The crucified life and what it looks like!

Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and I live; yet no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And that life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith toward the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself on my behalf.
al 5:24 But those belonging to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let also walk in the Spirit.
Rom 6:6 knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him in order that the body of sin might be destroyed, that from now on we should not serve sin.
When it comes to a true saving faith (obedience) there is no point going further until you understand what it means to be crucified with Christ!
You can argue night and day about the Sabbath, Baptism, Pagan holidays, the rapture, head coverings etc., and miss the most important issue of all, and that is have you actually crucified your flesh with Christ, through real repentance and faith(obedience)once and for all in reality?
Or have you bought into the great lie of deception being taught today by the army of false teachers who have either been duped themselves, or are under the great delusion sent by God!
2Th 2:10 and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.
IF you are still in bondage to sins of the flesh, and I am talking about willful rebellious sin, done presumptuously in hate, guile, malice, anger, or lust, then you did not crucify your flesh with Christ.
This is not a process, that takes place over time, or a symbolic occurrence that took place when you said the sinner’s prayer and then trusted Jesus did it all, and in Him you are crucified in position, because He obeyed for you, because you cannot possible crucify your flesh in your own ability.
Apart from real repentance, and a working faith in love, where you must crucify your flesh with Christ, then you are in danger and must do your first works, repent, and come to a saving faith.
Thus a real crucified convert will look like this:
Walking in newness of life!
Departed from iniquity!
Obedient to the truth!
Loving not the world!
Loving neighbor as self!
Putting God first and foremost!
Abstaining from all forms of evil!
Lover of the truth!
Contending earnestly for the pure word!(truth)
Keeping himself undefiled and unspotted from the world!
Guarding his heart above all things!
An overcomer through the blood of Christ!
Living soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age!
Having no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness!
Departing or departed from the lukewarm church who promotes the lie! (Saved IN sin, Romans wretch, chief of sinners, faith alone, substitution aka imputation, OSAS, etc).
A doer of God’s word and not a hearer only!

Jesus said,
Joh 8:51 Truly, truly, I say to you, If a man keeps My Word, he shall never see death.
Joh 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Joh 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you shall abide in My love, even as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.

To be crucified with Christ as you can see is a very serious matter, you cannot be IN sin and IN Christ at the same time, they don’t mix, and not getting this right will make the difference between heaven or hell, God has given all mankind a choice, and a way out of bondage to sin, and the world.

2Co 7:9 Now I rejoice, not that you were grieved, but that you grieved to repentance. For you were grieved according to God, so that you might suffer loss by nothing in us.
2Co 7:10 For the grief according to God works repentance to salvation, not to be regretted, but the grief of the world works out death.
2Co 7:11 For behold this same thing (you being grieved according to God); how much it worked out earnestness in you; but also defense; but also indignation; but also fear; but also desire; but also zeal; but also vengeance! In everything you approved yourselves to be clear(PURE) in the matter.

Jesus came to set mankind free, see John 8-32, but He didn’t come to be your substitute, in any way, shape or form, or to crucify Himself for you, He came to save us from our sins, through repentance and faith (obedience) where we crucify the flesh once and for all!

It’s not about perfection, it’s not about not needing Jesus, it’s not about being self-righteous or bragging I did it myself, etc.,, but it’s about, humility, brokenness, sacrifice, and a passion and zeal to count the cost, and come before the mercy seat in complete surrender and with a crisis of conviction, that leads to real godly sorrow, where the sin stops, and the flesh is crucified and put to death once and for all!

The crucified life then is a life on the narrow road, following Jesus as He commanded by denying self-daily, and taking up your cross and living a life pleasing to Him, walking IN the spirit, where you will not give any provision for the flesh!

Gal 5:16 I say, then, Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. And these are contrary to one another; lest whatever you may will, these things you do.
Gal 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness,
Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 envyings, murders, drunkennesses, revelings, and things like these; of which I tell you before, as I also said before, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

The crucified life is living a dynamic life of faith (obedience) to the truth, doing what is right by choice and also a healthy fear of an all Holy God, who is very patient and longsuffering toward us all, not wanting any to die, but all to come to repentance! 2 Peter 3-9.

The Crucified life is more about obedience, than perfection, sin is missing the mark, which we all do every day, BUT, does missing the mark mean we miss by falling into porn occasionally, fornication on occasion, getting drunk in a weak moment?

Many will say yes, we all fall short, which means everything we do is as a filthy rag before God, but is this honest? Is this the truth? Does a true follower of Christ, make His or her life a life of continued hate, evil and lust?

If your life consists of a pattern of falling into the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye’s, and the pride of life, either on occasion, or on a daily basis, then you have NOT crucified your flesh with Christ, and you may be waiting for the Lord to do this for you in due time, but God is waiting for you to humble yourself, and make the right God given choice, to crucify your flesh once and for all with Him as outlined above!

PS. I get tired of professing Christians who say they cannot stop sinning (fornication, lying, cheating, hating, drunkenness, homosexuality, porn watching, idolatry, love OF the world, etc.)
Because all sin is the same, which is just a scapegoat for them to avoid the commands of God to repent, stop sinning, crucify their flesh with Him, and follow Him on the narrow road!

Remember a truly crucified heart does NOT live a life of falling occasionally into vile sins that lead to death, yes many mighty men and women of God have fallen, some found repentance some did not, BUT to say this is the normal Christian experience is a lie, and used as an excuse to feed the flesh, and not use all the tools God has given us to resist temptation, overcome sins of the flesh, and put the flesh to death in repentance.

We all will be judged just how God finds us, not in perfection, but in living a life above the flesh and its evil desires, walking in purity, sincerity, and love and faith (obedience). Faults, mistakes, poor judgments, sins of ignorance, misplaced zeal, missing the mark in these areas are not sins leading to death, but can be when they lead us into any guile, hate, envy, lust and pride, that is why we must walk the crucified life, and be very sensitive to all our faults and mistakes, confess them to God, and grow more in the likeness of Jesus Christ.

One is willful presumptuous sin that is total rebellion towards God, a mental decision to disobey Him, and ignore His warnings and power to find a way of escape. This leads to death, but the other does not, and will not lead to death, unless we allow it to lead to rebellion against God, and lust of the flesh, lust of the eye’s and the pride of life!
It’s simple either you are living a sincere, pure life before God, guarding your heart against willful sin and temptation, or you are not, Jesus isn't asking His followers to be as perfect and spotless as He is, BUT IS asking His followers to obey His most un burdensome commands, and stop making excuses for sin and worldliness, He wants all our attention and love, not a divided heart between the world and Him, and most importantly, a heart made pure through repentance and faith proven by deeds, where the crucified life is the abundant life unto Him! Not a life filled with self, lust, and evil thoughts and ways!

Rev 22:11 He acting unjustly, let him still act unjustly. And the filthy, let him be filthy still. And the righteous, let him be righteous still. And the holy, let him be holy still.

We will be judged on how Jesus finds us when He returns or when we die, not in perfection or living a self-righteous life, but either the crucified life in purity, sincerity, and love, OR the un crucified life of self, lust, pride, and bondage to sin and disobedience!

Tommy, I whole heartedly agree with your post. However I am curious to know how is that you feel we are empowered to accomplish it. While I'm sure that we both would agree that scriptures states that it is accomplished through walking in the Spirit (abiding in the vine which is the indwelling Christ), I'm curious as to how you believe one can accomplish this? I offer the following scriptures for your consideration:

2 Cor 10: 3-5 (Amp)

3 For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,

5 [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),

Galatians 5: 4-6 , 16-18 (Amp)

4 If you seek to be justified and declared righteous and to be given a right standing with God through the Law, you are brought to nothing and so separated (severed) from Christ. You have fallen away from grace (from God’s gracious favor and unmerited blessing).

5 For we, [not relying on the Law but] through the [Holy] Spirit’s [help], by faith anticipate and wait for the blessing and good for which our righteousness and right standing with God [our conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action, causes us] to hope.

6 For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love.

16 But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).

17 For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do.

18 But if you are guided (led) by the [Holy] Spirit, you are not subject to the Law.

Ephesians 6: 10-18 (Amp)

10 ... be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].

11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].

14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,

15 And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the [a]firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.

16 Lift up over all the [covering] shield of [c]saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one].

17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit [d]wields, which is the Word of God.

18 Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).

it is by the HS we have the word of God. It is by the word of God we can learn God's will for us, and what are to do and not to do.

So we are empowered by the HS, i.e. the word of God - II Tim 3:16-f. It is by the word we are reproved, rebuked, and made complete, or course this means our adhearence to his word.

Before the Bible was written, or put together, the HS gave miraclous gifts for understanding and knowlege. That was in part, not meant to be permanent. Now we ahve the unity of the faith, because those who wrote the word, were filled with the HS to be able to so. Now we read it, apply it, adhere to it, and we can be made complete, mature, perfect in Christ. This is how we accoplish this.

Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus

II Thess 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe

I Pet 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever

I agree with your statement as well. However, I would like to add that there is a tangible intimate knowledge of God that can be achieved and experienced through abiding in the Spirit. The Apostle Paul refers to this tangible intimacy as the fruits of the Spirit. :)

Absolutely, reading and digesting the Word of God is very, VERY important because it helps to renew both our minds and our hearts to walk in God's truth and His love thus allowing that love (grace) transform us from the inside out thus empowering us to extend His mercy and love to others. :)

how are we empowered to accomplish it? that is a very good question. like many things it is a multiple step process. the first step is confession. write out a biography of your life. put all the good and bad things in there. take full responsibility for your actions. in the emotional state that doing this can create, ask Jesus for help. it is at this point that you begin to have a new perception of the world. everything takes on new meaning with a different context now applied to it. if you pay attention to it, it will be come an enlightening experience. eventually you perceive the Holy Spirit at work around you in the world. it is at this point that one must give oneself over to the experience and believe in the new perceptions that you are having. follow the Spirit with faith and you will be led to put to death the sins of the flesh. you will make of yourself a living sacrifice to God, have communion and be baptized. all of this is taught in the new testament. it was until i read a bible that i began to even fully understand the experience of what i had gone through. you declare your guilt and the innocence of Jesus.

the empowerment that occurs happens so often in society that it has actually been noticed. sadly, society has deemed it to be a medical condition. most who are offered the chance to follow with faith do not do so.they do not understand what it is that is going on and do not have the simple belief that it can actually happen to them. it is a surrendering of the mind and body to God in a way that can only be done by belief and faith. those who do not believe and do not have faith are instead very frightened of the experience. before you are born again the world looks to be a chaotic puzzle. it is when you ask Jesus for help that the puzzle pieces you have collected transform into a picture you never saw before. it is a question of if you believe and will follow the experience. call them seeds or pebbles or pieces, the concept is the same.

one thing many Christians seem to forget is that Jesus was trying to teach us how to have this experience during our life, not after it. we are to become adopted children of God during our life, not after it. you don't die to get out of it, you die to get into it. there are many things i could discuss about the empowerment process that i do not get into, as many people want to debate. why would i debate about how to make dinner when i am already eating it. would you try to tell me what i taste as i chew it?

let us look at the word testament. it can be translated as two words, test and ament. test as we know is an examination or trial. ament can be read as, with out mind, it is also the root word of mentia, which is used by the medical community for the mind. so now we can look at the word testament and wonder what test on our mind is being done. we can look at the old testament with Abraham and see what his examination was about that day with his son. and we can look at the new testament with Jesus and see the current examination everyone can experience. those who have been crucified with Christ. those who have been born again of imperishable seed. those who have been conformed to the image of Christ.

i can only witness to it. Jesus is the Son of God and the bible is truth that can be experienced. begin with confession and have faith. it can happen to you.

The crucified life, assuming we are past the initial salvation process of BELIEVING IN HIM like simply John 3:16 says you ONLY have to do for aceptance into Heaven, is trusting, obeying the LAWS of God which become heir apparent in you ONCE the Holy Spirit is asked by you to indwell in your life.

But, just repent and believing in Christ's death on cross for you, ALL LOVE FOR YOU, ME, EVERYBODY, GAINS you salvation's blessing . Your obedience to grow in faith as The Lord God leads you is YOUR cross to take up and follow after that. No guilt, no shame of your sins NO MORE, your Godly sorrow, that is, sincerely being sorry to God,, your creator , for past wrongs, is what leads you to repentance. Once that act of obedience is done, you will be His. That simple act of faith begins The floodgates opening for told and untold blessings in your life , like His telling peace immediately upon you after choosing to believe and being saved, engulfing your soul.

The crucified life and what it looks like!
...

Tommy 6-8-12
While this your post is better - or less worse, depending on from what perspective/angle one sees it - than the many other repetitive posts you have written on this subject. I still see that it, as well as the others, lacks the focus of the very center of "the crucified life" - the very crucified Savior Himself AND His righteousness. Instead it is man/self-centered. As usual all focus is upon what man does, not what God has done and its fruit. And no emphasis on what one believes and teaches. Now, I do not gainsay the points you have made about what following Christ means as to overcoming these sins you've mentioned. I think few would actually disagree with that. But these points alone do by far not show the whole picture of what of being crucified with Christ really means.

Is it mere coincidence that you always leave out the many clear passages that deals with the casting off, the eschewing, the ceasing, of trying to establish one own's righteousness by looking to the law or to self? The life of being crucified with Christ means not only victory over sins, but also a final end to all useless attempts of vainly trying to recommend oneself to God for one's so-called obediance. That is: the total and final eradication of all ways of self righteousness, or the idea that a valid righteousness before God, as something that, even in the slightest part, could stem from one's self. This is crucial in understanding the context of Gal.2:20.

Gal.2

[16] Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
[17] But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
[18] For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
[19] For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
[20] I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
[21] I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
This has, of course, everything to do with justification and thus the gospel. There are many and various ways for the flesh to boast in anything else than the cross of Christ alone. This includes thinking that one's obedience, even if partly, is the basis for one's right standing with God. Or that one can earn, keep and maintain the saving grace of God by one's good conduct. If one thinks so then that clearly shows that one has not understood the nature of the atonement and the gospel (where the righteousness of GOD is revealed). In that state one is still going about to establish one's own righteousness and have not submitted to the righteousness of God and have therefore not yet accepted the perfect sacrifice of Christ.

Rom.9

[27] Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
[28] For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
[29] And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
[30] What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.
[31] But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
[32] Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
[33] As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom.10

[1] Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
[2] For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
[3] For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
[4] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Christians preach no longer themselves and their own excellency, but Christ (crucified) and His righteousness (which is revealed in the gospel).

Rom.1

[16] For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
[17] For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
1Cor.1

[18] For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
[19] For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
[20] Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
[21] For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
[22] For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
[23] But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
[24] But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
[25] Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
2Cor.3

[1] Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
[2] Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
[3] Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
[4] And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
[5] Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
[6] Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
[7] But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
[8] How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
[9] For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
[10] For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
[11] For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
2Cor.4

[3] But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
[4] In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
[5] For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
[6] For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
2Tim.1

[1] Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

[7] For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
[8] Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
[9] Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
[10] But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
[11] Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
[12] For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
[13] Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
[14] That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us
Christians look not to themselves for their assurance but to Christ ALONE. Because the righteousness of Christ ALONE is the only basis for a just soul's right standing with God. This trust is a sure sign that one has experienced crucifixion of one's self and have totally stopped to look to it to this end. Those who deny this, those who, in effect, say that it is not the person and work of Christ ALONE who makes this difference, but that the difference is in some part also found in oneself, denies the power of God unto salvation and are still in their flesh and dead in sin. Even if they are zealous for God!

You keep on nitpicking on your favorite sins, picking and choosing among some (usually external) sins while being totally quiet of others. Such things as "the Sabbath, Baptism, Pagan holidays, the rapture, head coverings" are just a few examples that you are quiet about. In your judgment these issues are an open field where people can do just about as they please (and thereby consequently sin) as long as they don't drink, smoke or fornicate (which even pagans can refrain from doing - it is possible to have a very moral lifestyle without being saved). See the flaw? What else comes from this picking and choosing than mere moralism? Will you ever understand that the self-contradiction in your remarks stems from a shallow sin concept?

And by the way - sin is always sin, and absolutely no sin is to be excused or justified - even if it is not presumptuous or willful. No man (save Jesus) is NOT totally sin-free in and by himself. And Jesus did command us to be perfect as God is perfect (Matt.5:48, reiterating Deut.18:13). God is the standard here. Not man. Get it?

Paul said that he was determined to know nothing among the believers at Corinth but Jesus Christ and Him crucified (1Cor 2:2) and to know no man after the flesh (2Cor 5:16). This is how a believer, who takes up their cross and allows death to work in them, thinks of other believers who have been crucified with Christ positionally (Rom 6:4-6, Col 2:12,13, Gal 2:20, 3:1)

Gal 6:14

14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Tommy, this is BY FAR the best post I have ever seen you make! :) I hope it's because you have been spending more time in the prayer-closet.....;)

I do wish that you would put more focus on the work of Christ in a new believer, though. It is by His spirit working in us that we can live the crucified life, and it is because His LOVE of us that we should submit to Him. I hope that you someday come to see that fully! :) Love, -Nichole

Take up your OWN cross and ”follow Me.” Follow only Him . :)

Said three times in scripture, Jesus speaking to disciples who were so SURE that following Him would get them out from.under Roman rule. But Jesus did not come to save the world in that way. Many followers LEFT the faith when their selfish interests were seen not going to be sated.

Take up your cross and follow Me” (Matthew 16:24; Mark 8:34; Luke 9:23)?"

Take up YOUR cross. Scary to.think about really. Jesus says all who come to Him will go.through life crucified for believing in Him. But, 'by His stripes, we are healed' even unto death that will.come in your 'walk' of persecution and martyrdom, if you are to be callled that way, as, YOUR serving humanity will be led by Him in you, walking you as you choose to walk His way for you. By doing this how, green? Denying yourself, by throwing your wants and desires by the wayside for His. YOU no longer pull The strings of your life.

Green, you are making me into a marionette !!!!

Yes, ahhhh, NOW, my Christ peeps, you are GETTING IT :) We should only THINK of moving when He MOVES us to what He wants us to do and NOT what we want to do.

I don't have that kind of time nor patience !

You will IF you want to follow Him. :)
Jesus took up His cross in life, as a man becoming in submittance to His Father God, which was a power of both as One, and triune nature, being, of course, Holy Spirit, too. We MUST take up our cross for that very 'faith' reason , to STAY completely in God's will.

So, green, then WHAT! is the movement we are suppose to do carrying our cross?

After havint leant down, picked up your imaginary cross, and, stood tall again, then, WALK, and don't look back when a...........family member dies..................when a girl/guy who was the right one leaves you...
.............when an old buddy stops by, he/she engages you to sin..............................................................when you lose your job of 24 years, fired, 1 year from pension, retirement is suddenly gone.....................................................................................wife//husband/kid dies.....................................................................FOLLOW Him :)

The Lord leads, let Him lead you, abide in Him ahd He WILL abide in you . 1 John 3:6 .

So THAT simple, green?

Yes, yes, yes!!!!!! All God desires from ALL of us is to show our Love for Him, every part of us, praying to Him, thanking Him worshipping Him DAILY, even hourly, and, even, yes, by the minute.

By The minute, green? I got other things to do though.

Do them, JUST include Him :)

All my waking hours in some way connected to PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Him, green?

You got it :) Don't forget to ask God into your dream life too. He certainly can make you dream dreams and see visions that will become your life when you wake.

What about my sins I committed yesterday, I watched--nope, stop right there, COVERED BY HIM IF YOU ARE WALKING WITH HIM AND IN HIM, as, born of God (born again) one does NOT sin, Jesus work on cross COVERED all of your sins, past, present, future, IF you abide in Him, carrying your cross He's given YOU, there is NO BURDEN you carry, just YOUR CROSS :)

. Don't worry, you will KNOW when you trespass against someone, when you do something not perfect, for His Holy Spirit WILL correct you, in Love, NOT CONVICTION, for God is Love. You will be HEALED if you believe in His Spirit power, of those having chosen to be in Him sin can NOT touch.

Only Love. Only grace. Only mercies new every morning for those who have so chosen to take up their cross and follow Him, THAT is what will touch us. Only Him :) .

You keep on nitpicking on your favorite sins, picking and choosing among some (usually external) sins while being totally quiet of others. Such things as

"the Sabbath,
What about the sabbath, we are under the NT not the OT - Col 2:14

14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days

We are not commanded anywhere in the NT to keep a sabbath. The OT is for our learning, not for our adherence, it is gone, nailed to the cross.
What is the sin? We should be baptized as Commanded in Acts 2:38

, Pagan holidays,
What about birthdays, these are area's in which we must use judgement, you cant comdemn nor justify what the Bible does not forbid, by command, example, or inference. If you feel they are a sin, then it is a sin to you if you commit them - read I Cor 8

the rapture,
???????????

head coverings"
What is the context? is it binding on all or just the Corinthians, because what it meant in that culture? Or was it referring to the women who were prophesying and praying during the miraculous age?

Why would he comment on these things? Because you feel they may or may not be sinful? These are areas that are debated, and one must come to a conclusion, but his conclusion cannot be forced on anyone else in these areas.

The Bible is clear on what he is talking about, the lusts of the flesh.
This can make anyone fall, because it is not of God, it is of the world, and the Bible speaks much of these, Tommy is not saying anything that scripture does not say. Some just don't like it brought out I guess.
