I want to first say that I believe that Jesus is the son of God and died on the cross for us and that he rose defeating death and sin and i have repented and accepted him into my life as lord and savior. The reason im posting this is because im scared that things i have done might take me out of the book of life or send me to hell and i really dont want to go there. The reason im scared is beacuse im afraid of the verses, mathew 12 31-32, and revalations 22 18-19 and im afraid i might have committed them because i wrote a play about a few stories in the bible for a bunch of kids to watch and i was lazy and went through it fast and im scared i might have changed the meaning not trying to and in my head i keep thinking bad things about the Holy Spirit without meaning to and i would never mean it but i just think it constantly and its hard and i plrayed for God to help me have i commited those sins?

The problem i see there is that many others say that your not for sure going to heaven if you are a Christian and have accepted him and believe and how do i know whats true and if your not how do i know i did not commit it because it says he will take your name out of the book of life and doesn't that mean eternal life? and others say that blasphemy is the actual meaning "Blasphemy" and or speaking against the Holy Spirit.

Because you are so afraid of doing it proves you have not done it. People who blaspheme do it intentionally and these are always enemies of Christ. Sometimes temptation from satan will come to say bad things about God but this is not you that is the devil doing that. Tell the evil thoughts to be gone in Jesus's name. |

Blasphemy is insulting or having lack of reverence for God, the act of claiming the attributes of divinity, irreverence toward something considered sacred for instance the bible. It is a sin of the tongue and not action. The only unforgivable sin is the constant rejection of Christ's offer of salvation, which is His gift of eternal life. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is CONTINOUSLY slandering God and rejecting salvation. I emphasized continuously because as long as a person remains in unbelief, he voluntarily excludes himself from forgiveness of sin. Now that is the unforgivable sin and if they continue in that manner eternal life with God is lost. But if this person realizes their fault and asks for forgiveness, God will forgive.
So if you think you have blasphemed, do not make it an unpardonable sin by continuing in the sin. Ask God for forgiveness then you will be destined for heaven. As for Revelation 22:18-19 John was referring specifically to the book of Revelation, but it implies to all scriptures. We are also warned about adding and diminishing from the scripture in Deuteronomy 4:2 "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish [ought] from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you." John and Moses are correct; we should not add or subtract from God's infallible word. But if you did it out of ignorance or wilfully and you ask for forgiveness, He will pardon. No sin is above forgiveness: "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more" (Isaiah 43:25). I hope this helps.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Joh 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I could go on .. but ENOUGH SAID salvation is not a a life long process... it is asking Christ into your life to forgive you of your sins and give you eternal life.. that is all. Service to Jesus comes after this and is not contingent on salvation.. (not by works) Some misquoted verses: "Faith without works is dead" This verse in James.. has surrounding context of acts of service to God.. not about receiving eternal life. Consider the examples given of Rahab and Abraham.. They were justified by works only in that God accepted their acts of faith to Him. They were NOT justified by works in terms of eternal salvation. How do I know this? Because scripture compared with scripture: Rom 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. The above Romans verse is related to salvation.. and not daily service. Their is no contradiction in scripture. Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Again.. another verse that is about eternal salvation.. having no works element.. no justification by works.. only by Jesus. So.... "Faith without works is dead" becomes.. not taking opportunities to use your faith in helping others makes it dormant. Not lost.. not that you never had it.. just unused! Another one- "He who endures to the end will be saved" The surrounding context of this verse is also not about eternal salvation.. it is not mentioned in the surrounding verses.. what is mentioned is being rescued or delivered from trouble and tribulation.. In this case 'saved' refers not to eternal salvation but being rescued from trouble. Also.. Hebrews 6 (Heb 6:4) For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, (Heb 6:5) And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, (Heb 6:6) If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, notice--- this is someone who has 'tasted the heavenly gift- and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come' So they are a saved person! notice--- in the book of Hebrews.. the writer admonishes the readers that the sacrifice of bulls has nothing to do with salvation.. only symbolic of Jesus. So.. if a saved person falls away.. they can't be renewed to repentance because they can't sacrifice a bull to make up for what they have done.. and they can't get salvation again.. cos Jesus has already paid for their sin. So it is impossible for a saved one to lose their salvation because Jesus has done what He needs to.. can't put Him back on the cross. |

Become "Born Again" - John 3:1-10 - 1 Peter 1
John 3:4-6 explains how one is "Born Again"! There're over 200 scriptures that reference "Salvation" for "Born Again" believers! There is no way I can list them all, but I don't believe in "literal" coincidence! Luckily... I came across a site dealing with this very same fear not too long ago; http://www.biblebelievers.com/montgo...gomery002.html. All the passages U need to help U find peace with God are listed there. I didn't even need the info because my heart is at peace. However, The Lord spoke to my heart & I saved it to my favorites list... "possibly just for U my friend"! I was "Born Again" while in my early teens, & this is a faith that I already possess! I know in my heart that God wants for U to be at peace with him too. I do NOT advise U to read the "private interpretations" before reading the scriptures (listed at bottom)! God makes the final call... but its good to make amends, so SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES ALWAYS... & go with Yahshua (Jesus)! |

P.S.
I may make mistakes (as we all do)... for we are but man; but I have had my head anointed with oil on severl occasions in my early teens. My "LOVE" for Jesus (for whose name I now know the original tongue), has lead me down a path of peace (with victory in conflict) & suffering (John 15:21) as all TRUE believers are destined to! |

It's unfortunate, but many English translatiions, have been tampered with over the years, Satan has had all the time he needs to change words here and there, and the chapter with Nicodemus and Jesus has unfortunately been mutilated. If you study the original Kione Greek you can find that it says "Born from above" not 'born again', Anybody claiming "born again" status has simply been decieved and will have to come to terms with the magnitude of Satan's deception, which is vast and complex, but ahhhhh God willing perhaps there is still time left, it will not be easy though. |

Cup ,
Firstly I fail to see the distinction in practice or belief between the use of the terms "born again" and "born from above". What does it matter. They both mean the same thing - the spiritual reality of an inward transformation by the Holy Spirit that takes place within a person's soul/spirit. Secondly, I fail to see how your interpretation of strictly "born from above" and not "born again", can be correct, given that Nicodemus interpreted Jesus's words as "born again", which led to his question regarding being born out of the womb twice. |

I'm just informing you to what the Bible says and what Jesus said, He said, and this is in the original Koine Greek that John wrote in under the guidence of the Holy Spirit, he wrote "Born from above"!!! Not born 'again'. that has been changed, it's a deliberate mistranslation, the Bible never does not say 'born again' it says 'ye must be born from above'....It's quite simple, if people want to continue on in this tradition of men who have corrupted the Bible under the deception of Satan then they can go right ahead, they can jump up and down all they like, but the Gospel of John was written in Greek. Nicodemus did not understand what Jesus meant, he thought Jesus meant born a second time 'born again' and the word anothen is ambiguous, but John the author uses anothen John 9:11 ("Thou couldest have no power against me unless it was from above [anothen. GR.]" Same word John uses but the KJV has given an incorrect translation, why? Because it's harmful that's why, I mean we go through in we read these mistranslation, believing it's the truth then we find out it's a lie, and we feel cheated, the natural reaction is to bame God, and that's what Satan want's you to do, but repentece, repentence is a change of mind, if you want to grow as a Christian you will need to get well aquainted with repentence, there is this constant change off mind, letting go of all the past lies as God leads you into His truth, and I tell you we are under a mountain of lies, I think the position that were in now, is dire, it's really bad, the deception is so vast, so well established that overcoming it is something that I can barely begin to comprehend, I have been fighting lie upon lie for so long, and every time I must repent and change, repent and change, I come to grips with one deception and it takes me days, weeks and I am so tired and then very next thing i'm faced with another deception, and i'm looking at my life, and it's one big deception - and then it's God and the word - I am the way, the truth, and the light...check that line and you will find it's accurate, Satan does not change everything, he only changes a little, select words here and there, subtle, crafty. |

I fail to see how the words being born again instead of born from above, is anything to be concerned about.
The fact that a person must be born again, is implicit in the statement to be 'born from above' anyway. So he may as well have said "born again". Jesus clarifies what he means in the next verses anyway. So it is probably nothing to be worried about, and is not an incorrect translation. |
