Jm 3:1

My brethren, be not many masters (didaskalos), knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation (krima - judgment - that also includes rewards of commendation).

1Tim 3:1,6

1 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

6 Not a novice (new and unproven), lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

1Tim 1:5-7

5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience (conscience full of the grace and righteousness of God), and of faith unfeigned (without hypocrisy):
6 From which some having swerved (deviate and miss the mark) have turned aside unto vain jangling (empty talk);
7 Desiring to be teachers of the law (nomodidaskalos); understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm (strongly assert).

Some want so much to be teachers and have a spirit of resentment with those that have an understanding of the scriptures that they are miles away from. The reason for this is because they have never done what (1Pt 5:5,6, Jm 4:5-11) talk about when it refers to putting yourself under the mighty hand of God (Ps 68:18, Eph 4:8-16). I don't know what some think this means but it is referring to those that God has hand picked to be pastor-teachers, given to the church as a gift, and to be over others in the Lord (1Thes 5:12,13, Heb 13:17). They are not self appointed but chosen of God and equipped for that calling. But these who want to be teachers do not humble themselves and put themselves under a man of God raised up for the purpose of preaching and teaching the word and to feed the flock as an overseer (episkipos) Acts 20:28.

I guess you just decide for yourself if what he or she is teaching lines up with the word of God

We all have learned things that we can share with others. None of us is supposed to call ourselves teachers, though:

But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brethren. Matt 23:8 RSV

no because they display the FRUITS of walking with the HOLY SPIRIT: love, joy, peace, kindness, long suffering, gentleness and self control.

They love others no matter what they believe and do not just talk the talk they walk it. They do not hold standards up for others they do not try and meet themselves. they are humble enough to say sorry when they are wrong and wise enough to admit when they do not know the answers to every question.

They will drop what they are doing to pray with you and they will rejoice with you during the happy times and cry with you when you mourn. They will lead by example and teach by point to JESUS and the Bible and speak with the power and authority of the HOLY SPIRIT.

they will speak with wisdom from ABOVE and will not engage in gossip, slander, or useless contentious utterings. They will be mature in Christ and be rooted in Him that their faith will not be shaken by the world and its many miseries that attempt to make them stumble. They will equip those entrusted to them with the spiritual defenses needed to walk out into the world and spread the Gospel and Love of Christ to a people in desperate need of the life giving waters that will flow untainted by bitterness or hate from the hearts of those who walk with the Holy Spirit of God.

Godly teachers are shaped by God's own hands and His Holy Spirit teaches them and guides them into whatever path He leads them.

it takes time. Paul spent 3 years in the desert before he started teaching. Even Jesus waited until He was 30 years old before teaching. Moses spent 40 years in the desert after murdering a man before being sent to Egypt.

we are but little sheep in comparison and I for one know that it takes a while for a lamb to learn and grow. We must drink milk before we learn to eat meat.

Most wish to share their knowledge that comes to them with salvation, edification and exhortation may proceed from any member of the Body of Yeshua. As for teachers, He is the Savior.

what does having rocks praise Jesus have to do with being a qualified teacher? Saul prophesied when the Holy Spirit was upon him but still would not be considered to have made the wisest decisions in life. Especially when God toke His Spirit from him.

I believe this is a that was then this is now thing.
sure you have the right to believe so. Personally I believe its an eternal God thing....

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
