Have you ever helped a unknown stranger. Someone who appears out of nowhere. It was almost like it was planned to happen. Like I was placed there at just the right time. I remember one time, when I was in a restaurant having lunch. There was an elderly gentleman about to leave the restaurant. He was having trouble walking. I got up out of my seat, and went to the door of the restaurant. I held the door opened for the elderly gentleman. He looked into my eyes and said thank-you young man. I could tell he was touched by my gesture. You never know how you can change a persons life by showing a little kindness to a stranger. You never know who you may be helping at that time.

Hebrews 13:1-2 13 Keep on loving each other as brothers. 2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.

I really love those verses. Everybody needs to be shown love, not just our immediate family and friends, huh? :)

yes Von, very good advice. Christ showed love to all. He was our example of how to treat others. I pray I can always live up to that example and that if I do ever entertain an angle unaware that I show the love of Christ!

Von - I was thinking of that very verse as I was reading the first part of your post.

I think often actions speak loudly... letting that light shine and the person wonders what you've got that's different. When I met my husband's friend for the first time I gave him a hug and he continually went on to everyone about how different it was to usual hugs that are often fake, he really felt it was a loving hug.

I've often given my lunch to homeless people. As I was told once, when you see a homeless person make sure you give them a Christian tract. They don't have any belongings so will really treasure that one thing you give them and will keep reading it. If you want to get a homeless person excited, tell them about Heaven which awaits!

Talking of experiences... I was in a car crash a couple of years ago and there was a woman standing there at the exact time it happened, she helped me, did everything for me, cleared my car for me, comforted me, did more than I could've ever expected. It was a strange night where I felt like God put her there for me. I think she may have been a nurse even. I was a backsliding Christian at that point and a few things happened after that crash that brought me back to God :)

Good advice von1. It is always good to show hospitality because that way you will be showing the love that Christ asked to show and it's also an opportunity to share the love of God to them.
