How many would agree with this statement? - "The national government will maintain and defend the foundations on which the power of our nation rests. It will offer strong protection to Christianity as the very basis of our collective morality. Today Christians stand at the head of our country. We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit. We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theatre, and in the press -- in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during the past years."

...not sure we can rightly blame "liberal excess". So-called conservatives have been just as bad. :(

If the Lord moves to do this...good. But if it's man trying to accomplish a work...well, we know how THAT ends, right?

amen and I feel the same why about the church. I think this is what the piece of paper the founding fathers say's.

I agree with your statement Pickles. One of the reasons for posting the quote it sounded closely like whats going on in our government today. But i bet we wont agree which part of our Government would be quoting this.....lol
