Said three times in scripture, Jesus speaking to disciples who were so SURE that following Him would get them out from.under Roman rule. But Jesus did not come to save the world in that way. Many followers LEFT the faith when their selfish interests were seen not going to be sated.

Take up your cross and follow Me” (Matthew 16:24; Mark 8:34; Luke 9:23)?"

Take up YOUR cross. Scary to.think about really. Jesus says all who come to Him will go.through life crucified for believing in Him. But, 'by His stripes, we are healed' even unto death that will.come in your 'walk' of persecution and martyrdom, if you are to be callled that way, as, YOUR serving humanity will be led by Him in you, walking you as you choose to walk His way for you. By doing this how, green? Denying yourself, by throwing your wants and desires by the wayside for His. YOU no longer pull The strings of your life.

Green, you are making me into a marionette !!!!

Yes, ahhhh, NOW, my Christ peeps, you are GETTING IT We should only THINK of moving when He MOVES us to what He wants us to do and NOT what we want to do.

I don't have that kind of time nor patience !

You will IF you want to follow Him. Jesus took up His cross in life, as a man becoming in submittance to His Father God, which was a power of both as One, and triune nature, being, of course, Holy Spirit, too. We MUST take up our cross for that very 'faith' reason , to STAY completely in God's will.

So, green, then WHAT! is the movement we are suppose to do carrying our cross?

After havint leant down, picked up your imaginary cross, and, stood tall again, then, WALK, and don't look back when a...........family member dies..................when a girl/guy who was the right one leaves you... .............when an old buddy stops by, he/she engages you to sin............................................... ...............when you lose your job of 24 years, fired, 1 year from pension, retirement is suddenly gone.............................................. .......................................wife//husband/kid dies.............................................. .......................FOLLOW Him

The Lord leads, let Him lead you, abide in Him ahd He WILL abide in you . 1 John 3:6 .

So THAT simple, green?

Yes, yes, yes!!!!!! All God desires from ALL of us is to show our Love for Him, every part of us, praying to Him, thanking Him worshipping Him DAILY, even hourly, and, even, yes, by the minute.

By The minute, green? I got other things to do though.

Do them, JUST include Him

All my waking hours in some way connected to PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Him, green?

You got it Don't forget to ask God into your dream life too. He certainly can make you dream dreams and see visions that will become your life when you wake.

What about my sins I committed yesterday, I watched--nope, stop right there, COVERED BY HIM IF YOU ARE WALKING WITH HIM AND IN HIM, as, born of God (born again) one does NOT sin, Jesus work on cross COVERED all of your sins, past, present, future, IF you abide in Him, carrying your cross He's given YOU, there is NO BURDEN you carry, just YOUR CROSS

. Don't worry, you will KNOW when you trespass against someone, when you do something not perfect, for His Holy Spirit WILL correct you, in Love, NOT CONVICTION, for God is Love. You will be HEALED if you believe in His Spirit power, of those having chosen to be in Him sin and Satan can NOT touch. 1 John 5:18

Only Love. Only grace. Only mercies new every morning for those who have so chosen to take up their cross and follow Him, THAT is what will touch us. Only Him

Well and humourously put :), though I believe you might have meant that the "Holy Spirit will correct you in Love, not Condemnation"

Yes, cnZ, , correct, sorry to sound so 'convicting, The Holy Spirit is only Love, no conviction for those in Christ Jesus. Just not His modus of operandi :)

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit . Rom. 8:1

Excellent post Green EXCEPT the above sentence. Unfortunately many denominations today, Free Grace Baptists in particular, tend to confuse Conviction with Condemnation. There is a huge difference between the two. Conviction always leads us back to Jesus, Condemnation makes us want to run away from Him. Conviction is the Holy Spirit's invitation to us to return to right fellowship with God. Condemnation attempts to push us further away from God by making us feel ashamed.

The simple truth is that none of us are righteous in God's sight which why Christ came. Christ's sacrifice on the cross not only insures us that God is faithful to forgive when we humble ourselves and answer the Holy Spirit's invitation unto repentance through conviction but is sacrifice also restores us to right fellowship with God through the indwelling Holy Spirit thus we can now abide in Him thus allowing Him to transform both our minds and our hearts through divine love.

In ending, I feel it would be wise to attach the same scriptures I posted yesterday in another thread to this one. :)

2 Cor 10: 3-5 (Amp)

3 For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,

5 [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),

Galatians 5: 4-6 , 16-18 (Amp)

4 If you seek to be justified and declared righteous and to be given a right standing with God through the Law, you are brought to nothing and so separated (severed) from Christ. You have fallen away from grace (from God’s gracious favor and unmerited blessing).

5 For we, [not relying on the Law but] through the [Holy] Spirit’s [help], by faith anticipate and wait for the blessing and good for which our righteousness and right standing with God [our conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action, causes us] to hope.

6 For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love.

16 But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).

17 For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do.

18 But if you are guided (led) by the [Holy] Spirit, you are not subject to the Law.

Ephesians 6: 10-18 (Amp)

10 ... be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].

11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].

14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,

15 And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the [firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness [produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.

16 Lift up over all the [covering] shield of [saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one].

17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit [d]wields, which is the Word of God.

18 Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).
