rest, GREAT ADVICE, 5 cents please :D

god's will is like esther. mordeci told her if she did not speak to the king deliverance for the jews would come from somewhere else. i believe god will use us if he wills but if we don't do his will the rocks will cry out.
